My Pioneer A9 Amp Was Beyond Repair As The Parts W
My Pioneer A9 amp was beyond repair as the parts was not obtainable, so I then purchased the Yamaha AX-596.
In comparison to the Pioneer there is none.
O'k the Yamaha does have a very impressive sound that has high output power. Depending on what speakers are used this amp delivers crisp high tones and deep tight bass. I am using the Kef C7's and the sound is great.
Just one thing I would also like to add is dont couple this with an equalizer as when using the inbuilt Pure Direct and CD Direct switches then set Bass/Treble/Loudness "0" flat frequentcy this is all thats needed for a pure and pleasing natural sound.

Brought The Yamaha Ax596 As A Replacement For My V
Brought the Yamaha AX596 as a replacement for my vintage sansui system, and found out it cannot be replaced too easily. The sound quality is fine with ample power.Works well with any kind of speakers with the loudness control to adjust to your needs.
The built is fine, but an optical input would have been a welcome addition.
The equaliser output does not work well with some brands, but is fine with the yamaha equalizer. This is a drawback. Not good for dual 12 drivers as bass notes seem to get a bit overstressed.
On the whole its a good amp to change to from most brands of the same price.
Surely i would reccomend it to my friends.

If You You Like Loud Clean And Resonably Priced Th
If you you like loud clean and resonably priced this Yamaha AX-596 will serve your audio needs for years to come.I've owned this for 3-years and I'm running it with Paridigm Studio 20 speakers on stands and Kyocera CD player with a Teck tuner and I could not be happier with my choice.I however would have liked a centre channel for TV,But you can't have everything.

Yamaha Ax596 Is An Excellent Reliable Home Amplifi
Yamaha AX596 is an excellent reliable home amplifier. I use it in my home office. It has a lovely rich sound and drives my Kef bookshelf speakers, or my Kef Ref 104 floorstanders or my Jamo floorstanders with 10" base units, all with great ease. The build quality is great too, nice and heavy. It has really good shielding, so I do not have to worry about either mains or air borne interference. I bought this stereo amp because I already had a Yamaha DSPAX1 in my TV lounge and I was so impressed with it. I would recommend this amp to anyone but you will have to get one off Ebay now as they are discontinued.

I Mainly Bought The Yamaha Ax596 Amp For Home And
I mainly bought the Yamaha AX596 amp for home and for the occasional dj ing. Its fine on my home Tannoys and running it through 12" 100wx2 Gemini Disco speakers it certainly wasn't the amp left wanting. This has a lot of inputs and I run tuner, phono, CDR, CD player, tape deck and laptop through it with all round good results. To me this is a good old fashioned big 'Jap-amp' all the bells and whistles 100w x2 at 8 ohms (20-20,000 at 0.05 thds). I'm sure you could argue the toss over sound quality with some expensive 'Hi-FI' amps but it does it all at an affordable level and with remote e.t.c I don't rate variable loudness knob as it muddies things, just tweak bass level a little bit. Good power, line inputs, bridgeable, 'clean sound'. Only bad point variable loudness not particularly good.

I Was So Impressed With The Ax-396 (see Other Revi
I was so impressed with the AX-396 (see other reviews in Yamaha amps), that I bought the AX-596 for no other reason than to own it. Just like the 396, the 596 looks mean and does an equally great job, faithfully reproducing all that goes into its circuitry, for your listening pleasure, with more wattage to boot. While the AX-396 has 60 watts p/c, the AX-596 has at least 100 watts p/c and it will let you know it too, if you have a good speaker system that can handle it and it won't break down at higher output like other brands might. Coupled to a Yamaha Grpahic EQ, this unit is the top line thoroughbred in my stable and it can match easily the heaphone amp (no brand name here) which I also have linked to this system and that is no easy feat to achieve. Many other amps just cannot do this simply because their headphone circuits are more a hurried afterthought than a true integral part of the amp. The AX-596 has the ability to absolutely make all my music sound great. It has great subtle sounding low end bass and ear splitting high end and everything in between is magnificent.
As I quoted above, I bought this amp as a treat to myself because I love the AX-396 and straight amps (without extra bells and whistles on them) are rapidly disappearing from shops now, in favour of the home theatre amps which are sadly taking over, but the nature of this beast becomes apparent as soon as you use it. It is made for all applications and like the AX-396, it sounds great no matter how you use it or with what other components. If I was to award the AX-396 10 out of 10, then this amp would get 11 out of 10 if it was possible.
Rest assured that owning one of these amps will leave you wanting for nothing else. It simply and unadulteratedly (there's a big word) does what is was made for...
In a single word - "Perfection"...
AX-596 is not the best of stereo amplifiers, but very impressive one especially considering low cost and lively sound.
