Outdoor Shots Are Brilliant With The Pentax Option
Outdoor shots are brilliant with the Pentax option S40 digital camera, but colour is often poor on flash shots. I would not buy another camera with AA batteries as they run out so fast. I found it very slow if you want to take a run of photo's quickly.

Pentax Optio S40 - After Reading A Range Of Review
Pentax Optio S40 - After reading a range of reviews on this site and others, I was a little unsure as to what camera to buy. I decided early on that it must be 4mp, use AA batteries and use either SD or CF. After reviewing what was available in this country (New Zealand,) the choice came down to 2 cameras, both with a pretty similar price, this, the Optio S40, and the Casio QV-R40. After looking at even more reviews and going into the shop to compare cameras, the Optio won out. The camera's compact size was a major factor, although the Casio did have a bigger LCD.
Now that I have got the camera I am extremely happy with it. It's a great size and fits easily into my pocket. It has great functions and is easy to use for a beginner, as well as the intermediate user like myself. It has a great number of functions such as 'panorama assist' and 'split shots' that I didn't even know were there until I read the manual.
Overall, I would have so say that the camera is a good buy, and despite some so-so reviews online, I think that it will just prove itself to be better as I use it more.
