Cleared My Balance At The Start Of The Month Leavi

Cleared my balance at the start of the month leaving just £17 remaining to pay off. Interest charged for this month was £37. Phoned up and queried why and they explained that interest is calculated on the starting balance for each month not the closing balance. I said "that's Ludacris, every customer has to make 2 payments to clear their card, one to clear the balance, then one to clear the interest charged". The response I got was "that's just how it is".

Interest is too high

Nightmare Card

Please stay away from this card it is a nightmare to manage. I missed one payment by 12 hours and I got absolutely harassed morning noon and night by them calling me, once I made the payment it obviously never showed on there computers as they kept calling me for the next week every single day! This crowd is just a bunch of rude people who need reported to be honest, I can't believe they are still in business.

Few Basic Problems Sorted!

Had to make a few adjustments, including incorrect direct debit amount (£1,300 - oops!).

The phone was answered promptly, efficiently and the problem sorted with no fuss!

Outstanding!

Other banks and credit card providers should learn a lesson

Credit Limit Reduced Because Of Halifax' Own Error

I'd give no stars at all but that isn't possible.

I've had a Halifax Credit Card for several years and never missed a payment. I cleared the account balance earlier this year with a good balance transfer deal from another card provider. I recently changed my job and didn't get the Company credit card with the new employer so I dug out my Halifax card so I could start with a clean sheet and use it for company expenses. Asked them to set-up the new Direct Debit in September giving enough time for the DD to be setup and collected in November. On checking my statement on-line whilst reconciling my expenses I noticed i had been hit with a £12.00 late payment fee and my bank had refused payment. Called Halifax and was told the that I would have to contact my bank to find out why the payment had be refused. This I did and it turns out that Halifax never sent the DD setup request so the Bank did not have my authorization to pay it. Just received a snotty letter ( followed by a angry 'phone call) from Halifax telling me that my Credit Limit has been reduced to £500 as I missed a payment.

they refused to reinstate my previous Credit Limit without going through a patronizing round of have you got...what are the balances...can you afford it.. questions.

Card is going back to them in pieces. Rubbish customer service.

Glad I've got that off my chest ;-)

Does The Job, Nothing Special

The best thing about this card is a low % interest rate. Besides that there is nothing good really its all average. They used to give me a high credit amount but reduced it by 80% randomly one day in 2011 perhaps due to the economy despite me never missing a payment in 5 years. No problem with charges and not excessive when using abroad. No loyalty points is a big let down so I'm thinking about cancelling it. Difficult to pay off amounts unless you're a Halifax banking customer, had to do direct bank transfer which was aggro.

Terrible Service

ive had a halifax one card for a few years now and I must say they are the worst to deal with, from extortionate interest rates to lowering my limit without justification,to even screwing up my mortgage application. im now in the process of paying off all money owed and will close account and never use again, and i strongly urge no one else to use them either.much better when they were a building society.

Never Received The Card

Applied for this card 3 weeks ago. Called today to check where is my credit card and pin as I have received nothing through the post. They told me they sent it to a wrong address despite it being correct on the credit card agreement and now I have to go to a branch and change my address even though I do not have any reference number nor do I have a current account with Halifax etc. I plan to call to customer service again and confirm if it is true that if I do not have a current account with Halifax I will not be able to use this credit card for online payments and if it is I will cancel this card.

People in customer service were very helpful though, for this reason I gave this card 2 stars.

Used Natwest credit card for over a year, never had any problems. I do not have any balance, the reason I applied for this card was the interest-free period.

I understand that it is my fault not checking the reviews before I applied for this card. However in my defence for some reason this card was on the top of the list on moneysupermarket.com website when I searched interest-free credit cards.

Reduced Credit Limit No Notice

My partner & I have a joint account. Without notice today my partner recieved a text to advise that our credit limit has been reduced from £15k to less than £2k ( we usually spend in excess of £4 k per month and pay it off without fail )) I am disgusted that a bank can do this with out any prior notice or warning! When we called to check on this we were as usual passed from pillar to post, then to be advised we had gone over our new limit that we are unware of by some £27 and will incur charges!!!! This is the 3rd issue we have had within the last few months. They initially cancelled paper statements and wrote to me to advise my partner had requested this which was lie. The second issue was that I called to advise i was going abroad and not to stop my card ( this had been done in the past) to be ask obsurd questions such as my on line password ( i do not online bank ) and also the date i opened my account- having had an account for some 20 years i do not recall the date! i would question any bank manager to recall that date! I am well amazed that they treat long term paying customers in such a way. Maybe the answer would have been not to make my payments so they could have made money out of me! I would not recommend this bank in any way and will be moving all of my accounts elsewhere along with my families that also bank with them ! Disgrace Haliax! I shall also be making a complaint with the ombusdman!

Poor Customer Service & Who Knows Where The Card Is!!

Applied & was instantly accepted for a Halifax Credit Card online nearly 3 weeks ago & yet I still dont have a card through! I actually received the pin number through a week ago with a letter stating that the card will be with me in a few days, but unless the definition of a few has changed then that hasnt happened! I actually needed to card to buy a car this weekend & as most people probably would I thought 3 weeks prior would be plenty of time... maybe if I hadnt gone with Halifax it would have been!! I made a complaint to them about the time it has taken this morning & was told that as it is still inside 3 weeks (by 2 days!) they are closing my complaint& I have to wait to see if the card will be with me!! Utterly uselss so I have had to apply for a personal loan instead, even if it arrives I dont want to use their credit card now anyway now!!!
