Value For Money
Absolutely Worthless
The biggest mistake to have extended warranty from warrantydirect, anything you ask, they will not help and provide the payment to cover. It is a false commitment and I am paying additional cost for my car repair. It happened twice for us for my two cars so please do not use their service, a Big NO for any recommendation

They Are Not Trustworthy

Claim Rejection On A Possible Pre Existing Fault
MY Audi Q7 broke down, I was asked to authorise extensive diagnostics. which I did costing over £3000. Then an independent advisor saw the car he concluded the injector was at fault. Then I was told your issue has steamed from a fault injector. The injector is covered however this could have been a pre-existing fault.
My reply “but wear and tear is covered after 90 days” and my car is serviced at AUDI, I took out a very expensive warranty just to cover myself for these eventualities. What could I possibly do differently.
So now not only am I looking at getting my car repaired which I should have been covered for I have to pay for all the useless diagnostic.
Be very careful taking out this warranty I paied over a £1000 a year and the one time I needed it, it has been more of an hinderance than of any use. Not only check small print get as for if any pre-existing conditions are affected
A Wasted £600 So Far.
It's worth knowing before taking out a policy with Warranty Direct (WD) that you CANNOT use the garage of your choice even if you paid for that service. The garage you choose must be VAT registered. I've just had a problem with my car, the local garage that I have used for the last 5 years came and helped me out and got the car to his garage. He identified the situation as needing a new alternator so I told him to order one and that I would get in touch with my warranty company. The alternator will arrive tomorrow to be fixed on Thursday. When I got home I telephoned Warranty Direct and informed them of the situation and the guy mentioned VAT registration. I said the garage isn't VAT registered and it seems that therefore I can't use him. I said that when I took out the policy I was quite pleased that I could use my own garage, I trust the mechanic. I asked the WD guy if he read all the small print of everything he signed up to, to which he replied, 'It's not in the small print, it's in the How to Make a Claim section'. I asked why would I read that before making a claim but evidently everyone else does. Anyway, even if I'd read that before purchasing the policy I wouldn't have known at the time that the guy I trust wasn't VAT registered, this only came about when I retired and we were talking about how difficult it is growing a business.
It seems that if a garage isn't VAT registered then they might be using someone's drive to repair cars on, indeed I might be repairing the car myself. This attitude stinks because it means the small guy misses out again, Kwikfit is ok, small guy is a cheat.
So I paid over £600 for my policy and now, having made a commitment to my usual garage and I don't like going back on my word (the difference between personal responsibility and a company's attitude is immense) I must pay £300 myself to have my car repaired.
I know WD will say what I should have done, but just to make others aware...
WD responded to this and made, what I consider a reasonable offer re: getting my car repaired. That is cover of full costs of labour and 60% of the costs of parts. The 40% reduction comes from the age of the vehicle although it had only done 60,600 miles. They responded very quickly. It means that out of a bill for £264 I pay £76.

Rip Off
wish I had read reviews on this company before buying. Total rip off, they are probably the worst people I have ever dealt with. They are very good at taking your money then find any excuse not to repair faults. If you are looking for a warranty do not consider this lot.

My Bmw Had Only Been Covered By A Comprehensive Ex
My BMW had only been covered by a comprehensive Extra Care Warranty for 2 and half months when the ECU in the car suddenly failed while I was out driving it. This resulted in the gearbox seizing and the differential crown shattering due to the sudden impact. I had the car recovered and called Warranty Direct to report the claim. First they told me it was not covered as it within 3 months of policy start. They then admitted that sudden failure is covered. After 3 months of argument over reports on the ECU during which time I have had to hire a car they have finally agreed to pay 60% of the cost of replacing the ECU but will not pay for any repairs on the damage caused by its failure. Qin the end the amount I will recieve from these robbing dogs does not even pay for my months of car hire. Would have been better off paying the bill myself straight away. SAVE YOUR MONEY do not give it to them under any circumstances.!!!
Harrassment
Warranty Direct marketing, got sent the following,
"I asked you to remove my details from your database after being harassed by multiple calls a day, over a number of days, with never a message left. This was a request to remove all my details, including email address.
Today I have received a marketing email from you despite that request to remove my data.
I will now be reporting you to the data commissioner"
Obviously big on selling, short on performance when you read these reviews.
Head to Facebook and leave comments on their page - they'll get deleted but will be up for a while before they do it!

Total Waste Of Money!! False Warranty
On signing up they will tell tons of stories that you are covered. TRUST ME .... its totally false believe. They will trick you by jugglury of words but when it comes to breakdown and claim. They will try there best to get away.
In my case they didnt even look at the diagnostic report of the main dealer and simply said its not covered. There so called engine specialized when asked about the meaning of Contamination replied it means failure.
Its better to save the money you pay them for your next car service/repair as its a total false believe that you are covered for repairs.
DONT EVER think of getting ur car repaired through their approved garages (Prestige) as they both work in co-ordination to avoid liability.

Was it an automatic ? you did not say ,some times if its a manual it can something simple like a linkage ,if its the clutch its considered wear and tear so they wont touch it !
I used to have the above company but also found that my clutch was not covererd as I had drove it to Halfords ( there appointed garage) and so was not fair wear and tear
