Rude And Unprofessional

Home Claims staff are rude and unhelpful. Can never speak to the same person twice and can never speak to a manager. Took over a month and over 6 hours of phone calls only to finally say they were turning down my claim. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hastings Cancelled My Insurance Without Warnings!

Hastings have cancelled my car policy without any warnings, no email or a letter. Received email on 14th May stating your policy is cancelled. When asked they said because my car was write off and I should insure another car within 30 days, but I didn't know of this 30 days and Hastings didn't contact me by any mean to warn me. I spoke with Blessing on 15th May she escalated to her manager whose response to me is go check Terms and Condition, so basically Hastings are not doing their job to send me email to warn me that my policy will terminate after 30 days rather a MANAGER is telling me go read terms and conditions! IF THEIR MANAGER RESPONSE IS LIKE THAT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM NORMAL EMPLOYEES!! I WORK IN CORPORATE BANK AND MY ADVISE TO HASTINGS BE PROFESSIONAL AND LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

Spoke with someone on 21st May and she's blaming the postman she said we issued you a letter on 04th May, a letter that I have never received. I said to her guess what I received every letter from Hastings but not this because they never sent me a warning letter.

Complete unprofessional-ism they cover themselves they didn't do their job and now blaming the postman, and rude response from a manager! I will just say they have no integrity. I will keep fighting for my rights

they took 78 eur to my card visa without having an account with them and despite that they confirmed that the payment is not made with my name and I have him showed my card they refused to refund the amount

Worst Renewal Insurance Company

worst renewal insurance company I've ever dealt with .

My son had his renewal sent through at £795.00 after 5 years of accident and enforcement free driving , which although we felt was still quite high , decided to stay with them.

In between getting the renewal and taking out the policy , he received a speeding fine ( which we are currently fighting , as it was in a supposedly variable speed limit on a motorway and even though he was only driving at 67mph they are insisting that there was a 50mph overhead gantry sign in place - for no reason at all - but he states that this was not in place so we are asking highways to look into it as the police will not give you any proof unless you attend court )

however , he decided to inform the insurers before taking out the policy . I expected the premium to go up slightly but did not expect it to go to a staggering £2800.00!!!

I called them to ask how this can be and after the usual rubbish about let me speak to the underwriters they came back with £2000.00 a staggering deduction in minutes of £800 ??

We said that this was still too high and asked for a manager who then reduced it to £1500.00

So in a nutshell , if you want to use a company that tries to rip off its customers then choose Hastings direct . If you want to use a company that doubles your premium after a 3 points speeding fine then choose Hastings direct. If you want to use a company that is fair and does not penalise too heavily or try to rip off its existing customers then choose another company than Hastings direct

Neither myself , my son or any of my other family or friends will ever be using their services ever again and that includes all other insurance as well as motor vehicle

Avoid at all costs !!!

They poured motor oil & petrol onto roads (truck seen & traced), causing multiple traffic accidents in Wolverhampton in 2016 & then took a year’s premium amount, when I had only asked to pay monthly. No one person in this company is capable to take accountability, the customer service is dreadful & this is only one of several, serious crimes they have committed across the last few years. I was studying FMAAT & ACCA, whilst working two jobs & now, I was forced to abandoned my education (against will), forced to give up jobs & can’t afford bread, solely for the actions of; HastingsDirect Smart Miles, HastingsDirect & IG04.

45 Minutes Back And Forth On Hold To Cancel,

Had policy for less than day, needed to cancel. Phoned up & person was polite, but ended up on hold repeatedly & then charged £60 all in. Took 45 minutes of on & off hold.

What Customer Service?

The worst customer service I have come across - if it exists! Every thing looks great, straight forward until it comes to them taking money from your bank, as agreed, they don't take it and charge extra for you not paying! Once they get you to pay over the phone, which will be a late payment due to the arrangement agreed which they haven't adhered to, they up the cost for paying late!

As I see it, this company is a lost cause and not worth the aggro you get trying to do business with them!

Passed A1 bike test today, called Hastings direct to inform them I now have full license and told not only would my premium do up but they would have to charge£25 for 'admin' on online only documents. Disgusting price and poor customer service. When documents were emailed over they were also wrong, claiming id changed vehicle registration and still excluding me from pillion passengers, another premium rate call and 10mins on hold later to be told that I had to request pillion passenger and that would be more money, and that they won't change the registration but that's the button they press to justify the £25 charge. I won't use them next year even if its the cheapest. Stay clear.

just wait till you pass your A licence and then get told they are not going to insure your bike, I can't sell my cbr125r or they will cancel my insurance, I can't ride my 600cc because they won't insure it, can't face riding my cbr125r, I've got to look at my insured 600cc for 2 months and keep my 125cc or I'll have to pay cancellation fees and lose my NCB, didn't Dock Turpin (had to put dock as blocked for a bad word) wear a mask while he was taking money for nothing?

Poor Communication

Not always easy to find your up to date policy details. My online search always defaulted to an earlier bike policy that I have not had for several years and that bike policy is still there today when I log on, alongside my current policy, yet the two bikes in between don't show.

I had a minor crash at 15mph and Hasting refused to communicate with the other persons insurer, to the point where their solicitor started to threaten me for direct payment, or go to court. I had to contact Hastings 'solicitor' and get them to sort it out. Why do you pay for insurance when they don't pay out. Now, they are refusing to insure me next time. I must add, I am an advanced motorcyclist with a FIRST with the IAM.

Rubbish Customer Service

Been with Hastings for 2 years, received a letter from them saying they were not able to offer insurance for this year.

No explanation and nothing has changed except that I have another year's no claims.

Called them for an explanation, call taker was uninformed and couldn't help or explain why they were not able to offer insurance again.

I asked for proof of my no claims and asked why this hadn't been sent automatically if they were passing me off, again call taker couldn't provide an answer.

I was told it would be emailed which it was, just missing a whole year NCB. Idiots.
