Sold A New But 100% Not. Bashed Unit.

Warning. Sold ‘as new’ but definitely not.

Purchased waste disposal unit.

Had it urgently fitted - when unboxing, the plumber pointed out it was a very bashed unit, many dents and significant evidence of mishandling etc. ie 100% NOT new.

I asked TLC for help

They want me to pay for the unit to be removed first. They then replace. I then need to pay for the new fitting.

Therefore I have to pay 3x for a unit that should have been brand new but clearly wasn’t.

Be warned.

They claim the unit was checked prior to sale!!. 100% not. I have photos of the significant dents.

I kindly asked them to help me with them facilitating me the replacement unit …. a firm “NO”.

I then asked for the costs for the required removal of the (not)new unit and the fitting of the proper new unit to be covered. I was not after a profit, just the extra plumber costs to be covered … another firm “NO”

Quality checking. 100% No.

Sold as ‘new’ - Yes.

Provided as ‘new’ - 100% No.

Did they really try to help me - No, they just threw in their small print Ts and Cs.

They win. I lose. Well done to them.

They win at the expense of an unsuspecting customer who just wanted a new item as ‘sold’.

I’ve since read other reviews. This has happened to others. A trend maybe. One I should have read up on before perhaps.

They’ve not been helpful. Just difficult. Regardless of what they say.

Hoselock

I was looking to buy a quality hose as I'd been through a couple of cheap ones in the last 2/3 years and had my eye on a Hoselock 2 in 1 reel. After trawling the internet I found the product for sale with TLC at least around £12 cheaper than anywhere else after delivery and added Vat. As a sceptic I was expecting it to have something missing when it arrived but no the product was genuine and the service in terms of delivery (during this mad Covid crisis) was exceptional. The hose was paid for, dispatched, delivered and bolted to my wall in 3 days. Even Amazon prime was going to take longer and charge me £60 for the product. Good effort guys, I will be recommending your business.

Deceiving

Very disappointed.

They thrived from the much traffic to their website by advertising a good at 40p each.

Then, when one buys it, the basket price become 72p each!! (Double it. Think if we buy 300 items at time, the price jumps to £500 from a £280!!)

Instead of honouring their price promise (that generated so much traffic onto their website in first place), they brush it off saying it was a mistake.

Just so that we are all on the same page: by law, you have to honour your price promise...

Like if now I go online and sell Mike shoes for £10, then the basket automatically charges £70 ... nice making money!!

Horrendous Delivery!

Have been using TLC for sometime now but since you changed carrier from Parcelforce to DPD it's been a disaster! I could order when on a job knowing that the delivery would arrive the following day but since you have started using DPD I can no longer do this and so I am now losing money! Delivery is also arriving too late in the day for me to continue using TLC.

Poor Quality, Wrong Description, Poor Customer Service

Used TLC for some years now, but seems they are now far too big for their boots, cannot offer the customer service they used to, let alone get descriptions and photos correct, quality is now very poor on many products.

Ask any technical questions on products they have no idea.

No one at TLC deals with anything, pass you around, saying we will credit you, then next you know you get a solicitors letter with a threat of court action, for something that was TLCs fault.

Then you write an long explanation to them and they do not even bother to reply!

Best avoid this company, all the products they sell can be found online often cheaper and better quality, rather than cheap inferior items.

What A Great Company

I just wanted to say thank you for tha part you played in construction of my daughters home, I’ve had about £10000 electrical equipment over the last 15 months and I only had 2 minor problems but they were dealt with immediately. I always recommend your company as it’s the way a company deal with problems we’ll that makes it stand out from the rest.

Went into Coulsdon store to try to replace smoke alarms, had great service from the person I dealt with, pleased with my purchase and price, was also impressed by his colleague who was helping an elderly gentleman to replace a kettle lead, will definitely recommend to friends and visit there in the future.

Avoid This Trash And Be Very Careful W/ Your Personal Detail

AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Pure and utter rubbish service at the wembley store. The guy who "disserved me" was unbelievably RUDE.

For a £2 CASH purchase he insisted on getting all my details. When I asked why, as he is under the law, I believe, supposed to inform me HOW the info will be used, HOW it will be protected, WHAT it is for that they ask for it all, and HOW I can make sure it is deleted.

He then became even more rude. "This is how it is, he said, information and you get the goods, no information and no goods" or something to that effect in his stupid English.

My visit, today, 3 April at 4 PM.

ATTENTION ALL BUYERS: Make sure that you know why this organisation is collecting data on you, your personal information may well be at risk as this idiot couldn't explain how they store it, let alone why they're gathering it in the first place.

Screwfix with its polite staff are just around the corner and there is a Leyland SDM in Wembley and one on Edgware Road--STAFFED BY POLITE PEOPLE!!!

I am really sorry that the service you received from us fell short on this occasion.

I have spoken to the staff at Wembley and it seems there has been a misunderstanding and the staff have now undergone re-training.

To clarify : We ask for customer details so that we have a record of your name and address on your invoice and should you have a faulty product, the item can be exchanged or refunded under warranty.

Should you wish to not provide us with this information, we can bypass the request for your name and address and simply complete the sale for you without it.

The staff at TLC Wembley are now aware of this.

I would be grateful if you could make contact with me so that I can compensate for any inconvenience that has been caused.
