I have used them before on a number of occasions for MOTs and been fine, but this time it took two hours fifteen minutes to do MOT when three times before it took an hour....charged me eleven pounds to fit one wiper blade and eleven pounds to secure battery holding plate bolts...a one minute job...needless to say won't ever be going back..the wiper blade I can almost understand but to tighten two easily reachable bolts thats a rip off..their greed for an extra few pounds has cost them my loyalty

I have been using Peter Cooper Car Repairs of Byfleet, Surrey for at least five years, putting at least five family vehicles through numerous service and MOT, so have a lot of experience of the service they offer.

The reception is professional, friendly and always helpful, and they will try hard to make an appointment to suit you. Unusually, when reporting back, they provide a great deal of technical information about the issues with the car, which really helps to understand what is going on (and what may be a lurking issue for the future). I have always found this to be honest and candid advice. They have a lot more experience of solving tricky problems than many main dealers I have used in the past, identifying the root cause of a problem effectively and quickly. And they treat customers respectfully, listening carefully to reported issues and working together to help solve problems quickly.

What really impresses me is that they have a no-quibble warranty on work done - I had a couple of wheel bearings fitted and the parts were from a bad batch and failed within months, and the garage replaced them without charge. On another occasion they replaced brake disks which went out of shape, again without charge.

The mechanics are a mixed bunch of young and experienced and this helps to ensure good quality repairs at a reasonable price.

Another good point is that the garage is walking distance from New Haw station which makes it easy to drop/collect, and then travel onward. When they are not too busy, the garage are very happy to offer collection and drop off.

I will continue using this garage and would recommend Peter Cooper Car Repairs, especially to owners of older cars, and those who want a thorough approach without main dealer pricing.
