Fox Stratos FS7000

While spinning for bass near Dover I hooked into a 4lb bass,as I was trying to land the fish the spool detached it self from the reel body and would not clip back into place.I whipped the line to my bottom eye and dragged the fish on to the beach. Fox sent me a free spool which when put on the the reel took me ten minutes to get off,luckily enough when you buy the reel you do get a spare spool which works fine

These are great reels, the drag is superb, better than my Shimanos. The line lay is superb and they caste brilliantly. BUT......the build quality is shocking. I bought two and both have gone wrong. The free spool lever is rediculously delicate and the whole mechanism will pack up on you....it just will. On an upside Fox have been great and have replaced the reels both times. I am very tempted to sell them on but the trouble is I really like using them.

I have two FS7000, they have only had light use, anti reverse not working on one of them, rear drag seized on the other, given their price they are rubbish, I will stick with the Shimanos that I bought to replace them

First time out with my fs7000 the freespool lever broke. When reeling in a 2oz lead its very stiff and heavy,havnt used it again,will return it to fox sometime but i dont want a replacement as i think they are rubbish,i will stick to my shimano's

bought 2 FS10000 reels last year and both free spool adjustments broke this year. Also bought 2 FS7000 ( before the others broke!) and the anti reverse on one broke this week. All reels have had light useage. Build quality is rubbish which is a shame because I actually like these reels.

TERRIBLE BUILD QUALITY -The Anti Reverse on my Fox Stratos FS7000 has broken, light use for 4 months.The handle as has bent, god knows how, not a single reel i've ever had has done this.

I found that it casts a very long way and has a very stylish design.

This reel is a very good reel but I do think that its slightly overpriced as well.

It's a great reel when it works. Both the rear drag and the anti-reverse broke within 6 months with only minimal use.

I found this reel to be very powerful when handling mid range carp. I fish mainly on commercial waters, and loaded this reel with 10lb line. The line sits very nicely indeed and the lay is very good when under retrieval.

I would value this reel as the best possible choice when looking to spend no more than £50 GBP on a solid bait runner.

Go get one if your thinking of an upgrade.
