Dreadful Customer Service

We had all of our house double glazed and a brand new conservatory built at great expense. The conservatory has sprung multiple leaks in the skylights and also along the back wall where the conservatory meets the house wall. Britlelites have been out six times so far to repair the faults and still we have leaks!

Each time we contact them we are told the6 offer sincere apologies that the issues are still occurring, last time we were told that it was a problem with the manufacturer and the sealant used as they had been having issues with other conservatories. In that case you would have thought they might have sorted the issue before!

Having has to keep taking time off work for the visits to be facilitated the last attendance became a farce as on arrival I was told that the works could not be completed as they had been given the wrong part. We were then told that we would need to have all the motorised roof blinds taken down in order for them to do the necessary works (we have. Ever been asked to do this before.) The cost of the removal and refit I might add Britelites are expecting us to pay for even though it’s their fault they need to be removed! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!

Warning !

I recently purchased my house, which came with a conservatory that was built only a few years before by Britelite. The conservatory had a 10 year 'guarantee' from them. We had a lot of heavy rain in the first half of 2023. Despite the gutters being clean and clear, the conservatory sprung a huge leak where it is connected to the house, and has caused a mass of water damage to the wall. Its now growing a lot of mildew / mold. Upon contacting Britelite about this, I was told that that this guarantee wasn't valid as I hadn't requested a transfer of the guarantee from the previous owner of the house to myself within 3 months of purchasing the house. This is not mentioned AT ALL on the guarantee. The only caveat mentioned on the certificate is that it is transferable subject to a satisfactory chargeable inspection. It seems like they will use any excuse to get out of putting right their faulty workmanship. Be aware. I'm now taking legal advice. I've requested to make a formal complaint to them but they wont respond.

Would Not Recommend

Would not recommend this company at all. I ordered new windows for my whole house back in July 22, it wasn't until April 23 that they finished fitting them. I was originally told me it would take a week to have all the windows fitted, however they sent one fitter to do the work. It is impossible for one man alone to fit multiples bay windows, he couldn't even get the bay out of his van without us helping him! I raised this multiple times but wasn't given an explanation. Secondly the quality of the work was diabolical. Nearly all windows weren’t level, handles were round the wrong way, windows were arriving damaged from the factory, the angle of the bay was wrong so had to be re-made and the list goes on. At one point the fitter was grinding bricks at 6.38pm because the bay had been made to the wrong size. They cost me upwards of £1000’s as the other work on my house fell behind whilst I was waiting for them to complete the job. I felt like it was a full time job trying to work with them to get all the issues solved. They pressurised me non-stop to sign the finance agreement so funds would be released to them despite the job not even being completed yet. I raised an official complaint before signing any paperwork and they offered me a measly £200 goodwill compensation and threatened me with legal action if I did not sign. £200 goodwill is absolutely insulting after what they have cost me, especially when last year their directors were paid dividends of £250k and salaries of £90k. It’s been a month since I signed the finance agreement and there has been no sign of the goodwill payment despite chasing a representative for this. Avoid Brightlite windows at all costs, would much rather have gone to Everest or Anglian.

Terrible Company.

This Company appointed us to do marketing for him on various platforms, we agreed a very low startup fee (£40) for advert creation and sharing across facebook etc... we had great difficulty from day 1 to get the payment of £40 from him and he decided not to pay us but keep using the advert we created for him. we have intellectual property rights on the advert also. He sent us a laughing emoji in response!!! check out his Google reviews and see the other people complaining. he has several other companies he operates from also.

Horrible. Avoid At All Costs

Had a new main door installed. Being new to this, we had asked again and again before playing the order whether they will fully secure the door before leaving. They promised to do so. On the day of installation, the fitters left at 1pm without informing me. Took me a while to figure out how to open the door and it was completely impossible to close the door. For £5k, we had an old but perfectly functional door replaced by something that couldn’t be locked!!! We slept all night in crime-infested London with an unlocked door.

The next morning I confronted the fitters who came to finish the job. They flat out blamed me and threatened to leave there and then because they didn’t like my accusatory tone…

Unprofessional!

I will be raising a formal complaint and then take it up with the glass federation!

Dear mkm87. We were sorry to read of your experience with our fitters. Of course, this was not your fault, and we completely accept that the fitters should not have blamed you for the problem. Our Installation Manual clearly requires fitters to demonstrate use of all our products before leaving site and we have reprimanded our team for failing to do so in your case. We have also reminded them that they should be polite and courteous at all times and accept responsibility for any errors they have made. We understand that the door is working perfectly now and hope that this experience will not detract from your long-term enjoyment of your new Britelite products. Kindest Regards Britelite Windows

Great Job

We recently had a couple of french doors and some windows installed. The installation team were fantastic the were very considerate of our house and the finish on the windows was better than expected (no need to redecorate). The product was of the highest quality which is what made us select Britelite originally and they did not disappoint

Very Poor Guarantee Service/faulty Glazed Units

When it comes to using the guarantee, you are looking at long periods of nothing happening and by long I mean two months. When an engineer turns up, I find that the

glass in the replacement glazed unit is scratched even though I asked Britelite to check it before attending. I have waited another two months only to receive a text to say that the replacement glass unit has not been made yet. I have no doubt that when the glazed unit does arrive it will be damaged. I know this will happen because two years ago I went through the same procedure, it took three visits and three glazed units to get one that was not damaged. I really cannot believe that it takes two months to put two panes of glass together without damaging them. There is clearly something wrong with the after sales service which needs fixing.

Faultless Service

The sales team were very good on advice and not pushy.

The on site team were good on time keeping, informing us of the work to be undertaken each day and tidying up at the end of each day.

There was no mess and few interruptions to our day. I would recommend Britelite.

Excellent Service And Quality

We had our conservatory roof replaced by Britelite. Their service was excellent from our initial enquiry to the finished product. Their staff were personable and effective and the whole experience you could not have bettered. The conservatory is now a much more pleasant and useable space.

Q&A

tophound

Do they normally send only 1 person to fit replacement windows and does it really take 3 days to replace 3 windows?

Eshallice

In my case It took 3 visits per window, Britelite sent idiots along to install 5 windows and Bifold doors. It took 14 months and 18 plus visits.

The only professional person was the independent structural engineer brought in to survey the damage caused by this outfit.

I had to notify FENSA the work had finally been completed, after paying I would have expected paid final invoice none received after 6 months.

Have they notified my council Building Control I doubt it.

The worst company I had dealings with since owning an house
