Kef 107/2
Great speakers, nice sound stage. I have the original kube that came with the speakers, and I use it, as far as I am concered it works as designed by the KEF Engineers. I use an Aragon 8008X3 AMP, and a Aragon 28K pre-amp, non bi-wired with straight wire maestro's as speaker cables. The system is interconnected to the Kube with various interconnects and I have various power cables to the amp, pre-amp and source, Sony DVP-9000 ES. The system is airy and bass is relatively tight and highs are crisp depending upon source material. My advice that I have learned from a good audiophile friend, try different interconnects and power cable combinations, IMO rarely does all brand "A" type cables or powercords produce the best sound for your system. If you have a chance to audition them do so, they were the flagship speakers for a reason. Again, the secret is tuning the KEF 107/2's with the right quality electronic components, interconnect cables and power cables.

Kef 107 26 Years Later
I bought my KEF 107 speakers in the Frankfurt AB sound center some 26 years ago. I just had my woofers reconditioned and new Morel tweeters installed this year. I am amazed at how great these speakers still sound! I paid a lot of money originally but they were worth every penny. I don't use the KUBE as with today's use of a subwoofer I am not sure what value it presents. Secondly running the KUBE through a tape monitor extension has always been a challenge with today's AV smart receivers. Is there all that much value in using the KUBE? I have a hard time hearing the difference and feel like I have a pretty decent ear. Any advice on using the KUBE?

I Heard These Kef 107.2 Speakers Many Years Ago Wh
I heard these Kef 107.2 speakers many years ago while i was in the Air Force exchange in Germany. An extremely revealing speaker. Awesome soundstage reproduction.I purchased my pair off ebay about 5 years ago .. I use a Sumo Nine Plus and a Kenwood 700m as my amplification... I also use an upgraded Kenwood 700c for my pre amp. and a Sony 707xes as my cd player The sound is remarkable .. I use them in a bi-amp configuration without the kube. I havent needed to replace the foam surrounds. i never suffer from listening fatique with the 107.2's. I havent found any weaknesses with these kef's. I will never sell them. If you can find them used buy them without hesitation. Im sure you will love them as much as i do.

These Are Very Easy To Live With Speakers Once You
These are very easy to live with speakers once you actually get them home. 100# each makes them a task to transport and do not transport them laying down as this is perpendicular to the connecting rod in the bass drivers and may be the last straw in their foam limited life.
Real world (people who have less than $10,00 to spend on stereo) constraints make these the best speakers out there. I suggest bi-amp with tube top and solid state bottom and recommend MIT Terminator 2 speaker cable as a matching bargin and general good match.

The Kef 107/2 Are Great Speakers Even I Had Replac
The Kef 107/2 are great speakers even I had replaced the foam of those woofers.
After replaced the foam, the bass from these Kef 107/2 are still extremely deep and controlled, even at high volumes. I have tried with the Yamaha AV amp RX-995; Kenwood Power Amp KM-X 1000 and Denon AVR 4308. What I feel is Great Speakers!

I Bought It 2nd Hand. After I Reckon The Surround
I bought it 2nd hand. After i reckon the surround foam of the bass driver, the sound is just amazing.
I would like to emphasis especially the bass reproduction. I am placing it in a 10FTX10FT room. Many speakers i have tested with boomy sound, not the case with KEF. The bass presented in full body and tight but not over.
The mid and high are very forward without adding coloration, and i can crank the volume to very loud without irritation sound. Every notes of the music is reproduced accurately. I will keep this unless i find other better speaker. But not at present moment.

I Have The Kef 107/2's With The Updated Tweeter An
I have the Kef 107/2's with the updated tweeter and bi-amp capability. They come with the bass equalization KUBE system. I had been using my father's 1971 coustics Research AR5's, then I tried Martin Logan Montages for a few days, then settled on the KEF's. They are very neutral in the sense that they simply reproduce the music. They don't seem to overinflate any part of the register. They are very understated (especially in the lower registers) until you push them, then they really shine, e.g. Sheffield Labs Kodo Japanese Drumming CD. Closing your eyes, you can easily visualize the exact location of different drummers on the stage and literally feel the tension in the drum skins. The pivoting tweeter/mid heads on the 107's make stereo imaging easy to fine-tune. The Bass literally shakes the room, as the drums might (I have not been to a live performance of theirs) The bass remains clear and tight, not the least bit
