Victorian Design - Roman Craft - Sherman Tank

This car is possibly the most disgusting machine I have had in my posession.

There are a number of points I would like to talk about in this review, I will being with the suspension. Lifted from a Victorian prame, the design is primitive with the refinenment of a horse shoe. It also makes the car bow and pitch like I'm driving a lobster boat in the Bearing Sea.

Secondly the gearbox. I can only compare this to a lever found in pre-war signal box. The ratio is so short, you would think this car is designed to pull commerical aircrafts. The lubrication in the gearbox is very poor - Mobil 254 Oil has been replaced by Turtle wee and ball bearings.

I would also like to mention performance. First gear is so short, you MUST drive this like your pulling of the starting grid in a F1 race. First gear will last 1.5seconds, getting you to 19 MPH...second has nothing to give and when you do manage to chissel the box into 5th you won't want be able to above 70mph due to the 15inch steel wheels groaning like a wild boar.

Finally interior / cabin refinement. Below average. Plastic are lifted from a 1980's BT phonebox with the overall look over the command deck of the Starship Enterprise.

In short stay away.

Gear Box And Suspension

Suspension Rear Arm Failure , this is reported on VOSA.gov.uk,Don't let the garage get away with wax/oil .It will fail as its internal corrosion. Its Hyundai's problem RECALL 'premature corrosion'and they know about it.

The 1st and 2nd Gear Selection problem .I cannot quite figure out but it looks like a Selector Cable problem,I have to force it over to the left as I come out of 1st gear in order to push the cable that little bit further and it goes in to 2nd OK .If you forget and try to go directly from 1st to 2nd and it crunches.YOu can see this selector mechanism when you take the 2 screws out of the Centre Console. How do you get at Cables to replace?not sure .Do you have to remove gearbox?.Hope not

The Hyundai Trajet Gsi Td Diesel Is A Great Car. I

The Hyundai Trajet GSi TD diesel is a great car. It did 55mpg once and averages 44mpg. Even towing a caravan it only drops to 34mpg.

Does everything I want. Tows very well. Only costs have been a service and MOT, and a loose gear box linkage (£26!)

Not the fastest thing on 4 wheels but thats not the point. Take the seats out and you have a huge van like space. Seats in and you can take 7 passengers and a wheelchair! Just doesnt look that good!

My Hyundai Trajet Offers Appalling Mpg On Long Hau

My Hyundai Trajet offers appalling mpg on long haul journey - cruising at 70mph only managed 25mpg - for a diesel in this class I would have expected much more.

If the mpg had been better this would be a really good family vehicle.

I Needed A Larger People Carrier To Accommodate 6

I needed a larger people carrier to accommodate 6 passengers, one of which is disabled and requires a wheelchair to be carried. I bought this Trajet to replace a Citroen Synergie which is a great car but we were suffering with lack of space. I needed 7 proper seats, good boot space and reasonable economy, all of which I get with the Trajet. I'm past worrying about the kudos of the vehicle I drive and find the Trajet more than acceptable, although at 300kg heavier than my Citroen I have lost a noticeable amount of performance and economy. One good thing is the separate rear Air con, a definite boon in a vehicle this size. Performance around town is not great but it comes into it's own on the motorway. I just have to accept that you can't have it all for the price.
