Cala Marina D'or, Casa Valania

Casa Valania was reasonably comfortable but fixtures & fittings are below the standard I considered reasonable for the price charged. The resort of Cala Egos is purpose built and lacks any Majorcan character.

The second bedroom spelt damp / musty to the point of us not being happy for our daughter to sleep in the room. However my main complaint with the villa was the unreasonable damage charges deducted at the end of our stay. On discussion with the owner their view is that the villa should be left in the condition you find it (quite why you pay for cleaning is unclear) with charges (20E per bin) made for anything left in bins and a complaint that dishwasher was left full i.e. set to run as we left with that mornings breakfast things and also some clothes hangers left on the bed.

I urge anyone renting the property to take a full inventory and report any damage immediately on arrival. We found the iron was damaged the day before we left but thought nothing of it. However we have now been charged 60E to replace it and a E20 delivery fee!
