Aspire Visa Credit Card

Over 8 months ago Aspire stopped sending monthly statements in the mail. I was tracking my payment history and balance. When I call the CS number I get a continuous loop. Are they still in existence? When I did speak with CS, it was always someone in another country and the calls were frustrating. Fees were just too high! Will not do business with them again.

i got a letter saying they were closing my account - which was fine bc i was paying a high interest rate and outrageous fees...but i always paid on time and paid the balance shortly after they said they were closing my account. all these years later - the last portion of the balance i paid (69.00) is still on my credit report!!!!!!! awful card = stay away

What seemed to be an average card that is marketed to people who have had credit problems in the past, turned into a nightmare.

Apart from exuberant interest rates (typical for this kind of cards) they also have numerous hidden charges for this and that.

I have been making automated payments from my bank account to them for a couple of years now, but last month I decided to pay off the entire balance via their online payment service. It was on August 15. On September 5th, I started receiving phone calls from a toll free number 800-551-0646, in 15 minute intervals. They would just call and hang up when I pick up, or leave an automated message from "Mary from Card Services" who has an amazing offer for me. As I called to yell at them to stop harassing me, it turned out that they are Aspire Collections department who were calling me, because my payment of a little over 40 dollars (!) hasn't gone through, because of a typo in the bank account number. Even if I had made a mistake entering my account number, they would have figured this out in a couple of days, maybe a week, but I cannot explain why it had taken them FOUR WEEKS to contact me. Secondly, their contact approach is, nicely put, strange. I would not usually return calls that seem to be from a telemarketing service. Should there be a problem with my account, I expect to be contacted properly, even via telephone, but with an indication where the call is coming from and that it is regarding my Aspire account and not Mary with the irresistible offer. Because of their inadequate customer service, my account had gone past due, and there is a possibility that this shows up on my credit report (or if I hadn't closed the account and this was actually the final payment, it would have eventually triggered higher interest rates, which makes me suspicious whether I had indeed made a mistake typing my account number, or they were just scamming me,...)

When I complained about this, the phone associate by the name of "Josslyn", which was clearly made up, since I could tell the call was handled somewhere in Southeast Asia, started yelling at me and saying that they are the collection agency and not the customer service.

There are much better credit cards for rebuilding credit out there, such as Capital One, or HBSC.

RUBILED THE CREDIT HISTORY

This compqny have made unsolicited phone calls to me a total of eight times in less than two days. When I pick up the phone there is either nobody on the other end or the sound of people laughing in the background. I asked them to remove my number from their records but this had made no difference. I have now reported them to Ofcom who can fine them up to £2,000,000. I would not touch this company if it was the last one on earth. I have not had a credit card from them but had to fill in that section to allow me to proceed. Had I been able to give them a zero rating I would have done so. I would encourage anyone who has been pestered by this company of contact Ofcom and complain as they are now watching the behaviour of this organisation closely

I applied for a credit card from another firm but I received a phone call from Aspire. As I dont know anything about Aspire I would like to know how you came to know my telephone number and why you thought you could simply ring me up about MY finances???

This is really a bad firm as their standard of trading is bad. I suggest that anyone thinking of using this firm, think again!!!!!!I could not send this review without using the rating system above. The rating above should read ZERO rating throughout.

Customer Service is marginal at best; they charge you $4.95 to pay your credit card bill online, which they should offer free like most card companies since it cuts costs and offers easy ways to pay; the interest rate is HORRIBLE.

This credit card/financial institution in Georgia needs to go AWAY. Something needs to be done to them and their predatory lending practices.

I am a person that likes credit cards, I always pay my cards on time and always pay more than the amount due. Aspire is the worst credit card I have ever had. Their intrests rates are unheard of. It doesent matter if you pay your bills on time they will never lower your interest rates. They haven't mine anyway.

I paid them off with another one of my credit cards with a 11.24% intrest rate instead of 29.99% intrest rate that Aspire charges. Check around good before you get this card, Please!

I used the Aspire Visa Credit Card, tried to cancel - paid my bill and they never posted payment and a year later showed huge balance due to late fees. I found the only way to settle was to pay this bill which I did. They NEVER updated my credit report and after (3) years it is still showing UNPAID which has hurt my credit.!!!!! Help! What can I do to reach them????
