Will Not Meet Their Obligations
House roof damaged during storm (details on record) in December. Reported it at once.
After a week rain was entering and I asked by phone (one of those calls "will be recorded for training", etc. So they should have a record of this) permission for a temporary repair which was granted for both roof repair and necessary scaffolding.
Temporary repairs were done. A date for an assessor was at last given - almost a month after the damage was caused.
Assessor came and went. Heard nothing. After a while started send emails enquiring. Got automated "do not reply to this email" acknowledgements. Nothing else but after a few weeks I had a phone call and the person said another person of authority would be in touch within 24 hours. Nobody did get in touch.
In the meantime I have had the roof repaired at my own expense.
Now it is April and I still don't know the outcome of my claim.
Avoid this company, Swiftcover part of AXA - they will take your premium but will not meet their obligations. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
Follow up. Swiftcover have changed their mind and paid up after nearly four months. But cannot recommend them. If you have a similar problem keep plugging away at them.

I had my house cover with them. They 'for my convenience' auto review it. To cancel you log in... they hide how to cancel and FAQs don't help except to tell you expensive 087 numbers you can use ... and then no doubt hold on and wait as they are 'experiencing heavy calls loads'....
I did eventually find an 02 number and managed to get them to tell me how to go through the site to cancel.
For interest they wanted £102 .... I found similar cover with MORETHAN VIA COMPARISON WEB SITES for £85.

had a crisis received no help at all. the staff member i spoke to sounded like a refugee from jackanory. will not be renewing with this half baked company ever again. there is no way on gods green earth i would reccomend swiftcover to an enemy never mind friends and family

Auto Renewal Rip Off
After the first year , your insurance premium goes up but if you did not give four weeks notice prior to end date they still charge cancellation fees /threaten you with debt collectors in a bully boy letter within a week and every other under hand / small print second rate antic firm would do ...absolutely moraless and more small print than you could ever read/understand ..just stay away and go with reputable mainstream insurers.

Handled Claim Extreemly Well
We recently had a house fire and I was very worried when I read the reviews about Swiftcover. However the whole process went surprisingly well. Things did not happen overnight, but I was advised to secure the property with my own electrician which was eventually paid for. Later a loss adjuster (which is also used by most other insurances - so no disadvantage there if you use Swiftcover) was appointed and though things took quite a while to go through, in the end the claim was handled extremely fair and we are very positive surprised. Maybe also because the main impact was in our garage and , so after the initial clean there was not that much of an urgency for than for someone who has the fire in the house itself. For sure we will continue with Swiftcover. The premiums are unbeatable and now that we unfortunately have our first claim, which was handled extremely professional, my mind is at ease for the future. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews on the net about them.

Never Use These Jokers....complete Rip Off Merchants
Cancelled a policy and bought eleswhere. They processed the renewal anyway and didnt communicate. Tried to demonstrate that I had dual policys and they should refund, wouldnt accept it and charged the cover for the period in question and then an additional cancellation fee.

Botched Work Is Not Covered Now!
My central heating has broken down. They sent out engineer to fix it. He turn out 4 hours late and after looking at the system. He inform me that he has to come the next day. We were freezing whole night.
Now, whenever I put on hot water the whole house get heating. Swiftcover is saying that it is not their problem. They even lost my renewal policy! I had to wait on expensive number (0871) for them to set it up again.
Customer services were passing me from on department to next and at the and they game number to external company which did not want to deal with is unless I pay upfront.
Unfortunately I cannot give them 0 stars for customer services.

Do Not Use This Insurance Company.
After I had experienced rain damage to my home recently I got in touch with swiftcover who I have my policy with (cheap yes, my own fault) to ask for advice on their procedure more than anything because i wanted to avoid a claim if possible. I went online and was encouraged to email them, with a small option underneath to call an 0871 number. So I emailed the details and was told someone would be in touch 'shortly'. I still haven't heard from them. The day after I emailed customer services to ask after my first email. I still havent heard from THEM. That evening I called the 24/7 claims line and I was told I needed another office which was closed for the weekend and I should chase it on monday. On tuesday I sent a fairly polite email to the complaints team to say I was still waiting. I still haven't heard from them either. I called on wednesday and was actually relieved when a young lad, who spoke like he was half trained and half asleep, said I couldn't claim. What is most annoying is that I only really wanted a quick query answering. The only thing these people are swift at is signing you up!
