Hol 2012
We have been here several times although this was our first time all inclusive, food was excellent at all times and staff friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel room was very clean, but as we were there in april the room was very cold at night and our heating did not work, maid came in every day to make beds and leave clean towels only problem was she moved all our personal belongings each day and left our balcony door open which was very annoying as we were on the first floor....anyone could have got into our room, being all inclusive they still charged us 20 euros for remote control for tv and also charge for wifi, very hard to get a sunbed at the pool unless you are down at 8am.Entertainment in hotel was very poor especially as we had our 14 year old daughter with us, she was totally bored....Most places closed down or shut for season.....dont holiday here in april as theres nothing to do, especially if you have teenagers, hotel very noisy as guests banging doors and very noisy above rooms. i would not reccomend this hotel to anyone with children especially teenagers and definately dont go in april, we definately wont be back. again.

The Cala Gran
I went to cala gran in 2008 and we booked a studio at the cala gran. I have to say the studios were very basic, however they were quite spacious compared to some studios that I have stayed in before, it was also kept very clean, and I found the cleaners very friendly too. I loved the pool, and the surrounding area, it was very peacefull and cool under the trees. I also liked the fact that this hotel was only afew minutes from the beach and close to the town centre aswell. I liked the fact that alot of places were close by like pubs and restaurants yet there was no loud noise or disturbances at night time. The staff were extrememly friendly and always said hello when they passed by. I really cant find anything wrong with this place, and the added bonus is that the beach is so close by. I was looking for a nice chilling holiday and this is what I got when I came to cala gran hotel, it was a very pleasant stay I really can not fault it. I loved the relaxed atmosphere of this place and cala gran beach is absolutely beautifull too. I would recommend this hotel if your looking for a relaxing holiday, yet have all your restaurants, shops, pubs, near by.

This Is Our 3rd Year Here And The Worst Year Here!
this is our 3rd year here and the worst year here! 3 adults and 1 child in a room for 2 with rusty bunk beds.No view with rafia fencing to stop people looking in from road!very dingy without the sunlight and only 3 sidelights in room[2026].Went to get lilo from our room on day 4 and was told not to come into our room by very rude cleaner who continued to mutter under her breathe as i ignored her ORDER.moved rooms to 2128 very nice but should have had at start of holiday. The night man on reception very rude and carried a police batton god knows why as there was no trouble at hotel but he hated kids which was obvious!!food was cheap and bland.Drinks in plastic cups reminded me of 'IT'A KNOCKOUT'as our room was up the stairs, along the corridor, across the bridge,up more stairs,HERE COME THE BELGIUMS!!joke and so was the hotel.sorry.

Returned From The Hotel Cala Gran/ Cala Sur 19/06/
Returned from the hotel Cala Gran/ Cala Sur 19/06/2010,went all inclusive, had a great time food excellent. had room 2127 which was kept very clean. Booked holiday through Jet2 holidays which managed the holiday from day 1 with no problems at all. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, always plenty to do during day and entertainment most evenings. The staff was friendly and could not do enough to make sure my stay was a good one.
The food was varied from day to day with meat, fish, and salad dishes daily, both lunch time and evening. Breakfast was either continental or full English you could eat has much or has little as you wanted at all meal times.
Their is five swimming pools which are kept spotlessly clean and plenty of sun beds.
Overall a excellent family hotell

First Of All We Went Self Catering So Didn't Eat A
First of all we went self catering so didn't eat any of the food in the hotel, but i had to rate so i put a 3 and hope that the food was good for other people. I have never been to Cala D'or before but loved it. The hotel was great. It was 5 minutes from a beautiful beach, which was really a small cove but plenty room for everyone. After a couple of days we found another cove which was about 10 mins away so we went there as it wasn't as busy as the other. When we booked we asked for a couple of things, like non smoking room and a balcony, we got everything we asked for. There was a kettle, fridge with a freezer, great shower and like someone else said the quietest air conditioning that worked in all the rooms! We even had a room over looking the pool(great when you have kids). The pool was nice, had separate small pool and was cleaned and tidied every day. Our rooms had clean towels every day and the reception staff where very nice. We did notice ants in some areas but we noticed them in a few other places we went to.
There where plenty of restaurants to go to, great bar that had a live band on every night if you wanted a bit more and everything shut down at 12.00 which was plenty late for us.
We had hired a car for the week which was good as we had a couple of cloudy days when it wasn't as hot so we went sightseeing on those days.
All in all we had great time and would go back again both to the resort and the same hotel.

How Any One Can Write Negative Things About The H
How any one can write negative things about the Hotel Cala Gran is beyond me! The room was plenty big enough even though we had a cot in it, and it was spotlessly clean. The maid came in every day and gave clean towels, made the beds, cleaned up etc every day. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food in the dining room was always hot, freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice. The hotel is located 2 mins fron the beach and there are also good pools to choose from within the hotel grounds which are also extremely clean and tidy.
After reading some of the other reviews I wasnt particularly looking forward to what I might find at this hotel, but in my experience any negative thoughts were totally unfounded.!!

On Arrival On August 26th At Noon I Was Told That
On arrival on August 26th at noon I was told that my room would not be ready until 1.00pm and to sit in reception rather sharply by the LADY on reception no offer of a cup of tea / coffee or even a beer while waiting, her reception skills were very poor and yes I do know what I am talking about as I used to work in the service sector and also my sister also worked in hotel reception from 1980s -early 2000s.After getting key for ROOM 327 WHAT A POOR ROOM the only good points of the room was that it was on the first floor and a big room. On entering the room the curtains were drawn and the room very dark and on opening the curtains to expecting to find patio door and balcony only to find a small window with its shutters shut and on opening the window and shutters to find a view on to a flat roof also one of the shutters would not fully open because of fire exit stairs and with the shutters shut you needed the light on all the time. Another complaint about the room was that you needed to run the hot water shower for up to 5 minutes before you had hot water come through this was not first thing in the morning but late afternoon and the room was not cleaned until after 1500 most days one day not cleaned at all.The bar staff and dinning room staff and the MEN ONLY on reception were excellent but the food was a let down. The soups were very watery and not cream soup at all. The cold buffet was good but the hot meal had very poor choice only 1 meat 1 fish 1 veggie to choice from and of poor quality. The dessert could also have been better and closing I did eat out a few times and found the Cheers bar and The Duke of Devonshire both excellent also The Wet your Whistle bar next to Rasha tattoist for a drink good as well also the tattooist is very good as well.In closing I would rate this hotel as zero minus at least 3 stars.
