I Don't Have The Docking Station Or The Rubbish Ko
I don't have the docking station or the rubbish Kodak rechargable batteries. My camera works great with the 15 minute rechargable NiMh batteries from Wal-Mart. I just recently had to take my camera apart because my wife dropped it and the shutter was stuck, but I was inpressed with the build quality inside as well everything is plugged in so that it can be disassembled and fixed by someone that has a little electronics know how. The pictures look great I am really impressed with the long exposure night shots that this camera takes.

I Bought This Camera For A Specific Reason, I Was
I bought this camera for a specific reason, I was backpacking around Australia and wanted high quality digital pictures. Im no professional but this camera enabled me to take some awsome pictures with ease of use.
I would suggest the 128mb card to go with it as you get over 100 picures at 4mp size.
The lense quality is superb and when compared to my mates Sony (around the same price) the pictures from the Kodak are chrisper, better colour and print out better at A4 Size.
Buy some rechargable batteries and your laughing. mine used to give me around 30-50 pics depending on what I was doing with the camera.

I liked the use of the camera in the beginning. This problem with the battery brings this camera down to disposable quality.
Go to wal-mart, buy the rayovac IC3 15 minute rechargable batteries, the two pack that comes with a charger, for 17 bucks and you don't even have to mess with the crappy kodak rechargables. My DX4900 will fill my 128 MB card before I have to recharge them. Then when I do have to recharge them it takes 15 minutes and I am back in buisness again.
I have owned the Kodak 4900 for several months. You are correct: the battery charging situation is a waste of time. I switched to using the Lithium Ion disposable batteries and have gotten great life out of them, even with heavy flash usage. For me the ease of use and picture quality still make it a good choice.

This Is The Best Product For The Traveller And Not
This is the best product for the traveller and not the professional user. I recommend to buy 128 Mb card and this will give you 103 shots with best quality 4Mpics.
Yes outdoor the pictures are great but have you tried taking pictures indoors of a person who moves, blurring is very bad my camera has been back to Kodak twice because it is so bad with no improvement.
If the reviewer has given this camera 9 or 10 out of 10 for 3 categories how can he rate it 2/10 for "value for money?"
The DX4900 is my first digital camera and I (and many friends) have been impressed by the high quality pictures you can obtain from it. The camera is light, easy to use and every bit as good as many higher priced products. It gets 10/10 from me in all categories.
