“Sold a New but 100% NOT. BASHED unit. ”

Warning. Sold ‘as new’ but definitely not. Purchased waste disposal unit. Had it urgently fitted - when unboxing, the plumber pointed out it was a very bashed unit, many dents and significant evidence of mishandling etc. ie 100% NOT new. I asked TLC for help They want me to pay for the unit to be removed first. They then replace. I then need to pay for the new fitting. Therefore I have to pay 3x for a unit that should have been brand new but clearly wasn’t. Be warned. They claim the unit was checked prior to sale!!. 100% not. I have photos of the significant dents. I kindly asked them to help me with them facilitating me the replacement unit …. a firm “NO”. I then asked for the costs for the required removal of the (not)new unit and the fitting of the proper new unit to be covered. I was not after a profit, just the extra plumber costs to be covered … another firm “NO” Quality checking. 100% No. Sold as ‘new’ - Yes. Provided as ‘new’ - 100% No. Did they really try to help me - No, they just threw in their small print Ts and Cs. They win. I lose. Well done to them. They win at the expense of an unsuspecting customer who just wanted a new item as ‘sold’. I’ve since read other reviews. This has happened to others. A trend maybe. One I should have read up on before perhaps. They’ve not been helpful. Just difficult. Regardless of what they say.

“Hoselock”

I was looking to buy a quality hose as I'd been through a couple of cheap ones in the last 2/3 years and had my eye on a Hoselock 2 in 1 reel. After trawling the internet I found the product for sale with TLC at least around £12 cheaper than anywhere else after delivery and added Vat. As a sceptic I was expecting it to have something missing when it arrived but no the product was genuine and the service in terms of delivery (during this mad Covid crisis) was exceptional. The hose was paid for, dispatched, delivered and bolted to my wall in 3 days. Even Amazon prime was going to take longer and charge me £60 for the product. Good effort guys, I will be recommending your business.

“Deceiving”

Very disappointed. They thrived from the much traffic to their website by advertising a good at 40p each. Then, when one buys it, the basket price become 72p each!! (Double it. Think if we buy 300 items at time, the price jumps to £500 from a £280!!) Instead of honouring their price promise (that generated so much traffic onto their website in first place), they brush it off saying it was a mistake. Just so that we are all on the same page: by law, you have to honour your price promise... Like if now I go online and sell Mike shoes for £10, then the basket automatically charges £70 ... nice making money!!

“Horrendous delivery!”

Have been using TLC for sometime now but since you changed carrier from Parcelforce to DPD it's been a disaster! I could order when on a job knowing that the delivery would arrive the following day but since you have started using DPD I can no longer do this and so I am now losing money! Delivery is also arriving too late in the day for me to continue using TLC.

“Poor quality, wrong description, poor customer service”

Used TLC for some years now, but seems they are now far too big for their boots, cannot offer the customer service they used to, let alone get descriptions and photos correct, quality is now very poor on many products. Ask any technical questions on products they have no idea. No one at TLC deals with anything, pass you around, saying we will credit you, then next you know you get a solicitors letter with a threat of court action, for something that was TLCs fault. Then you write an long explanation to them and they do not even bother to reply! Best avoid this company, all the products they sell can be found online often cheaper and better quality, rather than cheap inferior items.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS: Pure and utter rubbish service at the wembley store. The guy who "disserved me" was unbelievably RUDE. For a £2 CASH purchase he insisted on getting all my details. When I asked why, as he is under the law, I believe, supposed to inform me HOW the info will be used, HOW it will be protected, WHAT it is for that they ask for it all, and HOW I can make sure it is deleted. He then became even more rude. "This is how it is, he said, information and you get the goods, no information and no goods" or something to that effect in his stupid English. My visit, today, 3 April at 4 PM. ATTENTION ALL BUYERS: Make sure that you know why this organisation is collecting data on you, your personal information may well be at risk as this idiot couldn't explain how they store it, let alone why they're gathering it in the first place. Screwfix with its polite staff are just around the corner and there is a Leyland SDM in Wembley and one on Edgware Road--STAFFED BY POLITE PEOPLE!!!

I am really sorry that the service you received from us fell short on this occasion.

I have spoken to the staff at Wembley and it seems there has been a misunderstanding and the staff have now undergone re-training.

To clarify : We ask for customer details so that we have a record of your name and address on your invoice and should you have a faulty product, the item can be exchanged or refunded under warranty.

Should you wish to not provide us with this information, we can bypass the request for your name and address and simply complete the sale for you without it.

The staff at TLC Wembley are now aware of this.

I would be grateful if you could make contact with me so that I can compensate for any inconvenience that has been caused.

Wanted to replace the under cupboard fluorescent lights. Working under kitchen cupboards strains my neck, so I didn't want to faff about. Bought 4 replacement LED lights, KBUCLED9, and they arrived the next day. At the weekend I fitted them. Expected to take about 2 hours, but actually assembled tools, removed the old units and replaced the lights and cleared up in 25 minutes. Well impressed. I didn't expect the units to arrive the day after ordering and I didn't expect the fitting to be so easy.

“LATE FAULTY ARROGANT!”

Placed an order and paid for express deliver. I fed back to TLC as the good arrived late and out of the time frame. I had been messed about by carrier for over four hours on phone but eventually tracked goods and had them delivered. So fed back to TLC whom sent arrogant email stating NEXT DAY IS NEXT DAY 08:00 -18:00 etc and advised to leave more time in-future etc etc. No apology even though delivered goods hours outside the next day 08:00-18:00 time slot. So very poor service but it doesn't end their also the good don't work. I have emailed and called and awaiting an update. To be fair I am not sure if they are original OEM products or just poor copies. But either way the poor quality goods match the level of their service. So buyer beware.

Having spoken to you, we understand that you placed a next day delivery order that was indeed delivered next day.

The upset was caused by the fact that Parcelforce had sent a text during the day advising you they would deliver .. but in fact delivered later that evening.

We have spoken to Parcelforce about this and they apologise as they are having problems offering a good service during their busy Christmas period.

This situation was made all the worse by the fact the fan turned out to be faulty.

You said in your email that you were upset as you wanted to fit a fan that day for an elderly customer of yours and as good will gesture TLC have refunded the price of that fan for you and supplied a fan free of charge so that it be supplied free to your customer.

We trust this has gone some way towards rectifying the situation for you.

Just thought I'd add an up date as I have used TLC for over the last ten years without a problem, and these issues were caused by a manufacturing fault on the part out of TLC's control and they replaced the item quickly and efficiently with no issues to me. The main issues and why I wrote to them was all down to the delivery service to be fair which they have compensated me for and have also gone on to refund the money for the FAN.

So would I use them again YES would I recommend them YES would I recommend their chosen carrier probably not. Also when I have spoken to them they have been nothing but Courteous and helpful through out every order and this one issue. So thank you

Yes having spoken to me you agreed it was not delivered as per your next day service?! You apologies for the miss information and for my waisted four hours chasing a parcel which didn't arrives as per your terms and payment. You also apologies for the arrogant email and agreed my comments were justified. So why have you posted contradictory comments? Perhaps it wasn't just a one off or mishap as you previously stated.

You haven't supplied a free fan either? You did offer to refund £40 pounds if I would consider to remove my comments and feed back and yes you have sent a replacement which again didn't arrives as informed. But does actually work so thank you. For the fan to be free it you would need to refund £92 and not £40.

So I have paid for for the fan at full price and for the next day deliver at full price and you asked for the faulty one to be returned ? You also advised you would arrange for collection and it is still here.

So to re cap. You haven't provided anything free merely fulfilled the original order in brief and posted some flannel update for I guess future customers to make it seem like customer service. Which is a shame.

As for my elderly customer... they are happy as per my original email to you I didn't charge them for next day as it wasn't delivered next day. I also fitted the fan for free and I re fitted the replacement at no cost to them as they had been messed around. Which is only fair I think.

Also when I emailed you re the poor service and goods I didn't ask for money back or a free fan. I just notified you of the poor service and goods and expressed my disappointment . I asked for a refund for the next day deliver in my second email after receiving your arrogant patronizing response and I also notified you of the items failure to work as described.
Like most customer I would rather you rectify situation rather than just going part way or some way to rectify them.
So you claim to have sent a free fan ? then you should do so and provide the full refund ? Currently you have provided less than half.. a refund with strings attached .. my maths makes ... £40 < 1/2 of £ £92.

I won’t hold my breath waiting to receiving the rest of the refund! But thank you for sending a working fan in the end. All the best x
