If You Like Sound Quality From Speakers, Then B &

If you like sound quality from speakers, then b & w are with out a doubt a very very quality performing speaker, fantastic alround player with tight bass reproduction and clarity is excellent, run these a quality amp my advice take your time on buying an Amp / Spekaer cable / Speakers get this right the rest will follow. I tried many different brands all great sounding, but some how did,nt have the warm glowing feeling to B & W, i have bi wired my 3 Pairs i have to follow this up with with very high quality chord company cable and proffesional connectors alround, dont skimp on anything and you end up with very very very nice system, take your time with these speakers, they really come to life in all manners and movies they are very good and controlled, i run mine of the top of the range Arcam amp, tons of power but i like to know i have the power to run the speakers i have with confidence as i have said never skimp on sound quality. Again these speakers never fail to put a smile on my face i can actually feel the sound hitting me in the chest, and can even hear many many new sounds each and every time i use them, if you love rythm and beats and just simply love you music to come to life, put your trust in these speakers, they are fantastic loud or low volume as they dont scream down your ears at high volume as music changes, they really are a excellent blend my friend has them too, and he loves to bits after i demo nine to him, for me they comein at the top for excellence and performance alround then go for an alround set of bw, s.

just make sure you have big juicy amp to run them all, get what hi fi magazine or any hi fi mag, go on the net go to forums and chats sites like these, not many dis like them. I cant see how you would not like these speakers. That why i went for the top of the range the big boys, fantastic speakers love em, to suit my smaller b w,s they are perfect for me.

Nope they are not for sale lol, get your own hehehee.

Hi

Like your review! I'm in the process of buying a Onkyo TX-NR1008 receiver and was looking to replace my Acoustic Energy Aelite 5.1 speakers with something smaller to fit my room and also, I want to upgrade to 9.1 speakers. The B&W 602 would be nice for fronts, but I'm struggling to find the rest of the 7.1. What you are using for surround and if you could direct me to something, I would appreciate it very much.

Kind regards,

Frank

I've Owned A Pair Of B&w Dm 602s For 12 Years Now

I've owned a pair of B&W DM 602s for 12 years now and I can honestly say that they are one of my best purchases ever. There are 3 really good things about these speakers:

1) Sound quality: these speakers sound completely epic. I don't listen to CDs as much as I used to but whenever I do I'm always pleasantly surprised at how much better they sound when pumped through these beasts

2)Volume: These speakers can be cranked without losing quality. They're equally good I've found both with music and DVD

3) Style: The big black box is a bit dated now but the kevlar cone is still great.

They are quite big and you certainly need quite a big space to allow them to sing.

This Speaker Cannot Be Ranged As Budget, Rather As

This speaker cannot be ranged as budget, rather as middle class for 2way. Even though, in market are 2way speakers which, cost more than 5k but 602 S3 has about 90% of their sound.

I Have Heard And Owned Many Loudspeakers In The La

I have heard and owned many loudspeakers in the last 45 years, including hi-end and studio monitors. Having just connected the 602s3's to a new Onkyo TX901 and fed by an Onkyo DV HD805, I can now say they are right up there with the best I have heard - regardless of price! I should add that I have added a 3ohm resistor to the tweeter which not only smooths that very slight exuberance but also generally rounds off the sound perfectly! Voices, vocals, pianos, violins, trumpets, drum kits and bass lines have never sounded so natural! All my 60s and 70s collection has a new lease of life! Film soundtracks - especially HD DVD - are simply stunning, as I have a pair of 601s3's as surrounds and will modify my second pair of 602's as a centre, with a custom built sub. If you are lucky enough to own a pair already, try adding a 2 to 3ohm resistor (depending on your room and set up) to the tweeter. For everyone else, hope you find a pair!

The B&w Dm602 S3's Are Great Speakers, And Paired

The B&W DM602 S3's are great speakers, and paired with the DM600, you cannot go wrong. I own several high end speakers but this sounded as good as the 8k studio speakers

Apart From Looking The Part, These Speakers Sound

Apart from looking the part, these speakers sound the part. They sound just as good, if not better than a floorstander, and yet they are half the size and price. I use these also for front speakers for my cinema surround sound, and hearing King Kong roar from the B&W DM602 S3 speakers will give you nightmares. And your neighbours.

B&w Dm602 S3 - For The Money ($540) These Are By F

B&W DM602 S3 - For the money ($540) these are by far the best sounding speakers I have heard. My setup is a Rotel rx-1072 receiver ($850), and Marantz 5001 CD player ($300). Monster bi-wire speaker cables ($150), and Monster interconnects ($80).

I listen to mostly classical music, vocals, jazz and guitar, and some pop music. Since the frequency response drops off quite a bit under 50Hz, if you listen to a lot of club dance music or something requiring heavy bass, or if this is in a home theater setup, you might want to get a sub-woofer. However, the bass was more than sufficient for my uses. Yo-Yo Ma's Cello can give me the goose bumps when he hits those low notes!

I have compared these with several other speakers, including the B&W diamond series 805s ($2300) - which were fantastic , tighter and have an improved imaging and naturalness. But even side by side, I'd say the 602 S3 performed very nicely. Can't go wrong with this price.

You'll need a good receiver or amp to drive the speakers. I tried to use an Integra receiver, and the sound was noticibly muffled, and lacked clarity. The speaker cables will also make a difference. Other than that, I don't see how anyone can be unhappy with these.
