Last month we brought a kitchen from Benchmarx in Halstead for one of our properties. Normally we use Howdens but decided to get a quote from both. I felt a representative and the team went over and above with the service. They came out next day and measured up as Howdens couldn’t fit us in for at least a week. Nothing was a problem for them as I’m quite fussy and wanted to alter the design to my exact spec, which they did. They made me feel very welcomed and was very knowledgeable about the products they were selling. We went for a mid range handleless gloss kitchen, all units came pre built. Overall very good quality units. He kept in touch with us throughout the whole process and also followed up after the kitchen had been installed to make sure we was happy with everything and that everything was good, which it was. I have no problem with recommending him and the staff at Benchmarx Halstead as they are a credit to them.

A new fully fitted kitchen. The plan was not according to the footage so had been badly measured. The kitchen fitter despaired and had to make three journeys to the store in Bangor, Gwynedd to get the proper plans and to find out how to fit cupboards that were incorrect as well as badly designed. He had to arrange for doors and cornices that were not there to be delivered. The handles never arrived so we had to order from Etsy - which arrived within the week. Amazingly having told them that we were getting our own in desperation on our last visit to them they still had not cancelled them. Order delivered bit by bit with shoddy worktops two of which were damaged.The dishwasher space was incorrectly measured so we could only put in a small dishwasher not the full one. Where there should have been corner cupboards ordinary cupboards were sent so the storage space was impossible to access easily. My husband had to go to the store three times also to find out what was going on and has had to move into his first home with a kitchen that was not complete. Having complained to the Assistant Manager, no apology has been received and no refund given. They are a total disgrace.

Changed my kitchen design without telling me. Added items to my invoice without actually receiving them. Please be aware. Very bad experience never ever will I use them again

Please be aware these people do not belong to any type of ombudsman or alternative dispute resolution service. So if you have any problem at all with the particular depo you are dealing with, head office will not help you. The only thing you can do is go to court at cost to yourself like I have.

Bad bad choice. #benchmarx miss-sold woodchip worktop as solid wood which is also unfit for the design they created for us. Now they are refusing to refund because apparently they gave it to us for free. Kitchen was supposed to have been delivered a week ago but we are still unsure whether we will receive the final pieces tomorrow. Somehow they are clueless about what is on stock and when they can deliver items. Will be reported to #tradingstandards

I don't normally use review sites but I did when I was looking to buy a new kitchen, I nearly bought from Howdens until I read the reviews on here, I'm so glad I did! I bought a kitchen from Benchmarx who have just opened near me, I'd never heard of them but my builder told me about them. From the minute I went into the showroom the staff were friendly, professional and at no point did they pressure me into making a decision. The delivery arrived when they said it would, the delivery driver was so helpful. Everything turned up , my builder fitted it with no hiccups. The kitchen is great quality, I am over the moon. Give these guys a go, if you have the same experience as I did you won't be disappointed. I meant to say they were cheaper too :-)

Highly recommend these guys had a couple of quotes one from Howdens and one from Benchmarx they were just under £1500 cheaper and they were offering me zanussi appliances over lamona, so I chose to go with them. I ordered it on Monfay it was delivered to me Tuesday and I now have a beautiful kitchen. My fitter said the units were better as they had solid back panels, all I know is I LOVE my new kitchen and I would definitely give these guys a go, fantastic value and great customer service.
