I Purchased This Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 Before

I purchased this Acoustic Solutions DS1033 before christmas and I find the more you play about with this system the better! We have a DVD/video combo and now use this for our channel programmes to get best use out of the speakers (not just solely for DVDs). We done this because we watch DVDs about 2-3 times a week and kept turning the speakers off, this lost all the programming of the speaker volumes and we had to reset them each time. We just use the standby now which saves settings (We have the surround speaker set at a higher volume than the front speakers). When I put on a dvd I do keep scanning the effects button to get the right sound and I also play about with the listening mode - havent decided which one to keep it on. The sound quality is excellent and cant be faulted though. It can be annoying when you are sitting down and press the remote control and are unable to see what effect you have on. I also keep the volume of the tv off now as when the phone rings I press mute on the speakers but still hear from the tv itself. I found the best tip to give for threading the speaker stand is not to erect the stand but to thread the wire through the base first, then pull apart the tube and thread through both of these and then through the top to the speaker, otherwise getting throught the tube in one go is a nightmare!

The Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 Is Really Impressive

The Acoustic Solutions DS1033 is really impressive for £179! Plenty of power for medium rooms. Stands are reasonable quality - plus have nice touches such as wire threading through them so it's hidden.

A word of advice - if you have a smallish room (ours is 12.5ft*12.5ft), then you need to place the sub woofer next to you. If you place it on the opposite wall you get no bass, due to the size wavelength being generated. Placing it next to you allows you to hear the reflected wave off the opposite wall. (I'm not techie on this, but suffice to say when the sub was opposite us we got no bass in the lounge, but stupendous bass in the dining room!)

Another trick is to use a graphic and cut the very deep bass, and boost the shorter wavelength frequencies such as 100hz-160hz. Not satisfactory though as it then is quite peaky - better to muck around with position.

Bought The Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 From Argos Fo

Bought the Acoustic Solutions DS1033 from Argos for £159.99 in Jan 2004 sales. Difficult to compare in sound quality to other similar systems but for the money and output (190W), this is unbeatable. It really does bring DVD's to life. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Bought This Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 Setup For My

Bought this Acoustic Solutions DS1033 setup for my parents as a Christmas present as an add on to there wide screen and to plug into there DVD player. Initially thought it was quite good but not as a good as I had expected, I think my Creative labs 5.1 sound better and there quarter of the price. Went to a friends last night and he has the Phillips set up Inc DVD player cost him around 280 and what a difference in sound quality. Music and films were a lot clearer with clean bass and the comparison in sound when watching a movie was quite large as well. The DS1033 sub cone goes wild but nothing seems to happen, it seems it might as well not even be in a box.

Overall I think that this system is average, however with a sub that actually put out bass wouldn't be a bad system at all, it goes quite loud and stays clear but there's no bass to complete the moment. I seriously wished i had put more time into the research of this product and i think prospective buyers should do the same

The Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 Is Fantastic Value F

The Acoustic Solutions DS1033 is fantastic value for money, I bought mine from Argos £179.99. I had spent the full day looking at other systems, and to get the same sound quality from Sony system, you need to spend £300 at least.

The Sub woofer is meaty, and shakes the room. (My room is 6m x 6m)..

Would recommend it to anyone...

I Bought The Acoustic Solutions Ds1033 From Argos

I bought the Acoustic Solutions DS1033 from Argos for £180, this system is a real bargain. I won't go into the specs because you should be able to obtain them from other websites.

Firstly, The design of this budget system is superb. The woofer/decoding unit has a pretty blue LCD display and LED standby LED. Every speaker has it's own stand, except the centre speaker, which rests nicely on or below the TV (don't worry, they're all magnetically shielded).

All speaker cable is supplied, and is OK quality. The rear satellite speaker cables are 10 metres long. The speakers rest nicely on their stands and provide very good two-way sound. The centre speaker is slighty larger and more powerful than the others (I've never understood why some surround systems have a centre speaker the same size/power as the satellites).

The subwoofer is powerful, and subtle too, if need be. You can customise almost any signal to you personal taste, or to suit the room.

The remote is a gem and very easy to use. Connectivity is good, with Analogue phono, digital co-axial and optical co-axial inputs. Very useful indeed.

As I said earlier, the sound quality is superb for an entry-level system and combined with the stylish design and range of available options, makes the DS1033 a very competent system. Highly recommended.
