I dont think i ever wrote a review on them but back in dec 10 i ordered about £800 worth of camera stuff eos550 etc after 2 weeks waiting before xmas as they promised next day it never arrived and trying to ring the number is just a joke time after time they will put the phone down on you after waiting 30mins or more, so i asked my bank to pull the money back on fraudulent taking that i wasn't going to receive the goods. My My didn't that make them jump up, it arrived next day and they took the money out.. a week later another load of money came off my card so i paid for the camera twice now. Again i asked the bank to pull the money back because i received the goods but no more money is to be taken by these people. Rolling on into march they apologised They came up with some poor excuse it was the machine or something. As far as I'm aware they are just thieves and frauds. We'll get all the orders in and not send the goods. I have never ever seen a company take money so quick an come out the bank literally hours after.
So my view is to avoid as i nearly went down there an kicked there door in to get my money back if they want to keep hanging the phone up an not responding to emails. So as i see if anyone wants there money back they track down Craig Scott Michael and Timothy Michael

So Have Lost My Guarantee Then
i bought camera and assessories with 5 yr guarentee in dec 09 they were over a month late in delivering and now by chance have found that they have gone bust so now have lost my extended guarentees.
i also descovered after the camera arrived, a canon eos 500 that it was not from uk as they had said but sourced from another eu country and did not have the instruction book. they refused to get me one but luckily canon supplied me one because without it as a novice could not use the camera.
i swore after that i would never use them again, was so right but wished i had not used them at that time.
there is another site/company that had the same website and prices at that time but cant remember the name and if one rang them you got the ssame useless staff.
i would have liked to know that they were lying about where equipment was sourced from.

ok the only thing good about them is that their prices ar low. but then they deliver late, dont siend you exactly what you paid for. They also send you cheap imitations. They still owe me money which i will not get as they have gone bust.

Camera packaging was badly damaged, had been opened before dispatch and had parts missing from the contents. Camerabox denied it, saying everything passes inspection. Took months to get full refund. Too many people involved who don't communicate with each other and have no clear responsibility for resolving customer issues. Either incompetence or a deliberate ploy.
Wish I had read the reviews before I brought from Camerabox. They are simply as bad as all the reviews say. It took me four months and the credit card company to get my money back and the cheque they sent me to cover the returns postage, bounced!! DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

Placed an order for a new lens £239.99 on 1st June 2011. After it hadn`t arrived within the 2-4 days contacted them and told delivery had been refused!!!!! Ridiculous, why would I refuse a delivery I wanted. Told I would get my money back within 2-12 days. Nothing received. Couldn`t get through on the phone and an email prompted an automated response stating they had ceased trading.
They must have known on 1st June they were going under.
Fortunately I have been refunded by my credit card Company.
I just wonder what name they trading under now? If anyone knows or finds out don`t keep it to yourself post it on Google.

Don't ever try to buy from this site. After placing an order I had to email on many ocassions and received all kinds of excuses, not in stock, lost by the courier company, new stock not arrived, etc. I eventually received an email saying they had stopped trading but they are still oin the web!!!!!
I eventually got my money back from my credit card company.

Despite buying items on the internet for many years I have never come across a company as bad as this.
Having decided on which camera to purchase I contacted them to confirm that it would be a UK model and received confirmation via email that it would be. I therefore placed an order and despite the 2-4 day deliver period quoted it took over 1 week to arrive.
The camera unfortunately was not the UK model promised but a South American model with all documentation in Spanish / Portuguese and the only documentation in English was a warranty document stating that the manufacturer’s warranty was invalid if the camera was purchased outside of South America.
I contacted Oxfordshire County Council Trading Standards (who know of this company) and they advised me to return the camera immediately for a full refund. I did this at my cost and to date I have failed to be able to contact the company. I have however received an email confirming receipt and stating that they will refund £15 less than I paid for the camera within 30 days.
THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALING AND YOU CANNOT TRUST THEIR PRESALE ADVICE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
Camerabox announced the appointment of administrators on 21st June. This was subsequently confirmed by the administrators. The following notice is on the Camerabox website, together with further advice / information:

My wife purchased a Nikon p500 on the 2nd of June for my 40th Birthday present. She chased daily and was told the same thing over and over again “should be with you tomorrow” they claimed to have 8 live in stock and the webpage states next day delivery on all orders placed before 6pm
We waited well over a week my birthday came and went and no goods dispatched or even a hint of being dispatched.
We cancel the order and they said the money would be back in to our account in 2 – 5 day and you’ve guessed we still have not had our money back 30 days later.
Our bank is now dealing with it for us so cross fingers we might be lucky and get our money back but not holding our breath.

we ordered the camera from dixons for less money £296.20 and it arrived the next day. Love the camera, but if you just want the fun with out the pain buy from anyone other than CAMERABOX
