I Am Not Entirely A Citroen Person, But I Like The

I am not entirely a Citroen person, but I like the look/shape of the Xsara Picasso. I currently drive a 1998 Nissan Almera 1.6 5dr Auto, and when I test drove the "51" plated Picasso 1.6i SX today, I found it strange at first in the position of the Gearstick, which is part of the centre of the dashboard, but got on well with it.

During my test drive, I obviously could see how spacious it was on the inside, but I could feel the spaciousness driving along. I have read in reviews that the 1.6 is underpowered, but I didn't really feel the lack of power, even after driving my Almera 1.6 automatic. I only test drove for about 2 miles, but it felt smooth and relaxing to drive.

The ability the completely remove the back seats individually is excellent, however, the chances of me needing to do that at the moment are extremely thin.

The only thing I have got against it, is the position of the speedo, etc. I wish that the speedo and that, was more over to the driver's side. But despite that, I have seriously got my heart set on it already, and can't wait to do a deal!!!

My Wife Drives A 2002 Citroen Xsara Picasso, Bough

My wife drives a 2002 Citroen Xsara Picasso, bought as 1 owner, fsh, 35,000m and the vehicle has been professionally serviced ever since.

The seating material pulls against your clothes like Velcro and now after an additional 20,000m the action of body weight constantly pulling against the seat seems to have loosened the seat mounting bolts!

The power steering pump leaked from it's union and dumped oil straight into the alternator, this is not an uncommon problem apparently - this cost me £450.00 to put right last year.

The dashboard electrics are faulty, this again is not an uncommon but costs so much to rectify I am not bothering. The fuel gauge is extremely unreliable. Even after having the software updated the vehicle still stalls constantly in the cold, the heater is awful, it is hard to park because of the body shape/visibility and it depreciates like a stone. I am happy to say that this vehicle is about to be part exchanged as it is without doubt one of the most generally unreliable and thoroughly unpleasant cars it has been my misfortune to own.

I Have Had The Citroen Xsara Picasso For Nearly 3

I have had the Citroen Xsara Picasso for nearly 3 years with no major problems good at MOTs etc until friday night while driving it decided to set its self on fire (engine) so beware no problems before hand nothing to indicate major problem just cut out started smoking within 4 mins front of cars blazing away and I always had it serviced, had it looked at when something was slightly wrong so in good condition BEWARE.

I Bought My Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6i Sx People C

I bought my Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6i SX People Carrier from a leasing company when mileage was 62k. Have been extremely pleased with it, although I have had a few problems with stalling during hazardous conditions, had garage look at it but to no avail! This is a great car otherwise and I have driven to France for the last 3 years with no problem whatsoever, have loved driving it, great for kids, and trips to IKEA etc as seats come out easily. Overall would recommend and am now looking to upgrage to a C8 if I can possibly afford it!

Not Being A Citroen Man I Was Persuaded By My Wife

Not being a citroen man I was persuaded by my wife when looking for a second car to try out the Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6i SX People Carrier at our local main dealer due to our new arrival! From the moment we sat in the car we both loved it and to drive it conviced me more that it was the right car.

Very comfortable with air con, cd player etc.

My wife has taken to the car very well after changing from a clio to such a big car!

IF you are considering buying one i would highly recommend this car you will not regret it!

I found this review not helpful because...it's very brief, not a lot of thought was spent on it. Doesn't tell me enough!

I Actually Bought The Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.8 Sx

I actually bought the Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.8 SX in the belief there would be a good deal more power than the 1.6, however the performance enhancement is frankly negligible and buyers would do well to stick with the 1.6. To use an mpv cliche` it really did suprise in the storage stakes particularly with the seats flat, and the rear passengers reported excellent legroom. The folddown trays on the back of the seats are break proof and are easily slotted back into position. The downside is there relatively flimsy construction...on the whole a good buy and the savings outweigh any drawbacks in flexibilty.
