Just copied and paste my complaint letter to Mexicana for everybody to read!
On the 29th of April, my husband and I flew from London to Mexico City on a one-week holiday. This is not our first visit to your country. In fact we love Mexico, I am writing a book about it in Greek and we wanted to come back and gather information on the culture of your beautiful city.
The flight to Mexico City was extremely pleasant, we had very good places in the middle of the aircraft and the flight attendants were very good with us.
The way back from Mexico City on the 5th of May was a completely different matter. Even though we were among the first to check in we were placed on the emergency window area. My husband had an aisle seat which was not so bad but my window side was the most uncomfortable seat I have every had in all my flying experience (and I have been travelling a lot, in fact my father had a travel agency and I worked for him for many years). I am fully aware that somebody has to sit on these seats but the aircraft was not full and there were other alternatives.
The seat did not have a right hand armrest and the wall was extremely cold to lie on so I could not rest my head anywhere. Further to that the seat would not go back at all, it was stuck on the upright position. I was uncomfortable for 11 hours and I was extremely cold. As soon as we got back I was ill with a cold and a sore throat. I spent the whole night freezing, I had only one blanket and when I asked for another I was never given it. I found that the attendants were indifferent and I was treated like a child. When in the middle of the flight I complained about the cold, the stewardess mumbled something about me moving somewhere else and that she would look for a place for me to sit and she never came back.
I want you to know that I am not the type of person that comes back after holidays and writes complaint letters to the airlines. But this time the trip was outrageously bad for me and as I caught a cold as well, I felt I had to communicate with you. My sister in law who is a solicitor thought that I had to tell you immediately about what happened. I had paid the same as everybody else in the flight but my position was terrible.
My husband and I were thinking of bringing our children to Mexico for this summer and I am not so sure if I want to fly with you again. I am not sure if I will recommend you to friends either. It was such a shame to have this bad experience after such a lovely stay that we had in Mexico.

Worst Airline Ever. Flight From Calgary
Worst Airline Ever.
Flight from Calgary, Alberta, Canada was overbooked by 19 people! There were 19 of us that where not allowed on the plane. The representatives said this happens all the time. They tried to book us for another flight on another day, but only again with Mexicana. They would not outsource to other airlines. We would of missed our wedding so we found our own one way flight on WestJet. God I love WestJet.
Since we found our own flight, Mexicana proceeded to cancel the rest of our flights home.
After finding this out and correcting it with Mexicana at the Mexico city airport, they sneakily re-booked us as STANDBY only. We got to the airport 4 hours early to make sure no screw ups happened again. 1st in line, we had to wait for everyone else to board the plane to make sure it wasn't overbooked and that our STANDBY tickets could would be valid.
Mexicana Airlines are sneaky, liars and cheats. Do not fly with them.

Twice I Have Had Things Stolen From My Luggage.
twice I have had things stolen from my luggage.
one time from Hermosillo Mexico and the other yesterday from LA to Mexico City.
I will never choose this airline again not even if I get a free ticket.
i think I can deal with delays and sometimes bad customer service but Theft is Beyond Forgiveness.
if you still want to fly with them go for it but don't say I didn't warn you.

This Is The Worst Airline Ever! They Should Not Be
This is the worst airline ever! They should not be allowed to offer flights to anyone. I can't express enough how disappointing my trip with them was. I booked my flight with Expedia and chose to pay more for direct flight to Cancun instead of choosing another airline which offered cheaper flight. I still regret that decision. Both flights where overbooked. We spent 1,5h at the airport arguing with staff to get on a plane. We also had to stay in Mexico one more day on the way back home even when both, my husband and I, couldn't afford to miss another day at work. We were promised to receive a financial compensation for this inconvenience and we're told that our voucher will be cashed at the airport but this was a lie. It's been over a month since we came back and we still haven't received our money. The staff at Mexicana constantly tells people lies. I asked for a vegetarian meal and was told at check-in that it's confirmed for both me and my husband. While in the air we found out that this was a lie and there are no vegetarian meals for us. The stewardess told my husband that pasta they serve has no meat but when he opened the meal they were huge chunks of meat in it. I could go on and on with that. In the end, my vacation was ruined by this airline and I do not recommend anyone to flight with them.

This Airline Sucks! I Had The Worse Cu
This airline SUCKS!
I had the worse customer service with this company - EVER. I was trying to make arrangements for my parents this Christmas to fly to Mexico for the holidays. I was on hold for 40 minutes and finally reached a live person to speak with but it was the wrong department (although it was the customer service number on their website).
No one could seem to help me as I was redirected 4 times. It seems that purchasing an airline ticket versus purchasing an airline package from them is two different departments and have two sets of rules.
With all the trouble I had to go through, it was no longer a Merry Christmas.
BUYER BEWARE! WORSE AIRLINE EVER!

This Is By Far The Worst Airline Ever!!!! Their Cu
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST AIRLINE EVER!!!! Their customer service is non existent. They have 5 customer service telephone numbers and they are all busy. Finally, when my call went through the person couldn't help me. All I needed was to check in online and their online service wasn't working. If I would have known they were this stupid and rude- I would have tried some other airline.

We Booked A Trip To Cancun, Mexico From Los Angele
We booked a trip to Cancun, Mexico from Los Angeles. When we got to the airport, the line was so long that we were denied boarding our flight. The customer service rep said that we had to be there 2 hours in advance. We thought, okay, then we'll just get on the next flight. But the customer service rep told us that since we are late, we would have to paid a late fee, which was $150 each. After some arguing, we decided to pay the late fee, but then she mentioned that we will have to also pay the price difference between the flights which was another $500 each. We couldn't believe it. Our whole trip didn't even cost as much. We told the customer service rep that we wanted to speak to a manager. So she called a manager over and before we could even talk to the manager, she spoke in spanish and told our situation. The manager then turns to us and said, she has told me everything and there is nothing I can do for you and just left. We tried calling their customer service phone number, but we got so many people who either didn't understand English or didn't know how to help us. And when we did get someone who spoke English, they pretended that there were no seats available, but clearly there were. It was so frustrating that we just had to cancel our vacation. So, don't fly with Mexicana Airlines if you have a choice.

If I Could Give Negative Stars I Would! We Booked
If I could give negative stars I would! We booked with Mexicana in April 2009 for flight in December 2009 from Vancouver to Ixtapa. In September 2009 we were contacted and told our flight was cancelled (seems to be a trend from other reviews). Our options as provided by Mexicana were to flight out 2 days earlier, miss Christmas with the family and incurr additional hotel costs or fly out later reducing our 7 day vacation to 3 days. Neither option was acceptable. Mexicana is blaiming the airport but it appears they changed their schedule totally. Merry Christmas to all the Mexicana employees who have ruined mine & my families!!!

Woke Up The Morning Of My Flight To Guatemala City
Woke up the morning of my flight to Guatemala City. Checked the website that morning to re-confirm flight details. To my surprise, my first leg MTY - MEX had been canceled. Actually had called the night before, since the website does not display next day's departures!?!? and confirmed the flight. No problem at 11:30 p.m. - the night before.
Called customer service - waited 30 minutes to speak to someone - time was ticking away. The CSR confirmed that the 1st leg of the trip. . .and nothing else. Nothing in the means of "oh, we've already rebooked you. Nor - sorry for the inconvenience." - just dead silence! Eventually, I asked her to rebook the flight - and the woman found a flight that was going to leave at 8:30 a.m. - ummm it was 7:30 a.m. while I was talking to her on the phone in my home! She didn't seem to understand. Eventually, after arguing with her, she "found" space on another flight!?!?
Arrived at the airport - a zoo. Apparently, Mexicana forgot to inform the other 100 passengers that their flight was canceled. The reps were beyond pathetic. They bickered amongst themselves stating that certain flights were canceled, while others weren't!?! When asked why customers weren't informed of the cancellations, she stated "It's Semana Santa - one of our busiest weeks - they must have been too busy."
My recommendation: if you want an acute form of hypertension - fly Mexicana. In other words, life is tough enough - DO NOT PURCHASE FROM MEXICANA! Be warned.

Drive, Walk, Ride Your Bike, Take The Bus, Or Even
Drive, walk, ride your bike, take the bus, or even hitchhike before booking with this airline. We originally bought a set of tickets to Mexico in May of 2008. At the time of our flight we were turned away because my wife only had "white passport" even though we were originally told by the staff that it would be o.k. to travel with such documents they then charged us more money to re-issue the tickets for a later time. We were hesitant of going due to recent swine flue and when we asked to reschedule we were told by the agent that we have till December to book another flight. When I called again to give them a date I was told by another agent that they no longer honor the tickets and I basically need to buy a whole new sets of tickets.
