John Holt Teach Your Own

This book is a must for anyone who works with young children or who has young children of their own and ALL student teachers. Even if you don't agree with the radical approach Holt advocates (child-centred, self-directed learning at home in preference to school), his ideas are thought-provoking and encourage adults to deal with all children in a respectful and sensitive way. Easier said than done of course, but something to aim for.
