Like A First Love.
Drive one, if you get the chance, just drive one.
The smile on your face will go from ear to ear, the beating in your heart will turn like a war drum, and your hands will quickly be reaching for your wallet to buy your own.
This isn't just a car, this is a soul and character with wheels and power. You hop in and the car becomes a part of you, a new limb, a new skin, it makes you feel amazing.
Like a first love you make mistakes, things go wrong, but you're usually young and foolish and it's worth sorting out, every single time, no matter the cost, because you know nobody can put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart like your own Clio Sport.
Love it, What a review, I was fortunate to own a megane coupe from new and I felt exactly the same. . No car has come close since and i broke my heart parting with it after ten years, Loved it, What a drive. My son has just purchased a new Clio and I am quite envious and will probable follow suit , as its a Beaut!

£ For £ The Best Fun You Can Have With Yer Pants On!
This is the 2nd clio ive had.
I had the 172 now the 182, Its a fantastic car i would recomend to anyone.
Performance is very good, Can be a little sluggish if you are in the wrong gear or low revs but nothing a quick down shift wont cure.
Ive had many a big merc or bmw look down there nose at the lights then realise its not just a clio when there eating my dust!.
The car still looks up to date now and even better in gordini blue.
the car will snap your spine in 2 if you hit a pot hole but handels like a dream and many a time ive had it up on 3 wheels confindently.
Interior looks ok but is a bit cheap but its french so what do you expect.
MPG most of the time is arround 28-32 round town and 35-38 on a run however if your a bit heavey on the right foot you will be closer to 22- 24 mpg which is miles better than the 14 mpg i got from my 2005 mini cooper S.
All in all a few minuets behind the wheel and i gaurantee you will be like a love struck 18 year old all over again!
Love It n roll it like you stole it !

Had Many Different Cars But Hadnt Had Anything Lik
Had many different cars but hadnt had anything like a 'hot hatch' since the 80's so had a breif spell of madness and bought one of these...
My last fast car was a mx5 turbo and I wasnt expecting to much of the clio 182 to be honest.
Downsides this may be a good thing but find the car relatively sluggish anywhere below the magic 5000 rpm area and yes obviously the car is variable valve so supposed to be like that but you find unless thrashing this car there is just a distinct lack of power below 5000 rpm excessively so, but and a big but!!! thrash this through the not so great gear box from 5000 to 7500 rpm and it goes like stink its a shopping trolly on rails ,shocking handling it just grips on for dear life bit like my hands on the steering wheel!
Honestly I havent driven this near to its capabilities on corners.I am used to rear wheel drive but this car for a frontwheel drive is just like glue on the road and am sure I will be lifting the back wheel up soon !
Word of advice !, rear lights check them out as they rust on the contacts mine at the moment puts a fault on the traction control whenever I reverse and know its down to the rear light wiring (been to scrap yards seen a few with cut rewired lights!)
The renault clio 182 and its siblings are a strange cult choice of car, it does have foibles.
I love the interior the spec and extras as standard is staggering renault just threw in every extra ,climate, cruise, auto lights, auto wipers etc etc etc
the renault sport rs seats are nice hugging and leather side bolsters hold you in well around those corners and the suade inserts stop you sliding about when your pulling thos g'forces around corners , overall very nice seats.
Plastic trim not so good but bearable again this is a silly cheap car!
For the money this has to be the cheapest fastest you can buy and has to be the ultimate wolf in sheeps clothing ,it doesnt really look much different to some specced up standard clios just a closer look especially from rear 3/4 you see the twin exhaust lower stance and roof spoiler all subtle but classy even if many think its a 1.2 hatch you have done a really good job customising :)
If you dont want to be gawped at but do want a very very fast hatch then this is a steal buy one now 182bhp in a frontwheel drive rollerskate is more than enough thankyou :)

I Got My Renault From A Dealer Off E Bay In 2009 A
I got my renault from a dealer off e bay in 2009 and id wanted one for ages. Id had a vts before but wanted that bit extra and buy god did i get that bit extra, i love the clio its my little baby, i got white 5 spoke alloys on it and stripes running down bodywork, it looks like you can imagine it to look. I thought insurance may be a problem as group 16 is pretty high, but got all sorted for 800 quid fully comp. Whoever thinks the type r is faster than the clio bring it on, ive thrashed lots of them and focus st 170s. hint If your thinking of buying a clio get the cup version its very slightly faster than the normal 182 and you get a few extras with less weight etc, do your homework check the price guides, make sure your not getting rippied off, make sure the car is hpi clear and not been in an accident, after all that pay the man and your off.........you will thank me later trust me.

I Have Owned A Clio 182 Now For About 2 Year
I have owned a clio 182 now for about 2 years and it has been great car to drive. My one has the cup pack on it which has the cup spoiler, grey alloys and cup suspension. I still can't believe how quick this car is, it has no problem keeping up with its rivals. My one has been tuned by k-tec which are a renault tuning specialist, its has a janspeed exhaust system with sports cat, viper induction kit and it has been re-mapped to produce a fantastic 195bhp. It sounds great when you put you foot down, but its not loud at all when you are just cruising. I was thinking about buying the clio 197, but the power to weight ratio of the 182 is still 4bhp more than the new clio 200. I have had not a single thing go wrong with it, all I have done is changed the front tyres and given it an oil and filter change. The only down side is that the timing belt change on these cars is very expensive but don't let this put you off.It should be done at 36.000 miles, I've done 47.000 so far but I have been told by a local garage that the belt is fine and will not need changing for a long time. This car handles very well even in the wet, you get great feed back from the steering wheel and i recommend you keep the michelin exalto tyres on this car as standard with the cup pack. This car is now a great classic just like the williams.
