Izumi, Maldon

It used to be be a really good restaurant but after last two visits you can tell it is not the same. The food are not fresh even at the weekends, and we just been there couple if hours ago and now we can not leave the WC. Never again.

one time i ate at izumi and it was ok the next time i went and ate the food was not as good but i had to eat it because i was hungry the service was bad becaues there is no service exept drinks when you get fellatio so overall it was ok but if i want to eat food i would rather eat a nice food thank you

Have been to both Izumu restaurants and find they are just as good as each other. Food always hot and the staff friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend to any one. Plus ponts for child prices. We have even tried their sister restaurant Zenxi in Chelmsford, oh what can I say - its excellent!! Obviously more expensive than the Buffets but the food is wonderful, service fantastic and evening music. Fine dining at its best!

The downside to Chelmsford restaurant is probably the parking at a weekend but no fault of the management.

I have always had a good experience at Izumi Brentwood. Excellent food and unrivalled customer service. I also like their ambience and food presentation. It is one of my frequently visited places.

My partner and I visited the Izumi Restaurant in Brentwood for the first time on Thursday 16th February 2012. As we walked through the door, we walked into a very well presented buffet style Chinese restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and immediately showed us to our table and got us our drinks. Staff were very attentive and never far away when we needed to ask for things.

As a buffet restaurant, all the food was laid out for customers to help themselves to. The buffet area and restaurant as a whole was always kept very clean and food was regularly topped up as people helped themselves to it. All the food was hot and there was plenty to choose from. There was never an empty container of food.

Our experience of the restaurant was a very good one and I would happily recommend it to friends and family. The food were reasonably priced and I would happily go back there again and again. A five star experience all round.

I love Izumi! I've only been to the one in Maldon but im planning to check out the one in Brentwood soon. The food at Izumi is excellent, for just £12.95 you get so much to choose from and you can have as much as you like! Whenever there is a family occassion and we have to choose somewhere to go it always turns out to be Izumi and it's never a disappointment. If you want a restaurant with a great atmosphere, great service, superb food then go to this retaurant!!! 5* I cant wait to go back!

Actually delicious. I enjoyed the Chef’s special, followed the servers suggestion , and wrapped up off along with a nice soft serve dish .

Classic food, dished up in an unassuming dining-room without a significant amount of fuss. Your meals definitely speaks for itself, and though non-meat eaters will likely choose their choice quite limited, it's a carnivore's heaven. A considerable number of business-types here on a weekday the afternoon meal, but the surroundings was still being fairly casual.

Support was warm and friendly, attentive and thought to be without being pushy or stuffy. Will absolutely get back on try some of the far more bold dishes

New Take away service is fantastic, plenty of food, great value and ready quickly, would recommend to everyone. You choose a starter or dessert, main course and then either rice, noodles or chips all for under £7. For that price we can have a take out once a week.

I love Izumi, the variety of food available is just fantastic! The food is of good quality and they really do have something for everyone. We go there at least once a month as you do get a lot for your money. I have to mention the range of desserts as well, they have a range of cakes on offer which are also unlimited, as well as fruit and ice cream. OH, and banana and apple fritters which are delicious. Obviously by dessert you are full to bursting but I always leave room for it as it's just lovely. The self catering theme of the restaurant makes you feel extremely relaxed and you don't feel bad for truly getting the most out of your money. I feel happy going back for more and more of the delicious food, and because everyone else in the restaurant is doing the same it doesn't feel greedy or rude to do so.

The staff have always been extremely friendly, they smile and say hello and are extremely quick and efficient when clearing your plates. We have had staff be a little TOO efficient in the past and sometimes go to take your plate when you are just resting before indulging in more food, but that's just being picky really.

The only negative issue I have is that the restaurant sometimes becomes a little TOO crowded, and you do kind of feel as though you are eating with the people next to you. The seating is in a very open area so you don't get as much privacy as you may like when eating out. I have found I have had to lower my voice in the past when talking to whoever I am dining with as the people next to you are only around a foot and a half away. It can be very noisy also, which doesn't help when you're trying to lower your voice so the people next to you aren't involved in your conversations..

But in terms of the important factors involved in a restaurant, the food and service is just great. Even thinking about that sweet and sour chicken and apple fritters is making my mouth water. GO TO IZUMI :)

Also, we have not actually tried the Wok and Grill, but we intend to tomorrow when we dine there. It looks fantastic, there's so much choice and the food is made right in front of you.

The only other thing which leaves me feeling a little disappointed after every visit is that I did not have the stomach to stuff my face with even more of all the fabulous dishes they have to offer.

have been here several times now - excellent service and superb food, not to mention the excellent value for money. i'm going there again tomorrow - can't wait! if you haven't booked you may sometimes have a bit of a wait during peak busy periods while a table becomes free - the food however is well worth waiting for
