I Actually Haved Three Digifusions And A Sony Whic
I actually haved three digifusions and a sony which is basicly a digifusion with a sony badge. Yes i have battled the horrid HOLD thing but I wouldnt let it beat me and after a lot of advice on a digifusion forum I upgraded the software/changed the harddrive to a 80mb laptop drive ,got rid of the noisy fan and heypresto a fantastic and easy dvr with the freindliest user interface of all. The Sony unfortunately has a rubish interface and at this moment in time cannot be altered.....but I am still optomistic..
A lot of messing around but well worth it when done. Thanks to all the Guys on the forum for thier great work...
Five stars - what !! Had battles with the Hold problem, upgraded software, replaced hard drive, replaced the fan. It's a bit like Triggers Broom, not much of the original survives. So I reckon the 5 stars don't really belong to the product as sold. I've had two of these things - both caused endless grief and both ended up in the bin. Still, I'm pleased you like it.

I've Had One Of These For About 2 Years Now And It
I've had one of these for about 2 years now and it's fantastic - I love it!
Anyone who has written a scathing review - please can I give you some money to cover costs and have yours for others in my family?
I've seen mention of the HOLD issue and the freezing up and yes; I've experienced all of that.
Tried buying a newer more costly replacement (another make) and found that was awful to use with a horrible user interface. So, as previously mentioned I opened it up (I work with computers regularly) and tried another hard disk drive, that didn't play ball for long and in desperation as it was all I had to hand tried a laptop hard drive (with a converter plug), i didn't bother to refit the fan from the original hard disk and I've been so pleased with performance since that I've never bothered to change the laptop hard disk. It looked to be a heating issue to start with and now I'm convinced. :)
NB the software for the new hard drive downloads automatically as so as you power it up, just give it a few minutes and you're off and running.

A Very Good Overall Experience With The Digifusion
A very good overall experience with the DigiFusion FVRT100. It has served my family well for over two years yet just in the recent month it has broken down causing problems yet these were quickly rectified by a TV repair shop. Very easy device to use with the ability to record 2 diffrent programs and watch a recording on the "Libary" supports all my family's television needs.

I Have Had My Digifusion Fvrt100 For Approximately
I have had my Digifusion FVRT100 for approximately 8 months, and already I've experienced the problems reported countless times by other hapless owners of this great turd of a digibox recorder; namely, it got stuck in HOLD for a while, which it cured all by itself, then just after Christmas it decided to become unresponsive. It wouldn't perform any function quickly - changing channel alone would take at least a minute, and the guide and record functions became unuseable.
At the end of my tether, I ordered a new PSU (a common attempted cure) online; it arrived literally the day my FVRT 100 decided to return to normal (minus a functional EPG initially).
It was fine for a month, and all of a sudden it has gone back to being unresponsive. Admittedly, I haven't attempted to contact the company about my problems

I've Been Dying To See All Those Progs Recorded Ov
I've been dying to see all those progs recorded over the months, but - hey-ho. Now have a Panasonic and a Samsung but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Getting a whole year out of it ain't bad -when they work they're great! When mine started repeatedly freezing after 8 months I disconnected it and got an FVRT150. When the FVRT150 went bonkers after 3 months I re-connected the FVRT100 and for 3 weeks now it's worked flawlessly! I've since had the FVRT150 replaced but after 2 weeks the sound has goofed. A high hassle-factor by anyone's standards.Your hold problem is often put down to a weak or failing PSU but even if you rectified this, something else would probably go; if there was an easy fix we'd all have it already.

When The Digifusion Fvrt100 Worked It Was Excellen
When the DigiFusion FVRT100 worked it was excellent. Then started to freeze, on playback. Then get a mind of its own, deciding to break into the TV channel you were watching, refuse to switch off. Helpline was initially impossible to contact - lots of music and apologies - but easier later in week. There is also help e-mail, here I was recommended to upgrade power-supply from 3Amps to 4-5, but is this good money after bad? The phone help-line engineer felt is was more than power-supply, but the hard-drive itself. So its the bin (sorry recycle) for the Digifusion. I don't think I will purchase another Digifusion product.

I Had The Digifusion Fvrt100 "box" And For The Fir
I had the DigiFusion FVRT100 "box" and for the first 18 months thought it was absolutely brilliant then it started to go wrong. A new power supply was the first thing, then it would get slower and slower and simply stop working. Response from the digifusion customer support was varied. I was given a few "re-set" fixes that worked at first but then achieved nothing. (I was having to re-set the box daily) Finally and with some reluctance I have slung the thing out. I have not found anything as good at a comparable price but I am not buying another digifusion while they are that unreliable.

I Bought My "box" As A Refurbished Item Just To Ev
I bought my "box" as a refurbished item just to evaluate a new technology at a cheap price, then if I thought it worthwhile I would buy a more up-market one... It worked fine for a couple of days and I was very pleased with it until it froze, this was overcome by switching it off and on again. However after a few days of this continually happening I decided to open up the box to have a look (I am a competant electrical techo)... I realised that there was a possible heat problem with the hard drive so installed some heatsink material squashed between the hard drive and the outer case. I also strapped the power supply to the metalsupport of the television stand to dissapate some of its heat. The unit has now been working fine for the last 9 months without any further problems... I still have it because I like it and don't feel like parting with it as previously planned. Hope this helps someone with similar symptoms.
I found this review very helpful because...
It gives a simple fix for a common problem with this product; I was going to pass up on this product but might give it a try now. If I do go ahead I will probably rip it apart and put the recommended heat sink on top of the hard drive straight away.

I Am Very Satisfied With The Performance Of The Di
I am very satisfied with the performance of the DigiFusion FVRT100. However I utterly detest companies who treat their customers like dirt. I am going up to Comet/Currys now to buy another hard drive recorder after yet another total loss of recorded programmes with Digifusion machine. I see many other customers have had absolutely poor response from this company when they had similar problems.

For The First 18 Months I Was Pleased With The Per
For the first 18 months I was pleased with the performance of my DigiFusion FVRT100. However, now there is no longer any warranty it is failing on a daily basis. The support team had to replace the mains supply unit under warranty some time ago, but I am now finding the unit dying overnight. It will either display an incorrect time (presumably the time when it fails) or will show a channel number, but in either event it will not respond to either the remote control or the standby switch on the front panel. There is a lenghty procedure to reactivate it but involves clearing the hard disk which results in the total loss of any unseen recordings. I have e-mailed the support team several times. They eventually reply, but today they seem to be ignoring the last two cries for help! I will certainly not buy another of their products unless a miracle happens and the unit is repaired under the statutory rights act where I should expect a reasonable length of fault free use. I leave you to guess what their reaction to that was!
