No Major Problems Experienced
Had a 240 installed in my flat in 2005. In 2007 the hot water thermistor needed replacing at a cost of £77. Otherwise reliable to at least 2015 when I sold the flat.
I have no experience of Alpha's servicing because I always used my own heating engineer/plumber who recommended and installed the boiler.

Warranty Means Nothing To Alpha
Alpha Boiler 2 years into 7 year warranty
Wednesday morning - Day 1 - First morning off work due to Alpha - 8am i first made contact to state my boiler wasn't working and was leaking all over the utility. Response took a while and stated the earliest they could send somebody out was 8:30am the following morning. I asked what kind of service is this. their response was that they are not a service they are the manufacturer and that they only have to show up within 30days to meet with the requirements of the law. Why offer a warranty if you don't offer a break down service?
Thursday morning - Day 2 - Second morning off work due to Alpha - 24 hours freezing cold, no shower - 8:30 the technician arrives, states the "gas saver" is broken. I was then told this is a 5 hour job and that replacing a boiler is only 2 hours, i then said replace the boiler then. His response being you'd have no chance in getting Alpha to do that and Depending on whether they have a Gas Saver in stock it could take 3 weeks as they would have to fly one in from Italy (Coming from the company that claim to be a manufacturer.) Turns out they have one in stock (Kent) and im from Greater Manchester. I was then told by the technician to expect a phone call next week and we could expect you to get up and running at the back end of next week. I let him leave and phoned up customer services who i had to argue my case with to arrange this to be installed on Friday and that fed-ex would be sending one up over night and to take Friday off work to be in when they arrive before 10:30am.
Friday Morning - Day 3 - 3rd Day off work due to Alpha - 48 hours freezing cold, no shower - 10:30 passes, receive call at 11:00 from customer service to state fed ex have let them down and that the earliest they can get it to me is Saturday morning. Bullpoo! I have well and truly had the Pizz taken out of me by alpha. The customer service stated he has pulled out all the stops to get a boiler to me and the part and it isn't possible as everything is in Kent - i said i don't care if it is a 5 hour journey and to arrange a courier, he has tried everything. So i have now taken 3 Days annual leave sat at home freezing cold, no boiler, no heating, no hot water. Planned on going to Sorrento in February for a long weekend. not happening anymore as i have no leave left. CHEERS ALPHA! Merry Christmas to all of you...
See you on Saturday, they 4th day that i will waste sat in doors waiting for you to arrive.. Which is very doubtful
Also, thanks for the "hundreds of pounds of vouchers to say sorry" your sending in the post. probably going to be for Woolworths or your own shat product. i really look forward to being let down again tomorrow ALPHA!
Apologies to whoever reads this in advance for the really bad spelling and grammar. Im currently seeing red + This is the first time i have every felt the need to leave a review.

Customer Service Rip Off
Thought I would give alpha customer service a try as I thought they would carry all the spares they need to get our boiler operating correctly again. The problem was the hot water side was running hot and cold. So after paying my £250 odd up front I waited 6 days for a engineer to show up, when he did after lifting off the front he quickly said it was an uneconomical repair, and that i needed a new boiler and promptly left, 2 minutes on the premises. Phoned up customer services to get a refund minus the £60 call out. Seems to me that's all the engineers are after, a few of them a day will do nicely. Called in a plumber that I normally use and he quickly found the problem as a split in a rubber seal, replaced it and alls fine. So to anybody considering using Alpha, DON'T

Alpha Boiler Cd 25c
My 6 year old boiler has just been repaired for the 4th time since October 2010 by the excellent local agent. Based on my experience in other houses I have lived in, I will in due course replace it with one made in Germany! This boiler is a fine example of why the UK is a manufacturing backwater; sad but true.

Bad Customer Service
Have a problem with my combi boiler for months and have had a call for the past 6 months. I have an insurance plan with them, which is in reality with Homeserve. They just pass the buck between them. No result. Just sit and wait for their lying engineers who say they call or leave messages. I guess you must be a lying b@s*** to be an Alpha engineer and customer service technicians.
To be avoided just for their customer service.
Poor Service For Alpha Cd35c Boiler Under Warranty.
I have a problem with my Alpha CD35C poiler that is still under warranty. When I contacted Alpha there was the usual 15 minute wait in a queue. Spoke to Rob who informed me that the builder had never registered the boiler as being installed. Told me he could not enter it in the system without the Gas Safe licence number of the installer. I found this and contacted Alpha again. Spoke to Ben. He informed me that the system did not accept this number so still could not request a callout. I then phoned Gas Safe and managed to get the Registration number of the builder. They told me that the number I gave Alpha was a recognised LICENCE number but was out of date. They could not give me the new Licence number because of the Data Protection Act (Yet another example of this act getting in the way of common sense). Why could Alpha not have made this one phone call? Back to alpha and Ben and was then informed that this number was OK. Callout requested and informed that it would take 2 - 3 working days. Asked if it could happen sooner as we are both in our seventies and this is the only form of heating we have but was told this is it. Overnight temperature is below zero here. Received a call from the heating engineer and told that the earliest call will be in two days time. NOT VERY GOOD ALPHA.......

Very Reliable Dependable
Extremely reliable Alpha 240e combi boiler. We had it installed in early winter 1999 and although it has been on the blink for over 2 years, it has still given us a great service. Would happily replace it with another. Reliability, useful timer and ease of use for us novices, were all bonuses for us.

Alpha Boiler Customer Service Awful Dont Use Them !
I have just had a problem with my Alpha boiler I contacted Alpha who asked for an up front payment of £275 and was told someone would call that day and be with me in 48hr. The sevice has beed terrible. First a lost job sheet then the enginer saying he called and left a message (no messages left) I have been sitting by the phone for 4 days and its now the weekend and the responce from Alpha they do not know when some one will call to make an appointment or when anyone will be with me and very rudely just told me to have a refund - thats very helpfull its now the weekend. Don't use Alpha! It was great customer service when they took my money. I have a new baby in the house. All I would ask from them is to be honest and polite to their costomers

Do Not Buy An Alpha Boiler!!! I Have Had My Curre
DO NOT BUY AN ALPHA BOILER!!! I have had my current Alpha Combi Boiler for 4yrs and for the first yr it was fine and then the problems start! Over the last 3yrs my boiler has been broken for atleast 6-8wks every yr. I had a service contract with my gas supplier and they could not get parts for it from Alpha. I have now had to go to the extreme and costly lengths of replacing my boiler in a few days time and I can not wait! Just tonight my 2 daughters have had to have freezing cold baths as the boiler would not heat the water AGAIN! As I have already stated - DO NOT BUY AN ALPHA BOILER EVER!!!
