Terrible Airline

I traveled JFK - ROS -MIA last November using Aerolineas Argentinas for the convenience of the connection flight to Rosario, Argentina.

The planes were old and uncomfortable, the food was awful, worse plane food ever tasted!, the TVs at the back of the seats were also old and not functioning properly. The flight attendants were MIA after diner, when I asked for water during the flight they were rude and looked annoyed for my petition; during the return flight they even skipped breakfast "for weather reasons", while the weather was fine. But the worse of all, was that in our way to Rosario, our suitcases got delayed, they arrived 2 and a half days later, and they were open, and rampaged, all the best stuff, new and of popular brands, mostly gifts for family, were stolen.

I made a claim, and to my surprise, they said that I was going to be compensate! But the inefficiency continues: First they want me to go back to Argentina to receive the payment, then they said that will send it to Miami (I live in Michigan), and finally they went silent. I never received the above mentioned payment.

Also, their norms of embark are ridiculous, just before I got to the airplane, and on the boarding line, they made me throw away a bottle of water I bought inside the airport, and as they go through all my stuff in my purse and carry on, they insisted that my lipstick(!) should be in a re-sealable bag or thrown away.

I will never again fly with this airline.

Fascinating

Found it great my whole journey to Argentina from NYC and the flight wasnt the exception. Kind and efficient staff, no long queue for checking-in; no trouble with my lugagge and i loved dinner. Seat was pretty comfortable and I listened to music through the trip. We departed and arrived on time to destination. I hope to come back soon to SouthAmerica; sure Ill choose Aerolineas Argentinas.

Secure, Friendly, Cheap

I am Argentine and is and always was a pleasure to travel with Aerolineas Argentinas. To begin, the drivers are the best in the world without discussion. The staff is very attentive and considerate of passengers. In recent years increased her number of destinations and the number of daily flights. In short, I love flying Aerolineas Argentinas!

Surprised By A Great Service

I travelled from Fiumicino Airport in Rome to Buenos Aires in April. Despite of having heard in the media some bad reviews about Aerolineas Argentinas, I can say the flight was plenty satisfaying. Both the departure and the arrival were on time and there were no delays with the check-in. The bagagge arrived to destination with me. We were offered a wide range of beverage and food during the flight. The food was delicious, prepared according to a menu by an international renowned chef, Martiniano Molina. There were some options of entertainment aboard -even though they were a little short- and the staff was kind and serviceable. On the whole, I would completely recommend travellers to choose AerolĂneas Argentinas for their flights to and from South America.

Horrible Returning Flights To Nyc

I used to travel with American in my trips to Argentina. I decided to give a try to Aerolineas Argentinas in my trip JFK-EZE-JFK Business Class / Club Condor. The airplanes was ok, the crew had no idea about what to do and were arguing about who was taking care of what in the segment NYC-EZE they did not have cocktails, only wine, sodas, water, cognac and whiskey. They provide you with a menu including one appetizer, three main courses and one dessert. The salad was really lame, the main courses came presented with the same horrible quality of economy class (we paid business!), the dessert was ice cream, hard as a rock, unable to eat.

The breakfast was with old bread, old croissant, eggs (horrible) and a sandwich that was a real trash as an option. No need to say that the returning flight was of the same poor level of quality for a business class flight. The lounge in Ezeiza has only packed food what you may understand is not fresh an is of a horrible quality, some alcohol, sodas, and water. I truly do not understand how is Aerolineas Argentinas planning to compete with American Airlines. I truly doubt of the current administrators. I heard that is a political area called La Campora.

Best Service I Have Had Anywhere

Due to storms flight was delayed, not the air lines fault. Mentioned to the air stewardess that l would probable miss my connecting flight, with that she asked for my booking details, got the captain to contact ground staff and let the connecting flight know l was coming. She arranged for me to be first off the plane and to be met by air line rep who ran with me through air port got a boarding pass a and through security priority. Made my flight home by just mins, without this assistance I would definitely have missed my flight. Food was just as good as any other airline and better than most. When my flight was delayed due to storm they had three people at the gate answering questions and making announcements as opposed to another air line who had no one letting their passengers know whats going on. Never had any problems using this airline , used them four time this trip

Worst Airline Flying

I have flown the Atlantic 64 times along with other long distance flights. I am an experienced traveler and when I booked my recent flight to Argentina I went along with my grandson's suggestion that we fly Aerolineas Argentinas but I had misgivings because I had read a dim review. There were many problems. They DO Not answer the telephone and do not communicate nor do they return messages. The flight desk at Miami airport was closed. I was flying business class and my ticket was not cheap and the service was very poor. uncomfortable seats. Very few 'goodies' or perks. Over the Amazon somewhere the plane took a dive downward. The seat belt sign was never put on. The return flight to Miami was far worse. Airline went on strike. Four hours late. NO help with communication. No estimated departure . The plane was old. It shook and in spite of severe turbulence the seat belt sign was seldom on. The turbulence lasted for most of the flight it seemed. Again, few perks in business class. We could have all used a STIFF DRINK! Was the pilot in TRAINING or what. The landing was aborted and we flew out over the Atlantic to return and try again. The landing was worse than terrible. I thought perhaps the plane would fall apart! BANG and SKID! The flight attendant prayed along with other passengers.

Please, whatever you do.... DO NOT FLY ON THIS AIRLINE! I was never so happy to be on the ground again!

Avoid!!!

At all costs, if possible. Very lengthy, very scathing review below.

I purchased tickets for their flights with trepidation, having read all the horror stories. We didn't really have another choice in regards to time and flight routes. They have NOT improved. We're now on the 2nd of 4 domestic flights and they have already screwed us over bigtime.

First was Iguazu to Salta. They'd already changed the time by several hours between my buying the ticket and our arrival to Argentina. Good sign, right? They do not bother sending out flight delay alerts and don't update their site even though I checked flight status the morning of the flight. I don't know why either of these are difficult to do. The flight was delayed over an hour upon arrival at the airport so, in total, 4 hours later than I had bought the tickets for. We were MORE screwed because we were driving to Purmamarca, approx 4 hours. It was raining heavily. It was dark. We were on unknown roads. Not exactly a good time.

Flight 2/4 - we got up at 4am to catch a 6am flight. No one in their right mind gets up at 4 unless they have somewhere to be. Upon arrival at the airport at 5, we were informed the flight was cancelled, even though by the crowd it looks at least half full. Our given option was to wait for an Andes flight at 8am. At that point, I was beyond pist at having woken up at an ungodly hour when we could have slept for 2 more hours. But, it gets even better! Upon arrival in BA, the next flight to Mendoza is at 2:40 so we must wait 5 hours in the airport (assuming of course the flight leaves on time ha) and our entire day in Mendoza is shot.

Can I return to the non-usage of flight updates that every other airline implements? Are they a bunch of sadists who enjoy making hundreds of people wait at airports everyday, wasting their time and ruining carefully planned vacations?

I am just waiting in horror at what they will do to us for the remaining flights - one whose time they have already changed 2x. I expect only the very worst. I can't return my tickets, but they can change, delay and cancel to their heart's content. I have traveled quite a bit and on different airlines. Aerolineas are truly the worst and I know my story is hardly new or unique, but I will be posting this in every nook and cranny of the Internet with the faint hope that someone in corporate will change this godawful bull. They do not deserve to be in business.

Update: flight 3/4. I'm sitting in Aeroparque - quelle surprise! Our flight left on time from Mendoza- I thought it was a Christmas miracle. I bought, as 1 ticket, a flight to BA with a connection to El Cafayate. There was 40 minutes between flights, which I knew was tight.

We were not issued boarding passes for both flights which I didn't realize until on the first plane. I raced to their counter and asked the guard if I would make the Calafate flight waiting on the line and was told yes, No problem. Of course I was told differently by the man checking us in. Silly me, having flown extensively, to be so naive as to think Aerolineas would hold our connecting flight for us when they saw we were on board and needed that connection. As any other airline would do. I asked the manager if they wouldn't make an exception since this was their fault, not ours. We had no baggage to check and only had to get past security. Nope. Didn't care.

We were sent first to wait on line at the ticket sales desk, and then told from there to go to an unmarked office across the hall to get tickets for the flight in 3 hours. Super. So why in hell do they sell these tickets as a package when they're physically impossible for anyone to do? 11 days in the country, 3 of them ruined by Aerolineas.

Aerolineas Argentinas: Terrible

On my way to Floripa I did the check online: wrong. Usually you don't have to do more than drop your luggage at the desk and airlines are very happy. Wrong, Aerolineas have people at the desk that don't care about making things easy. The guy there can't send my luggage directly to Floripa: "You did the check in online and I don't know how to put your details so that your luggage at the stopover in Porto Alegre are further sent with GOL."

But I bought the ticket from Aerolineas, Buenos Aires-Floripa-Buenos Aires? And Aerolineas do work together with GOL, why not sending it all the way?

"Sorry, you'll have to take it out in Porto Alegre and do the check in there again."

On the way back a stopover in Sao Paolo. Two hours of delay waiting for the flight of Austral/Aerolineas. Nothing was told, no reason given for the delay. I asked one of the stewardesses why we had 2 hrs delay. "Didn't they tel you at the desk? Most of the crew wasn't in time at the Aeroparque".

And the horror was not over: my backpack didn't arrive, it came one day after arrival.

Grrrrrrrr for Aerolineas.
