Wrong Size And Bad Service
I ordered a poster from this site. First, it was supposed to be a standard size, but it came in a really weird size (11x15.24) that didn't fit in a standard frame. They lied about the size on their website. If you're looking to buy a nice print and just frame it with a store bought frame, too bad. They probably want you to buy expensive custom matting and framing from them to fit their non-industry sizes.
I've tried to contact them and so far, I've had no luck whatsoever with customer service. They insist on their website that email is the fastest way to contact them, so I sent them an email and got the auto reply that I'd be contacted in 1-2 business days. It's been almost a week and I've heard nothing. I tried calling them and their automated system is maddening. After about ten seconds of music, it asks you every three seconds (not an exaggeration) if you want the system to hold your place in line and call you back. Eventually you give in because it's unbearable to listen to that nonstop for several minutes. I still haven't gotten a call back. No telling if they'll call me back, or how accommodating they'll be when I explain the problem. I'll update when/if they get back to me.
The bottom line is, they lie about the size of their products online and send you something that won't fit in a standard frame without expensive, custom framing/matting, and then they're nearly impossible to get ahold of. Even if they call me back and work out something reasonable, this whole experience has been such a hassle over a poster that I won't do business with them again.

Imagekind.com Is A Wonderful Tool For Selling Your
Imagekind.com is a wonderful tool for selling your artwork as long as you are willing to get out in the world and market yourself. You definitely cant just sit back and do nothing and wait for sales because it wont happen. The quality of printing is wonderful and the selection of substrates to have your images printed on is amazing. The base prices that they charge could be cheaper though.

Very complete and competent comments. I agree. Considering that it is a paid service, it has an amateur feel. Some free sites have more elegant portfolio offerings and produce lovely prints. It will be interesting to see what happens after the Cafe Press acquisition of the site. Jurying the art might be a good idea.

Clearly the founders saw a long-standing need - maintaining the crop of images from exposure or processing through framing - and solved it brilliantly by having computers adapt the package to the picture rather than the other way around. Since cropping can be a crucial element in perfecting fine art digitally, they're taking print production in a 21st Century direction. On the other hand, they are so focused on the final result that they've cut critical corners on the GUI. Make organizing and uploading the images more practical, and I'll have thousand to market as only Imagekind can. For my part, after a week of seeking workarounds, I have reluctantly cancelled my Imagekind account and renewed my Printroom account to upload 200+ images in four galleries in my sixth group.
I meant to comment on this review, and mistakenly wrote a review of my own. Oh well. I agree with almost everything here. I have been with the site for a couple of years and have not sold a single thing. I have not paid for the service, but I simply did not receive enough views to warrant the investment. I have sold through Absolutearts.com, Zazzle, and Redbubble. Absolutearts has paid for itself and more in sales every year. Zazzle and Redbubble are free to the artist. Imagekind is okay, but the others are better.
