They pick you up on arrival at Paphos and take you to pick up your vehicle, quick service and very helpful and friendly. They even set my mobile sat nav to our property, it was a late flight and dark. Instructed us on the difference between my own automatic car and the one we were hiring.

Completely unprofessional from the start. Was given a 15 year old car that already had some minor interior damages (lights not working when opening doors), but it did its job and decided to let it slide since it was a cheap deal. But the worst part was when I gave it back, I was told to leave it at the airport, unattended with the doors unlocked and the keys under the driver’s mat. Next day I received an email that the car was damaged (small scratch on the front bumper). Of course I had no way of contending since I was already gone back in my home country. In addition, instead of the deposit being blocked as stated on the rental agreement, they had actually fully taken the money, and gave me back the remainder after they taken a hefty amount for the bogus claims. After close inspection of their pictures, I had confirmed they were taken on different dates. Regardless, I managed to claim back, through an insurance, which was not theirs and as such had to go through an arduous and stressful bureaucratic obstacle course. No proper customer contact, one of the phone numbers provided was the owner’s father who apparently does not work at the car rental.

Take this as a stern advice – DO NOT rent from these shammers.

This company to make money not only from renting the cars - they add crazy bottom end car damage, which you typically dont think about or even check. After i returned the car, they said that the bumper lowest part which you dont even see while standing or sitting has a around 1 cm scratch. Then they started lying to me that they will repaint whole bumper for this small scratch and charged me 150 euros. I understand it was my fault that i didnt took extra insurance, but its just an insult to a person who works with cars to tell that you will repaint whole bumper - at the best case scenario they will spot paint with a brush or even more likely do nothing and get another 150 euros from another customer.

I've been using Elephant car hire for nearly 10 years now and I just can fault them. They have some fantastic cars at very low prices and what they quote you is all you pay. There's no hidden extras like other company's and as long as you do as they ask if you have an accident you won't pay any excess. Which is reassuring especially driving in Cyprus.

Noni has phoned me a couple of times when the car I hired was not available and he has have given me an upgraded vehicle at the same price.

Elephant to me is the best car hire firm in Cyprus and I've used a few.

3 week 2016 holiday in Paphos

This was our 6 consecutive visit to Cyprus and third from renting a hire car with Elephant. Again we experienced first class service from initial booking, being greeted at the airport on arrival and the type and condition of vehicle. On arrival the elephant rep took the time to explain everything that you need to know, the car was presented clean and tidy and half filled with fuel and we were charged that exactly, no add on or extra cost that you face with some companies. Elephant has become my preferred provider when renting in Paphos for the past 3 years. We had previously used other company’s but Elephant far exceeds expectations on all counts, they do not rent aged vehicles. We will be renting with them again next year for sure. I would not hesitate to recommend Elephant Rent a Car Ltd and Noni Touloupos and team.

I hired a car at Cyprus though elephant car hire before I went to Cyprus it was a Ford Fiesta auto what I got was a Toyota freed what an upgrade at no extra cost, I couldn't be any happier the service was excellent both picking up and dropping off,I would definitely use again and recommend other people to use them.
