I’m on Universal Credit, so I’m entitled to free NHS prescriptions. I’ve never had problems before, but this time Chemist 4 U tried to charge me for my sertraline prescription, even though nothing had changed. I sent proof of my exemption straight away, but got no reply for 2 days and still haven’t received my medication (the prescription was issued 6 days ago on 11/4/25).

After sending several messages and filing a complaint via their website, someone from Customer Retentions finally responded (2 days after I had provided the exemption evidence). She said my exemption had been added and the prescription would be processed "shortly." But nearly 24 hours later (6 days after my prescription was issued), nothing has been dispatched.

It also didn’t sit right with me that customer retentions put "universal credit" in quotes in her response to me. It felt a bit dismissive, like she was questioning whether I deserved free prescriptions.

Chemist 4 U has yet to dispatch this medication, which is vital for my mental health. Moreover, the extra stress has made things worse. Based on this awful experience, and others I’ve heard about, I’d say avoid Chemist 4 U if you rely on regular medication.

Over 2 weeks from my order they have cancelled. Long time to wait to only cancel on me. Very bad service avoid company I am not the only one they do this too by looking at reviews

I’ve had an awful experience with Chemist4U. My medication has been delayed due to their inability to process it on time, leaving me without the essential medication I urgently need.

Their lack of urgency and failure to provide updates has caused me immense stress. It’s unacceptable that something as important as medication is being delayed because of their incompetence.

First time using Chemist 4U and definitely impressed.

I purchased an item through this company with delivery via Royal Mail. The item was misdelivered to another, unidentifiable property with photographic evidence of delivery. I raised a dispute with Chemist4U who declined to refund me or post out another item leaving me out of pocket. This is completely unprofessional and contravenes consumer rights as they have failed to complete on their contract with me the buyer. Ultimately I had to apply for a chargeback through my credit card company. Beware.

Absolute terrible time ordering from these.

Over 10 days for a parcel to arrive, they use RoyalMail and frankly they are shocking.

This company shared my personal payment details with a third party. I was not informed about precisely what details were shared with the third party.

There is no way to delete those details and my emails marked for the attention of their Information Officer were just brushed off.

I had to raise a formal complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (then I had to wait 3 months queue for any response), and even now I have been obliged to jump through hoops providing more personal details. I still don't know if my details will be deleted

I ordered with good faith and reviews which lead to into a false belief they are reputable. After several attempts to contact their customers to find out where my order was NO ONE ever got back in touch so we are still at a loss where our order is weeks later!

I ordered from this coming in April 2023 in good faith. My order total was £130.98. After not receiving it two weeks after I placed the order I contacted them and was advised to contact Royal mail as it had been dispatched (warning sign when they tell the customer to contact royal mail). On doing so Royal mail admittedly said they had delivered it to the wrong address. On advising Chemist4U about this I was advised "there is nothing they can do" yet after reaching out to Royal mail again they advised the company Chemist4U can make a claim.

Its now July and Chemist4U have ignored ALL my emails and I am £130.98 out of pocket.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

Ordered Senna tablets. They sent Senease which is a different product. When queried they advised they had run out of Senna so sent alternative without asking. They said they would refund in 3-5 working days. No refund received. When queried they advised a manager was looking at it and would reply that day. Still no reply and no refund 5days on. All emails now ignored. Dreadful customer service.
