Time Waster
Made an equiry, but then decided to renew the lease on our current car but have had endless emails, texts and phone calls, badgering me, despite telling them multiple times I'm not longer interested. Sick of the texts & emails multiple times a day and phone calls.

Great Sales, Lousy After Sales Service
Hippo charged £300 for a ceramic coating that has been verified not to have been applied inside or out. The car was delivered filthy inside and out and now they could not car less and still expect me to pay for something they have not done, a complete money making sham.

Extremely Disappointed Customer
Extremely Disappointed Customer - Hippo Motor Group
I recently leased a Vauxhall Corsa E from Hippo Motor Group, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I received the car just three days ago, and to my dismay, it was riddled with repairs that needed immediate attention.
On the third day of having the car, I encountered a major issue when attempting to charge it. The car abruptly stopped working due to a gearbox malfunction. I contacted their service for assistance, and they diagnosed a fault in the electric system of the Vauxhall Corsa E. This is unacceptable for a car that I paid a significant amount of money for.
Moreover, the car was delivered without proper tax, which should be a basic expectation when leasing a vehicle. This negligence on their part only adds to my frustration with the overall service provided by Hippo Motor Group.
To make matters worse, the delivery experience was chaotic. The delivery person thoughtlessly parked the car directly in front of the driveway, obstructing other vehicles. This lack of professionalism and consideration is indicative of the careless approach I've experienced from the beginning.
Considering the exorbitant amount I paid for a car fraught with issues and the subpar service received, I am left with no choice but to cancel my association with Hippo Motor Group entirely. I am thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience and would strongly advise others to think twice before engaging with this company.

Wrong Car Delivered!!
I placed an order for a car which was in stock - agreed the lease costs and term and signed the contracts.
Hippo then ordered and delivered the model I had asked for but with the wrong specification, year and engine.
The model is I had been quoted as being in stock and had quickly ordered after being told there was only one left had been sold to someone else at this point.
I was left without a car and after hours waiting for calls back and forth to try and find a solution the best Hippo could offer was the car I wanted but with an inferior specification, for over £90 extra a month.
I was left having to get a hire car - they agreed this was probably my only option.
The cost of the hire car for the week that I needed it was £400 and as soon as I wasn’t interested in getting another lease with them they kept passing me from department to department meaning I spent 3 hours on the phone across a number of weeks to finally get someone to take ownership. They then told me they had no interest in covering this costee and that they had no legal obligation to do so despite accepting fault for the incorrect car being delivered multiple times.

Stay Away From Hippo Leasing!!!!!
Bought a car from hippo leasing recently, transaction was completed over the phone and online. As I was desperate to get a car, I never read the reviews if not I would stay away. Anyway car got delivered at an extra charge for weekend and I was expected to assess the car within 10 minutes. Well just letting you know that when you buy a car from these people you have to allow yourself time to properly go through every details of the car. After that they tell you that you accepted the car without complains so their hands are tied. Mine had a broken fuel cap, no carpets in the car, broken boot lock and a busted vent. But I was expected to see all this on the day of delivery within the 10 minute window. So I accept that’s my mistake, it’s my first used car purchase so didn’t know.
But after the complaint, no one got back to me for weeks and later after I received one email telling me my case was being closed for not responding, I told them I was awaiting their response. They lied about sending me several emails which I never received and they refused to reimburse me for the fuel cap I replaced.
Well unless your desperate…Stay away from Hippo Leasing!!!!!!

Avoid At All Cost
Avoid at all cost.
Your experience will start very positively, you will speak to a very helpful and informed member of the sales team who will talk you through your options and keep in contact with you during the sales process.
Please do not be fooled by this "introductory phase", the second Hippo have your money or signature on a contract they no longer want to hear from you. You will spend hours and days calling their office to be told everyone is either too busy to help, or away from their desks, or their phone doesn't work properly yet!
During your sales phase, they will give you an estimated delivery day, do not believe this! And if your business is dependent on your vehicle (as mine is) I would strongly recommend you to look for another company, my business has suffered as a direct result of Hippo's poor communication, pathetic customer service and general incompetence.
When you call Hippo their waiting music will tell you about how they treat each customer like family, I must be the family member they don't like as I spent days and days waiting for calls from managers that never happened.
When the car did arrive it was extremely poorly cleaned and had significant damages and defects not declared at any point, however after taking my money and leaving me hanging on for so long I had no option but to accept the car so that I could start working again.
My car came with a lovely collection of stained seats and armrests, damaged rims, scratched body/paint work, scratches to interior plastics and a missing navigation sd card.
When I was finally able to speak to a sales manager I asked for a contact email to speak to someone about my experience, they sent me to trust pilot to leave this review just proving that this is a company that will take your money and not care for one second about you as a customer.
Please heed my advice to avoid at all cost.
I'm having this trouble. I've paid the arrangement fee and the GAP insurance. I understand that the vehicle I've chosen has been recalled but now 6 weeks further on and no car.
Agreed! Excellent sales spiel and then hopeless. Appalling and utterly disrespectful service. They hardly ever get back to you and if they do it serves to keep you hanging on.
I signed my contract two months ago and still don’t have a car even though I am already paying for the finance! I will now take legal action as it is unacceptable.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
Bought a Range Rover Evoque after finally being able to afford this car of our dreams and Hippo Leasing have made the experience an absolute nightmare. Its put me off buying cars for life!! Quick enough to take your money but then absolutely THE WORSE AND MOST SHOCKING after sales and customer service i have ever witnessed. Engine warning light came on 3 weeks after purchase and almost half a year later, 1000's of emails, arguments, back and forth, upset and crying they agreed to do the work after they found out they couldn't do it on the cheap! Also had a fault on the tires the day we picked it up that was diagnosed while was in the garage and now refusing to pay when the fault was there when we drove the car away. All we got was "We will call you back" then heard absolutely nothing for weeks on end. The car has been in the garage more than we've been able to enjoy it. They left it sitting in land rover for 5 weeks before finally agreeing to do the work but only because we begged them to use our over a THREE THOUSAND POUNDS deposit... Even now the fault still exists and they refuse to take responsibility for the issues saying it had a MOT before we bought it. The customer sales team are NOT HELPFUL, RUDE AND try to just FOB YOU OFF at every opportunity. If you want to get ripped off then use Hippo Leasing but I would rather stick pins in my eyes then deal with this company again.

Appalling Customer Service
Great service initially from the sales team. However, this all changed on the day of collection of the car. Several very concerning issues arose in the first hour of driving, and trying to get a response, never mind a resolution, has proved almost impossible. 10 days later, 29 emails and 19 telephone calls during this time and I'm still in possession of a car that requires a new clutch and gearbox (their mechanics opinion). I'm not entitled to a courtesy car. Apparently. As it's not included in the plan. I cannot get to work, I cannot visit my daughter in hospital. And I'm still waiting for somebody to contact me to offer a solution given that I've been sold a car that isn't fit for purpose. Absolutely shocking experience on the whole, with the exception of a couple of staff members who do seem to genuinely care about the customers.
Hi I am in a similar situation and looking to take legal action on hippo. I’m just wondering how you got on with taking it to the ombudsman?
That's what as happened to me, I got 3 weeks out of my car mines been in a garage for 4 days and counting with exactly the same problems as yours
I’m exactly the same. I’ve taken my complaint to the ombudsman. Their managers don’t have a clue about good service. They’re all friendly and nice when they take your money off you but the after care is awful.
