Legendary landlords in the area - don't care about tennants, and recently I was told by the owner (who also owns the post office - worst post office in country?); "if you ever come into my shop again I'll knock you out"

Possibly the worst estate agents I have ever encountered. I have been living in a house owned and maintained by Avtar for 3 months so far, and have had several problems with the house. Avtar have taken weeks at a time to come to look at the problem, then another several weeks to half fix the problem. They come to the house when they want without any prior warning, which is a breach of their contract AND illegal. The staff are very rude and unsympathetic. They never reply to any emails. I strongly advise AGAINST renting from these guys.

Seemed ok to begin with when signing contract. It was written into our contract that the damp patch would be sorted before we moved in - wasn't too big. However it was not sorted and this was the worst flat ever absolutely freezing due to poor heating and large single glazed windows. During winter the damp and condensation got worse and unbearable. Absolutely nothing was done about this despite numerous phone calls and nagging. Eventually we were given a de-humidifier when the manager finally came to look at the damp (what had now become a whole wall dripping wet on the inside. There was mould around the windows and skirting boards all over the back of the wardrobe and drawers despite moving far away from the wall. These living conditions were not fit for purpose it was disgusting. All we were told was we couldn't move out until the contract was up unless we found replacement tenants. I wouldn't volunteer anyone to live in that flat. Communication between the staff was terrible and it is extremely difficult to get anything you need done with Avtar. Never let a property with them.

I can not say how strongly to any forthcoming tenants to stay away from this place, this coming from a former employee rather than a tenant.

During my time working here, I witnessed the shambolic management in all aspects of the company, the degrading, bullying, threatening, and abuse to its staff from said management. Plz Plz avoid if you are thinking of letting from them and if you're after a job there, walk away.

we signed up with avtar thinking they looked like a well established company, however they are the most usless, unorganised, disrespectful, aggressive and greedy people i have ever seen.

taken weeks and months to get urgent maintenance done

when we moved in the house wasnt cleaned. mould everywhere. got told everything would be sorted prior to moving in date....surprise nothing was.

have had to nag and nag to get stuff sorted.

never came to inspection days

got houses confused with for viewings.

every member of stuff has no clue about what they are doing. USLESS.

MUST AVOID. NEVER EVER EVER SIGN UP WITH AVTAR. U

I am not prepared to disclose the full details of my issues with Avtar properties as unfortunately, I still live in one of their properties. I would however never rent with them again and deeply regret signing for a house with a company that I did not fully trust from the outset. We had numerous issues with our property and Avtar agreed to fully comply with the works bill agreed within our contract. The house is still in a state of disrepair, so much so that the council are actually coming to inspect it. In my experience they are wholly untrustworthy and prepared to say anything to pressure you into singing for a property. I would strongly encourage others to avoid Avtar properties.

we left after a few weeks because Avtar with us were useless, aggressive, incompetent and unpleasant.

Why put up with that from anyone? so we left, very inconvenient but otherwise we would be just moaning after one repair to another, the house was basically uninhabitable.

Come on guys, student costs are bad enough without suffering from a landlord who does bad service on you.

I wish someone had told me to never go to Avtar, i would have taken that advice

When I first came to this wonderful city of Leeds, I was a complete stranger to the people therefore was bit reluctant to approach people for accommodation, my college was nearby Hyde Park that's why I was looking for a accommodation near to Hyde Park, I met several letting agents but they failed to provide me a suitable student accommodation. Then I came through this website and searched for a student accommodation near Hyde Park, and at present I am living in one of the most highly sophisticated house near Hyde Park, truly I am indebted to Avtar properties for helping me find a suitable student accommodation in Leeds. Most of my friends have taken the services of Avtar properties and all of them are truly happy with their warm response.
