I Have Used This Phone For About 5 Years Now And H
I have used this phone for about 5 years now and have no complaints about it. I am a light cell phone user who only makes occasional calls. However, I do carry this cell phone (in case of emergencies) all the time. I have carried it for years and dropped it multiple times but nothing has broke and it still works. I am (regretfully) having to switch to a new phone, however, simply because this model is getting so out-of-date. Sprint recently sent me a letter that informed me that, due to changes in their network, that I may experience a "loss of (analog) roaming coverage". They also said that I should "consider upgrading to a handset with increased digital capabilities". I had been thinking about upgrading anyway (to get cool new features) and this was the final straw. I am upgrading to a newer model with more features. Hope it holds up as well as this Samsung SCH-3500 did!

The Samsung Sch 3500 Has Been A Wonderful Phone Fo
The Samsung SCH 3500 has been a wonderful phone for me! I've had the thing for about five years now, and just recently had a mechanical issue. It has been in a lake more than once, it's been dropped countless times (several times on concrete), and has gone through all the usual wear-and-tear and come out smelling like a rose! I'm even still on my first battery. The service coverage started out a bit weak five years ago, but has improved year after year. It's always had problems deep inside steel structures (i.e. at work), but that's as much to do with the telecom protocol as with the phone. The hinge contact for the earpiece was the final weak-point and, being five years later, it was worth it to me to get a new phone instead of repairing the old. And Samsung got my business again!

I've Had My Samsung Sch 3500 Mobile Phone For 3yea
I've had my Samsung SCH 3500 mobile phone for 3years and never had a problem with the flip top or its performance. I've used it for work at construction sites and have dropped it several times from different ladder hieghts and even in a bucket of water by accident. After drying for a couple of hours the phone was back to normal. I'm finally breaking down to buying a new phone with more features and can only hope the new one can take the beating I've given this one. The only real problem I've had with the phone is the service provider Sprint. They have no plans of keeping you a happy customer once they've sucked you in with their promo's. So I'm switching to Verizon!
I Know 4 People Who Have Owned This Samsung Sch 35
I know 4 people who have owned this Samsung SCH 3500 mobile phone (including myself) and three of us have had the same problems. The flip-top wears out very quickly and does not engage the connection needed to make or receive calls. The only way the phone would work is to use the earpice, thereby circumventing the flip-top. All of us had the problem in 13 months or prior and guess what ... Samsung denies any reportyed problems with this particular model. None of us will evr buy a Samsung product ... ever, for the reason of "no accountability" on Samsung's part. Our feeling is that if they won't take responsibility in regard to this particular product, then their committment to accountability and service in regard to all of their products is probably non-existing. This is the most frustrating product I have ever owned. I had asked for a replacement phone of even a much lesser value, but received absolutely no satisfaction, after several attempts.
The little magnet falls out of the slot below the earphone and the flip then fails to be detected. treat with a separate magnet to see if it switches on and off as the magnet is touched to the phone and removed. It's hard to find one small enough to be glued in the little slot, and still be strong enough to work, but I did it and have used it for 2 years since repair.
I Have the same problem with my phone. I would like to know, since the warranty is over, if someone had tried to open the phone to repair it. I have asked a service technician at a service center and he told me that this flip top is connected to the earpiece by wire instead of contacts, and that is why the connection broke. If someone have the service manual or can tell me the steps to open the unit and be able to repair it, I could try to fix this.
Thank's
I agree, although my phone lasted a little over two years before the contactors to the earpiece speaker in the flip phone hinge began to fail.

Sprint Insurance Plan Replaced (at A Cost Of $35 +
Sprint insurance plan replaced (at a cost of $35 + $3.00/Month) my defective Nokia 6185 with a Samsung SCH-3500 mobile phone. I cancelled my Sprint service after two months because I was not using the phone. In the mean time I bought a StarTac with Verizon service. Couple months later I gave the Samsung phone to my mother and she established service. After a month of using it just fine, the phone now is unusable. It keeps dropping calls immediately. The phone is being operating in known good signal areas. The signal strength keeps going to 0 bars. Sprint will not replace the phone.
I love my StarTac, it is not rich on features, however it works well, has adjustable volume that is loud, and very reliable. The battery is small, so I can keep a spare in my back pocket.
you are very right about the service plan as well as how much of a piece of trash the phone is...... run from the samsung 3500....... the one I have refuse to stay in the on position....it keeps cutting off....... what a peice of garbage...... I paid my $35 also.... I will file a small claim against the company in court ......... I have plenty of time on my hands.......... equipment rip-off would be a better name for the plan.......
Does anyone know where I can download free ringtones for Samsung SCH-3500?

With All The Bad Press And Reviews About The Samsu
With all the bad press and reviews about the Samsung 3500 mobile phone, one would think that a company recall from Mother Samsung in Seoul would be in order. Customer satisfaction seems not to be their highest priority...otherwise I would have received some notice, or the company may have made a press release to RECALL and/or fix for NO CHARGE. Seems Samsung is little more than a monopoly that flies by night. SprintPCS need to research their decisions in future regarding decisions in buying SAMSUNG products, if they don't want to end up with egg on their face. OH I WILL BE PRACTICING MY CRICKET PITCH WITH MY OLD 3500, AND I WILL BUY A NOKIA...SOON!

My Samsung 3500 Mobile Phone Developed A Typical P
My Samsung 3500 mobile phone developed a typical problem with earpiece. Samsung wants minimum $75.00 just to look at it only 3 months out of warranty.
Since i have an electronics background i decided to tear it apart and repair it myself. I removed the flip piece looking for broken wires none found. After putting it back together i decided to see if i could remove piece holding speaker in. After careful prying i was able to loosen the glue and remove cover, inside is a quarter size speaker. Hooked up ohm meter and tested phone, phone functioned properly with the exception of the speaker. This is at best a 50 cent part and evidently poor quality control from manufacturer of speaker. This part is easily replaced, the problem is finding a speaker. Evidently samsung does not sell parts for their phones. Even their service centers can't get the parts, they have to send the phone back to samsung for repair.
As i stated earlier $75.00 minimum just for them to look at it. If i have any luck finding replacement speaker or compatible i will repost.
This is a simple repair and if you have a soldering iron you can repair this yourself.

The Samsung 3500 Phone Looks Good, Feels Good And
The Samsung 3500 phone looks good, feels good and it sits well in your hand. My problem with the phone has been that the speaker does not work after one year. The connection to the speaker fails after one year. It's because of a bad design by Samsung. After some number of times opening and closing the speaker, the connection fails.

Whenever I Compare Reception On My Samsung 3500 To
Whenever I compare reception on my Samsung 3500 to someone on the Sprint network with a different phone, I find I have worse reception. But that's not the problem with this phone. The problem with this phone is that the flip breaks, and you can't hear anything. Cost is $100 to fix. I fixed it myself... http://labs.retards.org/samsung/
