I had recently ordered a Canon Digital Rebel XT (body
only) from their online store. One of their representatives called me two
days later and said the camera advertised was "an overseas model." He then
cancelled that order and tried to get me to buy the "USA model" for twice
the cost. Not only did the web page not indicate this "model" issue, it
actually makes no sense.

Much Like Everyone Else, I Had The Same Experience
Much like everyone else, I had the same experience with InfinitiPhoto. I bought a Nikon D70S for less than anywhere else. I called to get it confirmed and I got 'upsold' on a battery and charger for several hundred dollars. I told them I did not want them and they told me they couldn't fulfil the order without them. They then tried to charge me a restocking fee. I had to contact the credit card company and report it.

I called InfinitiPhoto to order a DVD camcorder at $499 found at their website.
They asked for the credit card information which I gave them without doubt.
Then, something happened. They told me that total is not $499, it's $699. Because camera comes with UV filter and external quick charger, which is boundled for sale. Means that I have to buy them together.
I declined that offer, and told them clearly that I need to cancel the order. They rudely told me no, you are not allowed to cancel the order. What a surprise.
Have to refuse their shipment when they arrived, but my credit card was charged in full $700. Had to contact my credit card company to get my money back. During this, they played another trick, tried to refund me a partial $500, and took left $200 as their restocking fee, what a profit!
Don't buy from them, and stay away!

The Infinitiphoto Online Camera Shop Suck You In B
The Infinitiphoto online camera shop suck you in by underpricing something. I bought an HD camcorder for $300 less than it was advertised elsewhere, and $1,000 less than at reputable dealers.
Then a sales guy calls you, supposedly to verify the expiration date on my credit card, and proceeds to sell you a bunch of over-priced knock-off Chinese rubbish - $1,000 for a battery charger, etc. - that he tells you you need.
I hummed and hawed, but like an idiot I eventually gave in and ended up adding $3,000 to my order with this, that and the other thing - a total of $7,000.
Whatever money I might have saved on the camcorder I doubled or tripled and lost on the generic Chinese batter/charger.

So My Wife Wants This Nice Camera For Christmas. (
So my wife wants this nice camera for Christmas. (a Nikon d70s specifically). Infiniti Photo, aka Best Price Cameras, has a ridiculous low price on their site. Now I've been through this with liquidators that advertise something on the net selling under most stores' cost price, and then make it up through bait and switch or hard up-sell tactics. Being prepared ahead of time, I politely told them, when I received my order confirmation email, that I was on the road and could not call them to (for some reason), confirm it yet again. I wait to see if they send the thing without me calling to hear about everything else they want me to buy. In the meantime, I researched and found other outlets claim the battery doesn't come with it, which of course it does under normal circumstances. I also find out these guys sell gray market products to get the price low. So I call to see where the thing is, and they still have not processed it, claiming they were waiting for confirmation (aka, to talk to me to get a shot at selling something else), which I already did twice. Sure enough, when quizzed, the battery isn't with theirs, but they could include one with charger for $300. Expecting this, I already knew I could get the battery and charger for about $100 anywhere, and told him to ship without. Now a camera that was available all of a sudden has a four week wait. Since they knew I wanted it shipped by Christmas, but screwed around with the order anyway, I had to let my wife know this would be belated. She was fine with the delay as the price was still hard to ignore. I know I was dealing with sleazy people to get price. I could handle them and that's not my complaint. What bothers me is that since it was grey market, we checked with them (always a half hour hold) one more time to assure we could use it. Sure enough, no books come with it and this version's menu was all in Malaysian. The CSR states, your salesman Bruce should have told you that. Well so should your website. So we said we couldn't use that and to cancel. Curt CSR boy states Bruce already did. Because there was no commission without the add-on battery? Nobody told him to cancel anything, and had we not called, we would be waiting a month for something that had no intention of being shipped.
So my point is don't even bother with these crooks. Even if you think you know the game, they reinvent it. You wait forever to talk to someone, they take your order, and may process it if they feel like it (as in if you bought enough), and if you do get something from them, it may not even be in a language you understand.
I Originally Ordered D 50 Nikon From Infiniti Phot
I originally ordered D 50 NIKON from Infiniti Photo waited a couple of day .. send them an email and asked them to be very careful and include everything which is in the original box as received from Nikon ...
Anyhow I called them the next day after I send the email (Now the order was there for 4 - 5 days). Now I was prepared for this call and after 1 1/2 hour of waitng in line and talked to several people in between , just to be put back to hold and waiting longer. Ok finally I get that person and they actually find my order as well. Now I ask them if they have a tracking number for me, he gets all annoyed and says your order is cancelled. Darn I was supposed to have a little fun with the guys,, don't I ?
No. after 2 hours on the phone this was WAY TO EASY I immediately called the credit card company and tried to make sure that they cannot do anything with my credit card...
Than I relaxed and ordered the camera and a few extra accessories from B & H. Now I have spent roughly 300 bucks or more on one of those package deals on ebay... but in all reality. I have a better tripod (a compact one, which will fit in the bag) more storage (1 extra 512 card) plus the one gig, a lens cover to protect the 18-55 Nikon lense and such, a remote shutter release.
I also ordered a Nikon D50 from this "company" never received a confirmation after 5 days I called and was told since I was having the equipment shipped to my office I had to call the credit card company and tell them that I authorize this address? It would also hold up the shipment. I then told them to ship to my home address and the sales rep seem agitated and said that I would have to order an additional memory card as well as extended warranty. This vendor is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. Clearly they like to bait and switch. I cancelled the order and bought the camera from someone else.

Bought Lowest Found Priced Canon Dv Camcorder At I
Bought lowest found priced Canon DV camcorder at InfinitiPhoto. After 2 days, company called and asked what size battery I wanted with this camcorder and gave me $70-$130 price range. I was told battery is not included in cost when I asked where the battery was that Canon put in the box at the factory? Said 2 types of kits are sent to authorized sellers, with and without battery. I chose lowest priced battery, instead of cancelling, because the price was still lower than anywhere else. 3 days later, after seeing money gone from my account $95.00 more than authorized to seller, I called and was told there was an extra fee for shipping the battery in the box and also an additional insurance fee for the battery. The whole package weighed 2.0lbs for the camera, manuals, accessories and battery and was all in one box. I am contacting Mastercard about this practice and also the BBB and New York Attorney General about this fraudulent practice.
