Reggae Reggae Sauce

To me is tastes just like brown sauce with a mild heat to it, nothing special.

I remember thinking this FAD sauce would die out a year after dragons den. But it didn't, so i decided i would give it a try, see what all the hype is about. Now I put the stuff on everything!! its replaced my ketchup!

This is all heat but no flavour. The other products in this line are the same.

A gimmic with no taste that would never be in the shops without the dragons and shouldn't be in your cupboard.

A good friend introduced our family to Reggae Reggae Sauce when they came over for a BBQ about a month ago (I didn't believe the original hype - and we don't have a Sainsburys nearby). Since then we have practically had it with every meal - OK, the kids find it too spicy, but us grown ups absolutely love it! It's basically the new ketchup in our house and I couldn't recommend it enough!

When I nipped over to the supermarket at lunch the other day a girl in my office asked me to pick up a bottle of this, because her husband had ran out and he loves it. Now I know the history from Dragons den, but I thought it was all just hype. However, here I had a personal recommendation. Obviously I got 2 bottles (1 for her and 1 for me).

WOW! It's amazing. Sweet & spicy and unlike anything else I'd ever had.

Now I love spicy food, but getting the family to eat curry every night is not easy. No I don't even need to. It probably goes with about 50% of what we eat so I can have a spicy alternative whilst everyone else has plain food.

quality sauce, well worth the minimal cash it cost. Really can liven up a boring chicken sandwich.

It does this with its own unique blend of spices which reflects its Caribbean influence. Most people think of Caribbean food and think of heat, this sauce is fine for everyone. It definitely has flavor but not that punch you would expect from a Caribbean sauce.

Sauce was nice but i believe there are better sauces out there.

Howver saying this, i will still buy this and add it to my sauce collection :)

I used to use this sauce for burgers before dieting and this sauce made my burgers taste amazing. The sauce is expensive compared to other sauces on the supermarkeyt shelf but non have the same taste as this one which has a unique flavour.

I alwys have used the Jerk sauce but I do not know what newer ones like tomato are like?

This sauce is worth a try if you are willing to pay the premuium price.

This sauce is just one i tell my friends and family they must try, it is a little spicy but you soon get use to it and often find yoursef putting it on everything even fish and chips, great buy, go out and get some.

I fried some chicken breast, added the sauce and simmered it for the recommended time. The aroma was lovely – just like many authentic jerk-style sauces I’ve tried (although this is the first and last time one comes out of a jar, or contained tomatoes). On initial impressions (colour aside) it seemed like a winner.

Being absolutely starving, I got stuck right in once the rice was ready. However, the hunger rapidly subsided after only two small mouthfuls.

The sauce had a great chilli kick to it but was so ridiculously sweet that it was unbearable. I deplore food wastage but there was no way to salvage the chicken or rice that had been tainted by the sauce. Unfortunately, the whole lot ended up in the bin, so I ate the plain leftover rice, which was very bland but preferable to eating a plate full of treacle for a main course.

Looking at the info on the jar, at 123 calories per 100g, this sauce hangs heavier on your waistline than many curries. Unsurprisingly, the first ingredient listed is.... yes, you guessed it... sugar! As the remainder of the ingredients are tomato products, herbs and spices, it’s pretty obvious where this sauce gets its high calorie content from...

I’m not a fussy eater at all and will eat almost anything put on front of me, but I would sooner drink the drippings from a marathon runners’ socks than eat this garbage ever again.
