Exmoor Zoo

My mother in-law booked a market experience as a Christmas box but I was taken into hospital with a server asthma attack. my partner then informed the zoo that I was in hospital, they said to phone back when I came out to rebook, but later hat following day they advised my partner that I could not rebook or have refund we were not asking for a refund just to rebook and they said they would not rebook as we did not give 7 days’ notice, unfortunate asthma does not give 7 days’ notice, so if you are disabled or have medical problems I would stay clear of this zoo

This place has to be visited to appreciate. It is different from most other zoos you will see and when you visit you will see why. The animals are all so happy and friendly as are the staff. Particularly I enjoyed the animal handling session. You can go around the whole zoo twice in the day quite easily which you cannot say for all zoos, so you are guaranteed to not only have a great day out but you wont miss anything either. My favourite animal here is the beast of bodmin attraction, they have two black pumas which if you are a cat lover or a fan of big cats are the best attraction. Also get up close and personal to the meerkat who has made the news and been hand reared here. You will see the meerkat being taken for a walk around the zoo if you are lucky enough. Great value day out will be heading back up there again very soon. Lovely everythings here and a great gift shop to get souvenirs to remind you to get back there again asap! Exmoor Zoo is a treat for everyone to enjoy not to be missed. Also ignore the bad reports as they are rubbish, if you have something bad to say speak to the staff as they will reassure you of any issues you may have.

Old fashioned type zoo, Animals kept in small cages with lots of wire mesh, Lots of the animals showing boredom behaviour, This is a horrible zoo, we were disgusted with the standard of the enclosures. Please dont go there, Newquay and paignton are much better zoos.

Exmoor Zoo is an excellent place to see animals in beautifully wild surroundings. Easy to stay all day and wonder where the time went! Staff friendly and informative and set in beautiful Devon countryside.

love exmoor zoo. we go there every year and have seen many changes. the talks given are hugely informative and interesting. my son was zoo keeper for a day last year and loved every minute, we are hoping he can do it again this year, making a special trip down there for him(6 hour trip!)he wants to be a zooligist and really wants to work at exmoor zoo when he leaves school. If you are in devon make sure your holiday includes a trip to the zoo. there is a great cafe and picnic area so you can stay all day. great value.

A zoo that we can thoroughly recommend to anyone. It is very good value (£8 adults). Like many others that we met on our visit, although we have been to Devon many times, we were unaware that Exmoor had a zoo and we feel that it is a pity that there is not better advertising for this jewel in beautiful countryside. Whenever we are in Devon, from now on, we will visit to see latest developments
