Absolutely Disgusting
What have they done. Sticky gluey texture icing. Tastes awful. Just don't buy these they are disgusting
Delicious Cherry Biscuits
Bakewells makes cake and biscuits with a stuffed cherry, pure cherry taste delicious. Well cooked and crunchy biscuits.
Very Delicious
It was just what I had planned for. I think I was anticipating a more spongy feeling, despite the fact that it looks like pie crust. However, I'm guessing they're better fresh, yet they're still plum wonderful. This isn't too sweet, but it is quite delicious. It tastes like cherry and has plum and raspberry jam in it.
They're incredibly filling, and one is more than plenty for breakfast or a tasty snack.

Latest Purchase Horrible
Was always a favourite, but latest purchase (4th June) icing too much and too thick, means less proper quality filling and more cheap sugar.... horrible cheapenibg of product... sad. Will try M&S ones next, hope they're better.

These Tarts Are Not Suitable For Vegetarians As Th
These tarts are not suitable for vegetarians as the company insist on using Cochineal to dye the cherry red. This dye is made from crushed up beetles! There is really no need to do this in this day and age as other companies use alternatives such as beetroot dye. When I pointed this out to Mr Kipling, their reply was that Cochineal gives the best colour and that beetroot dye turns an orange colour "which is certainly not what you or retailers would want". What a silly thing to say. Asda do their own brand cherry bakewells which look EXACTLY the same and they are suitable for vegetarians as they do not use crushed up beetles!
Mr Kipling pride themselves on using free range eggs yet they are happy to use the outdated practice of using cochineal as a dye just because they think it gives the best colour. Some of their cake contains pork fat too. How 'natural', to have dead beetles and dead pigs in cakes!
Absolutely bang on. Sort it Kipling!
