Absolute cretins! After an online quote which was barely overinflated they will not relent with ringing me. I’ve asked for my

Number to be withdrawn and take no notice. You block a number and they just use another, and then another and another. Horrible, vile company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I used their website to obtain a quote for my van, it's currently insured (not through these charlatans) and I received some quotes, the quotes were fine but since then I've been bombarded with spam phone calls and emails. Each time I've told them not to contact me, each time I've told them to remove my details.

This company is in breach of GDPR regulations - this company is exactly why we have GDPR regulations.

Do not give them any details, they will spam you and sell your details to others.

Awful In Everyway

I took out a policy with a fitted tracker and they cancelled my policy with 27minutes notice at 23:33. I drove to work the next day without insurance unaware. The tracker was fitted but I was accused of not using it even tho the tracker was working.

Stay the **** away pay a little more and go with another company because this company should not be allowed to be in business.

It ain't worth the hassle

So many bad reviews wish I'd done more research.

Whilst Applying Through The Application For New Va

Whilst applying through the application for new van insurance and getting to the end the site (vancompare.com found me a quote of 560 for the year which i could purchase so i did. I was then told byt the automated system that i had to call a number to speak to an advisor which is did.

Leading me though the form once again and having to tweak it he came up with a quote of £1,700 baring in mind 1 have full no claims bonus in hand.

I decided to cancel the policy to which he told me is fine but will charge £25.00 admin to which i refused but could do nothing about since they had £560 of mine. He then said it is in the t & c but when i rechecked it definitely was not and even sent him a copy via email.

Whilst i was talking with the advisor he sent me a copy of the policy and expected me to read it to see that the admin fee of £25 is there. (NOT HAPPY AT ALL).

I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR 1HR AND 10 MINUITES REGARDS THEIR T & C AND NOWHERE DOES IT TELL US ANYTHING REGARDS THE ADMIN FEE UNTIL YOU PAY THE INITIAL SUGGESTED QUOTE WHICH I WAS HAPPY TO ACCEPT PRIOR TO CALLING THAT NUMBER TO WHICH I HAD NO CHOICE. i THEN ASKED THE ADVISOR TOWARDS THE END OF OUR CONVERSATION TO SEND ME A COPY OF THE RECORDING FOR LEGAL PURPOSES BUT (RUDI) REFUSED.

The t&c that is revealed to us (customer) does not contain anything regards the admin fee...

They Cancelled My Policy!

My policy was cancelled as I went over my declared mileage because of volunteer work I was doing during covid. As well as charging a penalty for “cancelling” I was forced to take out a new policy at TWICE the price of the old one as no other insurance company would quote due to the cancelled policy? I have been with this company for over 10yrs never had a claim never missed a payment £500 from me basically. Would not recommend them to anyone!!

Awful Company

Awful company. Sold my van 3 weeks into a 12 month policy and expected a cancellation fee but  I paid £237 for my 12 month policy and received just £93 back after just 3 weeks with them.

What A Waste Of Time And Money!!!!

I don’t normally leave reviews online but under these circumstances I feel obliged to warn others of the incompetence of Van Compare, their underhand costs incurred and their non-existent customer service.

It is impossible to talk to anyone unless they are selling something, they initially contacted me within minutes of doing an insurance quote online (which was initially very competitive), so I paid £190.76. When I realised there was an error on the policy I tried phoning to amend the error, I soon realised it is virtually impossible to talk to someone, when I did get through the cost of updating the error was going to cost an additional £56.66.

I was personally rather frustrated with them after being past from pillar to post and spoken to very rudely by one particular staff member, so cancelled the policy that had run for 17 hour, costing me £108 in cancellation fees of different types leaving me with an £82.76 refund.

I class todays experience as a total wast of my time and money. I dread to think what it would be like to have the misfortune to have to claim with this company.
