I've Been Using The Siemens S35i Phone For At Leas
i've been using the siemens s35i phone for at least eight years now, as i refuse to upgrade my phone when the old one still works perfectly.
the design is superb, and although by today's standards the phone is heavy, i very much like the weight of it. It is solidly built and has withstood several drops to the floor.
i've only needed to buy one replacement battery which gives excellent standby time as well as perfectly acceptable calling time. charges fast.
+ no-nonsense, to the point design with separated buttons
+ good battery life
+ good signal reception
+ does what it's supposed to: make and receive phonecalls, send and receive text messages
- somewhat sluggish operation right after bootup.
- limited storage space for text messages

I Have This Siemens S35i Mobile Phone For More Tha
I have this Siemens S35i mobile phone for more than 2 years now and it has never let me down. It's a very nice piece of german engineering and quality.
It's not a fun phone, it's clearly aimed for the professional market and succeeds very well.

The Siemens S35i Mobile Phone Is Suitable For Simp
The siemens S35i mobile phone is suitable for simple but active people whose life is not merely for fashion. For some people, the not so bright illumination/back light becomes problem, but I like it because it's bright enough without drawing attention from people arround you.
If I could customise 2 or 3 melodies instead of only 1, it would be nicer.
the keys/buttons, which were hard to push, become soft. You might push the right shortcut button (right one below the screen) twice unintentionally.
Totally agree, what about the Polar Silver S35i edition? Is the keypad improved. The Polar Silver S35i edition with white illumination must be great, right?

I Got My Siemens S35i Mobile Phone About 12 1/2 Mo
I got my Siemens S35i mobile phone about 12 1/2 months ago and after I had the first phone replaced due to the "I'm turning myself off now" issue (delivered to my door within 24 hours) I was very happy with the phone except for the low volume of the ring tone and the odd "I'm turning myself off now" episode. Anyway settled in nicely with it, filled up the phonebook with all me numbers, I also use the reminder thing for to remember everything, dropped it a couple of times with no obvious effect, it was light, fitted in my pocket easy and gave excellent reception. I was a happy boy!!!
Then about a week ago, just after the warranty ran out ;-) I got caught in a sudden rainfall while on the phone, I put the phone away pretty quickly but the little bit of rain that got it killed the phone totally... :-(
Anyway if your thinking of buying one of these, as long as you don't use it near water they are a good phone. But beware the rain.

I Was Hesitant At First...but I'm Glad Now That I
I was hesitant at first...but I'm glad now that I ignored some of the negative reviews of the Siemens S35i mobile phone given by some people.
This is a good phone, it's compact, light and the reception I get is better than than the Motorola and Nokia phones I've had in the past.
The games are a bit boring, but then it's not a Gameboy, is it! The only problem I've encountered so far has been the visibality of the screen, the sunlight can sometimes force you into a shady area just to see what your doing (it's a pain when your waiting in the car to pick someone up and trying to past the time with a game or two).
My phone was messed with when new and the battery suffered the consequences (and my wallet), but easy fixed with a new one.
I did find however, that the feel of the numerical keys was a bit spine tingleing to the touch, easy fixed with a leather case, which incidently fits very nicely. It is highly recommended in any case due to protrusion of the screen.
I think it's a good value phone, Siemens quality, good features and very sturdy. I'm happy.

I'm About To Send Back My Second Siemens S35i Phon
I'm about to send back my second Siemens S35i phone in a month because the keylock jams on. I can only use the phone by taking the battery out and putting it in again - then have to go through the tedious start-up process before I can make a call.
To add insult to injury the keylock - when it's not sticking - gets knocked accidentally, as does the on/off button, so I sometimes find the phone is switched off when I'm expecting a call.
Also the battery on the second phone I got had a significantly shorter life than the first one.
Both phones heat up my head horribly without a wave blocker.

A Phone With A High Technical Specification, The S
A phone with a high technical specification, the Siemens S35i has a large screen which is unfortunately difficult to read. I find the audio volume to be too low, even at it's maximum setting. I find the phone keypad continually 'unlocks' itslef in my pocket which inevitably results in 'phantom' calls to either the internet or the last dialled number! Battery life is consistent- 3 days.
Overall I find it difficult to drive compared to my Nokia 3310

Problems With My Siemens S35i Phone From The Start
Problems with my Siemens S35i phone from the start with the SIM card not being read. The sound comes and goes and even at the loudest setting it's pathetic. In difficult reception areas it's always the last on the block to find a transmitter.
Battery life never exceeds 48 hours. Still no way to connect to an Ipaq and so use the modem which is supposedly incorporated. Memory loss from time to time. Settings change at random. All in all it's a real DOG. I wish I'd stuck with Nokia.
I have two of these phones and they both suffer from similar problems to greater or lesser extents. Both have been officially unlocked, but one will not now recognise the orgiinal network sim, and periodically rejects its current sim. The other occsionally rejects what ever card is fitted. They freeze on and i have to take the battery out which is actually the quickest method of getting either to close down.
now that they are unlocked I ahve discovered that you cannot use any of the pin or sim security measures becasue both after about six weeks will cease to work.
lastly they both ahve dodgy reception, even compared with a much cheaper A class siemens, and even worse, they are both unable to lcok on after losing a signal.
All in all expensive and very poor value.
I have used 3 models of Siemens phones, but I have never had those big problems as you encountered.
