Waste Of Money

Had iIQE boiler fitter 6 years ago, has been nothing but problems from day 1. Second service boiler had to be removed and refitted correctly. It has a problem with low pressure constantly have had to pay for repairs because Simi say there is no problem. We never get much or very hot water. Have decided to cut our losses and get it replaced.

Unreliable Piece Of Junk

Had an IQE simplicity 35 via B&Q ( should have known better! ) Was told it was state of the art and new. Actually re branded old Sime boiler. Has broken down 4 times since new ( installed may 2015 ) Various faults. New circuit board needed after 10 months. Put itself into engineer mode once . Another time jets had to be adjusted as they were way off , and now completely dead waiting for engineer! really wish I had used reliable local engineer and got a Worcester Bosch or Valiant. When the IQE works it is OK. IT cost me £4000 to replace my old boiler with this one, which is v expensive ( good old B&Q again! ) Waiting for installation date took months . Plus getting a remote thermostat took another couple of weeks. In short don't get this boiler and Don't trust B&Q!

No Problems.

Had this boiler installed free as part of government scheme, 3 years on and no problems at all , although it is quite difficult to find a suitable service engineer, boiler apparently manufactured by Sime and doesn't seem to be that well known.

Do Not Recommend

Broke after 17 Months. Was ok for my 3bedroom house. But the money that I've spent on it against reliability? NO MORE

Warning Read The Small Print Iqe 30

WARNING read the small print

I had the IQE simplicity 30 boiler installed in august 2013 all was good.

I had a 10 year warranty with it i thought i was sorted no more bills

how i was mistaken.

i had my boiler serviced for the first time in November 2015 still all worked fine.

The problem started last week beginning of April 2016 my boiler started to play up.

I phoned the help center phone number to get what i thought was support

WAS I IN FOR A SHOCK.

The help center informed me that i was not covered for parts or labor for my boiler due to not having my boiler serviced in the first 12 months.

I have now had to find my own plumber that could fix it it was

the temperature censor that has gone.

This is a WARNING for anyone that is thinking of installing an IQE boiler

If you don't have your boiler serviced yearly it will void any warranty on any boiler whether it's a top of the range or a cheap boiler also you have to have your gas pipe work tested for any leaks then you get issued a gas safety certificate which will give you peace of mind that you and your family are safe ... a gas safe engineer

it does say serviced every year that within 12 months .the first service it critical

20 months after installation .park on a meter pay for one hour and stay two and see if you don't get a ticket..

Warranty conditions same for all makes. Why did you not stick to the conditions? Same with car warranties.

2 Years And No Problem

I had this installed through b&q government scheme and it's been fantastic only things I've needed to do was replace batteries in the thermostat which actually took me few days to work out and couple times turn a valve to increase pressure. Hassle free and great. It looks good and having the combi boiler rather than the old tanks is a dream would defo recommend this boiler I have 3.5 bed end terraced house and it is genuinely cold house due to the build and within 5 min the whole place is warm if not on the 24 hour settings

Repeated Stops Working

Bought this boiler approx 16 months ago, attracted by the 10 year warranty. The B & Q sales rep seemed OK, but had a quite a few delays in the installation with the wrong size boiler arriving and then left without heat or hot water for about 5 days. Main issue is that the boiler has a recurring fault where it stops working and requires a 'reset'. When I spoke to the people who deal with the warranty, they said it was probably due to b & q not specifying a larger gas supply pipe for the boiler, and would charge me approx £150 plus to come and check! So much for the warranty. Thought the installers would have checked the gas supply at the time!!

The Halo remote control for the boiler also has 'communication' errors every few days, and it has now become a family party game as to if we will still have hot water halfway through a shower

Thanks - I went back to them and explained that it had been signed off by the fitters and I also had another plumber check the pressure, which was ok. Once I got to speak to the correct person, an engineer came out quickly and found a fault with the igniter which was producing a spark where a spark should not be! Replaced this and a few weeks in, it seems to be working well. Solved the problem of the Halo control unit by siting it right next to the boiler - it does not seem to like to be more than 15 feet away from the control unit. Fingers crossed....

there are regulations on the gas pipe size which it states in the instructions.what size is required. a gas safe fitter mush sign it off to receive building reg's cert.

I have a 35 k IQE which has a 22 mm supply gas pipe.installed in 20/11/15

and is great.so far

Don't Buy It

I purchased this boiler and had it fitted but the flue didn't fit. I waited 5 weeks to get the correct flue as they kept sending the wrong one. Eventually got the correct flue had it fitted but turn on the boiler only for it to come up with numerous faults. Now awaiting an engineer to come out . All this time we have had no heating through November and December. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this boiler to anyone
