This Site Will Cure You Of Internet Dating Forever!

This was an aberration on my part. I joined because it looked as if there were lots of local singletons in my area as opposed to flogging up to the Orkneys for a coffee. I was immediately suspicious when I found they appeared to be running two sites in tandem: Match Affinity and Our Time. With Match Affinity you have to complete a load of psychological mumbo-jumbo to see if you are compatible with 'Daphnee from High Wycombe' who likes bull fighting and playing Russian Roulette. The Affinity site is more expensive, so and lo and behold that's where all the messages end up, the only problem being you can't access them unless you upgrade from 'Our Time' to Affinity. Now the upgrade should be a small additional supplement but as soon as you try the full membership rate page pops up. Now I don't resemble the creature from the Black Lagoon but I managed one message on the Our Time site and about a dozen on the Affinity site which are blocked. However my email inbox was groaning with frivolous rubbish such as: 'you have 16 new matches'. I wouldn't wish to meet any of these in broad daylight accompanied by a bodyguard, let alone on a foggy night. Or:'Brenda's visited your profile'. Really? Good for her! All this means is she's been surfing for possible contacts, decided she doesn't fancy you and moved onto another victim.

Now this is the crux of my complaint: Notwithstanding whether I could or couldn't access any members, what I was 100% certain of is that I didn't want to have the site automatically renew my membership after one month; this was akin to participating in the Krypton Factor as it was almost impossible to find a link to cancel. The link they claimed was the correct procedure merely flagged up the full joining fee page. I had been on a previous site and they had a dedicated customer service helpline if you wanted to cancel by actually speaking to someone or a fairly easy on-line cancellation procedure. Not so with this lot. Their raison d'etre was to avoid contact with you at all costs. This takes irony to a new level insofar as the whole point of the site is to get people to talk to one another! - but clearly not to the site's management. They have no customer service phone line or a dedicated email address for queries/cancellations, only their on line procedure which doesn't appear to work. I finally found a link at the bottom of their small print which would give war and Peace a run for its money, and to be fair they did respond quickly via this link to confirm my cancellation. I then had the same problem trying to unsubscribe so I've got back to them on the same link. I've written off 40 quid on this; as far as I'm concerned they can spend it in Primark. My internet dating days are now done so they have done me a favour in some ways. You can't look at pictures of people as if you're buying a microwave oven or lawnmower on Amazon and have the slightest chance of it being successful, human beings don't work on visual connection alone. Spend you money on pub quiz nights and you'll meet a three dimensional person to talk to.

Beware

Just letting you know that the URLs are bounced everywhere. The site is spammed beyond belief and you will get loads of fake ‘favourites’. Shame a ‘legit’ site that takes your money has such a dreadful approach to data security.

Dreadful

No appropriate matches, impossible to contact customer service via email, unable to gets out of subscription. Complete waste of money. Don't get fooled.

Do Not Touch With A Barge Pole

Not joined but get posts saying that (...) likes me. So far six ladies using the same attractive photo have done this, and others with a blurred photo that looks familiar. A meet up night for clients in manchester proved a disaster as it was held in a venue where the music was so loud that conversation was impossible.

Don't Go Here!

Absolutely disgusted with this site! I thought I had just signed up for a month for £21 and they took £44 the next month. I have been trying to cancel online but it won't allow me to. Keeps wanting me to complete my profile first, but I cant even do that!

Furious phone call imminent!!

Appalling

Signed up to DatingDirectAffinity.com (exactly the same as MatchAffinity, same site different name)almost 6 months ago, how wrong was I to waste £89 on this dreadful site.

List of reasons why:

I lost count of the amount of scam messages I received from 31 to 35 athletic, toned females with broken english and bad grammar, no pictures just the same old line "contact me on my email and I will send you some pictures".

Approximately 80 percent of site members are not active, (old members who have left and not taken down their details/pictures) how do I know ? top right hand corner says "not logged in >1 month"

every morning at 06.30 or thereabouts an email will inform me that a member has shown me their photo. This is misleading as it is a computer generated messaged and is not initiated by the site member.

I live near Manchester, 3rd biggest city in UK, yet most active members in the age range I specified are from Liverpool, statistically this does not make sense.

Frequent spoof emails from Grampian in Scotland with bizarre email addresses that are completely false.

Just not enough active members on this site and therefore a complete waste of time.

Oh ! and here's the catch, they make it really difficult to cancel your subscription members are automatically rolled over to the next 6 months and payment is taken from your account, (read the other reviews)

No positives I'm afraid. I am definately not the complaining sort but I feel people need to know what to expect if they choose to subscibe to this site, never again.

Terrible And Appalling Customer Service

I called them today to report a possible scam as a man I had met through the site had asked me to help with a bank transaction- sending his money to another account. I didn't do it and it seemed very fishy to me as he also went off the site right after getting my personal email address and asking me for this money business.

Match affinity proceeded to ask me his name which I gave them and of course the email address he had given me wasn't known to them. So i told them that we had emailed a couple of times via the site and they should have a record of that and then should be able to see his username etc. They said they couldn't see our emails! So I asked them to tell me if he was a known scammer and if they had removed him from their site. They said they wouldn't give me this info- it was confidential!

So now thanks to Match affinity he has my personal email address and is probably a scammer and he might try the same with other women...

I told MA that I would be removing myself from their site and never using them again.

Be forewarned and avoid Match affinity!

Don't Enroll

Don't join this site.

. I don't know what the others are like, but they can't be as dreadful as this. Pretty much all the 'members' have not been on for weeks, they totally ignore your search criteria, and the website is so very very frustrating to use.

An absolute waste of time - and money.

Not Recommended

This site does not come up with what it offers. The matches do not take account of your search criteria which you is the reason I thought ot would be a good choice, Their customer care goes round in circles and then comes up with a differnet reply - the site cannot be unsubscribed by phone, the search criteria does not work because the mathch is based on your physcholgical profile. Many members have not been online for over a month but are still sent. Some clients have asked to be removed but are still on the site until their subscription runs out.

I would not recommend this site at all.

Had they said the search criteria was not taken into account I would not have gone with this company.
