I Loved My Chintu Little Gd55 Black & White Which
I loved my chintu little GD55 Black & White which I owned in the years 2004 and 2005. Finally it stopped working but because of my mistake - I took it during a rain treck but did not cover it in plastic. Till that point it was working very well. It was the smallest size in the world and I loved the convenience it had due to its extra small size.. If Panasonic continues this model, I'd love to buy the color display version.

The Reason I Chose This Phone Was For The Small Si
The reason I chose this phone was for the small size and light weight making it easy to carry in a pocket. However I don't recommend this phone as the back has a tendency to fall off which isn't good when you're waiting on a call or text. It can also be slow at sending texts and sometimes I'm notified of an incoming message but it won't open! Many other flaws too

This Is Meant For Only Calling And Emergency. If
This is meant for ONLY calling and emergency. If you want the basics, it's here. Meant for only small fingers. I just remembered I heard there was a speaker for this. I have to check up on that. I have to say I LOVE this phone. My sister thought it looked like a toy. She is more into mp3 and camera while I am more for basic usage. I got it for $60 on eBay used and got a faceplate for $10.
Update:
It's been about 9months since I've had my used phone.
1. Other things I've noticed is that occasionally the screen freezes on me, so I have to pull off the battery and put it back in. Then it works normally after that until the next freeze. It's not often maybe... once in two weeks or more. Not a big deal.
2. Do NOT put it in your thin jacket because if you swing it too much & bang it against things, the battery will pop off. If it pop off hard enough, it will break the clip that holds the battery. Then you'll have to tie it up with rubber bands or get a new faceplate, which I did change. I still love the phone though. So buying another faceplate is worth keeping the battery. I usually put the phone in a pouch and keep it in my hand or purse to prevent bumping.
3. I've noticed that talk time is about 2 hours on full but 2-3 days on standby.
4. If you click on phone book or press call immediately after turning on your phone, it will take 30secs or more to load the screen. It's a long wait for me. So try to hold off calling when you turn it on for a few seconds. It's probably quicker if you do that first.
5. I hate charging. The connection to the phone is TERRIBLE & sometimes does not charge. I have to sit there and twist the phone around to charge. The way I charge is putting the phone connected off an edge so that it kinda hangs tilted backwards and then put something heavy on the charger connector (as it's holding onto the phone), so that the phone don't fall off. The time to charge is 2-3 hours. Very Awkward.
6. I has a very slight lower signal than other phones in the same service.
7. I get bunches of comments and everyone loves it. Woohoo!

This Little Cellphone Looks Nice And All, But It I
This little cellphone looks nice and all, but it isn't the best. I think you have to pay $0.10 for text messaging? I'm not sure though. My mom bought me this. For beginners like myself, it's a bit hard to use. The buttons are small too. I'm having a bit of trouble with ring tones, and wallpapers.

I Have Owned A Panasonic Gd55 For About 6 Months N
I have owned a Panasonic GD55 for about 6 months now, and overall I have to say that it is a very good phone, with only a few flaws.
The phone comes with 30 good-quality polyphonic ringtones, and you can compose 5 ringtones, also polyphonic. The size, shape and design of the phone is generally feminine, and is very useful in that it can fit almost anywhere, e.g. in your pocket or a small bag. However for some people the size may prove to be a difficulty, because it can be difficult to talk into, or because the keys are very small and slide easily.
The battery life for this phone is very good for it's size. The battery indicator is located on the top right corner of the screen, and is easy to see. With normal use, the battery lasts for about 3 days. I have found this to be a very good thing, because of the terrible battery charger. The connection between the phone and the battery charger is very very small, and if you do not check it every few minutes, the charger will slide out and your phone will not be charged.
The phone has a very useful and good-quality speaker phone. The sound quality and loud and clear, with almost no feedback or crackling. Speaker phone can be activated by pressing only 2 buttons.
The phonebook stores 250 numbers, which for me has been more than enough. With this phone you can put your contacts in different 'groups', which means that different people can have different ringtones set for them etc. The text message storage is not as good, storing between 10-20 messages depending on which network you use. Text messaging is easy if you are familiar with T9, have small fingers and don't use a lot of punctuation! Otherwise, it is very difficult. You can turn off T9 with one button, but you have to press it every single time you type a text message. Punctuation is limited with no '@' sign, and takes ages to use. For example, to get one quotation mark you need to press a button 13 times. Also, sometimes the phone will suddenly ask you to send the message while you are typing. There is no way to tell whether or not you have sent a message.
There is only 1 game on this phone, which is a pretty boring game where mice and cats jump out of holes and you have to hit the mice. You cannot download games, and the high-score for this game can only go up to 30, and afterward you can never clear the high-score, so it will always remain at 30.
Some of the applications on this phone include a schedule, calculator, and currency converter. The schedule is pretty difficult to use, and there is no option to set alarms for appointments. The calculator is absolutely useless, and it probably takes as much time and energy to run up and down a flight of stairs 20 times as to calculating one sum.
However despite these bad points, the phone is good for those of you who just want a simple phone that is easy to talk on, nice to see, has good reception and good ringtones.

Like Most People Who Have Plumped For The Gd55, My
Like most people who have plumped for the GD55, my initial reason for doing so was the attractiveness of the size and weight of this phone. Having previously owned a Panasonic GD67, which gave me countless problems after a period of about 4 months and unrepairable by the centralised Panasonic repair centre, I decided to opt for the GD55. How so wrong a decision that has proved to be! After 7 months the phone has developed a complete mind of its own and is currently unuseable for anything! The GD67 problem was, I believe, a software problem and I suspect the same to be the case with the GD55. Bad luck on my part or are Panasonic having phone software issues?? How many current users have experienced sudden, unprompted changes in screen options or asking you if you want to send a text while your still actually trying to type it?
As far as the phone itself is concerned, I found it useful for my purpose. The speaker phone is suprisingly good and clear for a phone this size. Battery Life really is pleasantly suprising & outperforms many others. Colour screen on this one without affecting the price too much would be a big bonus. Sort out the software problems first though Panasonic..my phone's on it's way to your repair centre!

When I First Started Using This Panasonic Gd55 Mob
when i first started using this Panasonic GD55 mobile phone i loved it because of its cute size, good quality ringtones and nice backgrounds. i found that the ringtone composer was very easy to use, with a number of instruments to select from. however i text my friends a lot, and i have to admit this phone is a bit difficult to text with for new users. the keys are very close together making it easy to slip and press the wrong key. also, if you stop moving or if you press a random button after a length of time it will suddenly ask you to send the message. another bad thing is that when you use a background, it takes up the whole screen and you cannot see the time and date anymore. however you can easily access this by using your "own menu", but this still slows it down.
