Manley Lab's Shrimp Pre-Amplifier Review - I was running solid state pre and power amps which tough giving a reasonable sound did appear a bit flat . I bought the Manleys and out of interest merely inserted the Shrimp pre at first. Wow, what a difference. Turned out my previous pre was the weak link and that my power was actually stonkingly capable. Musics now flowed much more naturally, you could hear the space between notes, dynamics improved dramatically and boy oh boy did my system now boogie. Though things would still improve further with the Manley Mahi monos, this wee experiment did show that the Shrimp pre is a pretty amazing as a stand alone bit of kit.

Well crafted metal casework, no inbuilt phono stage and accepts 5 line inputs. Line outputs, no balanced, No horrible bias controls. Nicely weighted rotary controls.
