I Struggle To Find Anyting That Works With Expedia

This was my first time using Expedia.

- I made a mistake for the name on the ticket. Fine, Expedia will change it swiftly, some airlines do it for free right ? Wrong. At first they said that the name change was accepted by the airlines. I called Expedia, turned out it was not... And they gave me the wrong airline number to call. Okay, it goes back to the name change team again. It was delayed 3 times in total, and too late before the flight, so I had to buy a replacement ticket with a flex refund policy because of that. I am still waiting for my refund request.

- Turkish Airlines cancelled my flight to New York twice. Every time you transfer to the next flight, Expedia makes you pay the difference (airline policy, they say), except that when you say "Hey Expedia, I am really broke with all those cancellations, could you help ?", they give a number which says air support. They tell you to call in the morning as it is less busy. Well, I have been calling since the morning, with a hold time of what, 4 hours ? That's £115 in mobile credit.

- The chat doesn't work well and you get switched to other customer agents out of nowhere.

- After all that, I lost so much money with cancellations and hotel, flight re-bookings, that I will probably end up homeless next month. I asked for a gesture of goodwill, I am still waiting.

Overall thank you Expedia for taking my money and not delivering on your services.

In October I Went To Expedia To Book 4 Seats On A

In October I went to Expedia to book 4 seats on a flight to Austin, USA for Easter 2019. After entering my details their website showed a yellow page stating "we are unable to process your booking". The next day I tried again, same message from Expedia.

I gave up and went onto spend my money elsewhere!

In November I receive a call from my 83 year old father (from whom I was borrowing the money for these flights) to say he had been charged in excess of £3000 on his credit card! I told him this cant be right, no flights had been booked or confirmed! After a call to Expedia I am shocked to learn that we have indeed been sold 2 flights each on the same plane!

I was told it was my fault, their website was fine but they would cancel one and apply to British Airways for a refund. This would take 6 weeks! After 8 weeks they tell me that they cannot help me anymore, British Airways have denied me the refund.

I call British Airways (hugely expensive 0844 number for over 1 hr) to be told they have processed the refund but they cannot help me, I need to continue to deal with Expedia (who have also refused to help further)

I am in tears after this phone call, our holiday to the USA is now without spending money and my poor old Dad is so stressed!

If anyone knows anyway to help me it would be amazing. Thanks

Expedia Uk Dreadful, appalling, unhelpful Avoid At All Costs

I can not go in to all the details, but please stay away from this part of the expedia group, booked on line for a trip to Rome, Expedia took out three lots of payment, i only found out because the card company called me about it, called expedia told me was my fault I hit payment button more than once, but they would sort it out, no they didn't, called back next day, same thing again, on the forth call, it was sorted so I thought,as their web site was having problems I booked our trip over the phone, spelling out our names and details carefully, they repeat them back to me and book the trip, next day I get email with booking confirmation, they had miss-spelt family name of 2 out of 4 of us,called them took 45 mins to get through to them another 50 min for them to understand the problem, was told all will be fixed, this joke went on again and again over the next 9 days, then I find out my card was still two payments out standing, 48hrs before we fly I am still on the phone to them trying to get our family names corrected for the flights,

12hrs before we fly names rectified, outstanding payments on the card still not rectified. in total I spent 47 hours on the phone listening to poopy music and talking to people who just do not give a poopy.

please please please keep away from Expedia uk.

Left Us Out Of Pocket And Ignored Our Complaint

We booked 5 flights for a round trip in one transaction. These were on major airlines, not budget ones.

The 3 outward flights were as expected but when we checked in at the airport for the 2 return flights we were told our luggage was not included with our tickets, and we had to pay €120 extra for our two suitcases.

We wrote to Expedia after we returned home but there was no response.

We will never use them again, not ever.

Hostile Unfriendly Staff

The room was ok 7 out of 10. Food quality was ok most of the time 7 out 10.

Dining room and service was quite good. Our waiter a portugese chap was excellent, unfortunately that's where the good points end. The reception staff and bar staff were the most unfriendly and hostile people I have ever encountered in any hotel and I (and other guests) told them so, but it was water off a ducks back, they were useless. My wife and I wouldn't go back there for free.

Expedia - Awful Customer Service

If I could have given zero stars for my experience of booking with Expedia, I would have done so. I booked my complete holiday through Expedia - flights, hotel and airport transfer. Flights and hotel were confirmed, airport transfer was showing as "not booked" with no option to be able to do anything about it, even though the money had been taken from my account. I contacted customer services to be told they cannot change my itinerary - no idea why - and that I would need to email them to request a refund. To cut a long story short, from 4 April 2017 to today - 13 June 2017, I have made 6 phone calls to Expedia, and have sent 6 separate emails to prove that they did indeed take the money from my account, and still have not received my refund. 4 times I have been promised that the money will be refunded in 7-10 days. Excuse me for not believing it any more. I have requested a link to the complaints procedure to lodge a formal complaint and have been told that they are unable to send this to me. I am giving this another week and if the money has not been credited to my account, I will be taking legal advice. I am so disappointed that this has somewhat tainted the holiday I have so been looking forward to as I have spent far too much time on the phone arguing over a refund of money which has been taken from me under false pretences. I will certainly never use Expedia again, or advise anyone else to. Following my posting on another review website, Expedia were quick to contact me to help resolve my issue, but unfortunately didn't call at the arranged time of 17:30 last night, and by the time I went to bed they still hadn't called. So yet another example of how truly bad their customer service is.

I have now sent 3 emailks to customer services and thir oners and not even had the courtesy of a rep[ly.

AVOID USING FTHIS JOKE OF A COMPANY.

Expedia / Oyo Malaysia Hotel Chain Misrepresentation, False

When is a Hotel Not a Hotel ? When Advertised through OYO Malaysia on Expedia etc!

In Good faith I booked a hotel through Expedia.co.uk after extensive research on their website and others for a hotel in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and found a hotel called and I Quote ‘Premium Brickfields Gandhi’s Kuala Lumpur’ which we found later does not exist.

We arrived Kuala Lumpur in the evening of the 30th November 2016 after an exhausted 16 hours, three flights journey and attempted to locate our hotel at the address advertised on Expedia and this OYO (Hotel reservations agency) Their address still shown as ‘ 21E, Jalan Tun Sambanthan 3, Kuala Lumpur, 50470, Malaysia’ and found it not existing at this address. Asking at several hotels who tried to phone the OYO so called Customer service they were unhelpful to say the least. Finally we were informed at the Prescott hotel who actually received a straight answer that it is actually now called Lotus Hotel at 250 Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickyards. But nothing like the pictures advertised, indeed this Lotus hotel looked like a dump in actual comparison.

Two hours of walking to find our hotel we arrived at this ‘Lotus hotel’ with staff who could barely communicate in English and looking as if we were in Bagdad not Malaysia.

Two hours further of attempted communications with staff at this Hotel Lotus and OYO got us know where. Indeed OYO (Changing their story) tried to dare suggest they attempted to communicate with us Via our old home phone not email but were unable to while their email spam regularly got through to us!

The hotel they decided to give us Not the Advertised ‘Premium Brickfields Gandhi’s Kuala Lumpur’ that simply does NOT exist has No Breakfast or Restaurant facility, and pale into insignificance to the one we booked on Expedia.

We actually found with the help of staff at the ‘Lotus Hotel’ where these false pictures originated from, they were taken from a Hotel OYO do not use called Royal ….something Not as described.

They at OYO Customer service refused to take any responsibility and offer any help. Exhausted, close to midnight we were forced to stay in this Lotus hotel.

Loud Banging and Loud Speakers with Bollywood ‘music’ coming through our walls! No Windows. Old and Dirty furnishings and Grey Oily Linen / Towels and Cockroaches, etc.

A Cleaner that would stalk you and demand “Tips” even forcibly entering one’s room and even follow you when you return to the room forcing his foot to the door so one can’t close the door, demanding “Tips” for doing his Basic cleaning duties for the room which he did Badly (No Toilet paper, etc) !

The ‘Non-smoking’ room was filled with the acrid smell of Cigarettes coming from the hallway under our door. Loud voices and continually loud banging from the room above all evening and very late at night.

One lift for the needs of all staff and guests.

Again in complete contrast to what the advertised pictures stated, pictures taken from another Hotel to falsely advertise a hotel they at OYO do not offer!

OYO if you had to replace the Hotel at the last minute then they could of easily emailed us, again their regular unwanted advertising emails got through almost daily to us!

OYO should of offered a hotel Similar comparative Hotel not one at the extreme opposite end to what we are forced to accept. One with the Promised ‘Free Breakfast included’ and with staff who can communicate in English and with WIFI which we have not had for days at this hotel!

Meanwhile Expensive calls to Expedia UK had to be made with No other forms of Communications open to us. We still await an amicable resolution while being Totally Ignored!

We await still for their Reply from their so called Appalling 'Customer service' based in India.

False Advertising

Book a standard double room with breakfast included. Read confirmation email and listed as 1 breakfast is included. Phone CS to make a complaint. No resolution received, only repeat what's in confirmation email, no cancellation allowed. Worst of all, nothing done to the website to deter future customer to make the same error as I did.

Horrendous

After booking on expedia, being redirected to a US site, without being told. I was booking from UK for flights and hotel in Australia, nothing to do with US.but being charged in US$ !!! I booked and was told there would be 24hours to change/cancel booking, after noticing a mistake Expedia had made on the room, Ihad to call a US number three times, twice being cut off, the third, after being put on hold, the call therefore lasting 75 minutes, finally speaking to someone 11 hours after booking, that no changes could be made as the cut off time was 5 hours after booking, due to time zones changes as Australia is 11 hours ahead.

Never book with expedia there are many more travel agents on and off line who keep to their contracts
