I Originally Went To A Hifi Dealer Close To My Par

I originally went to a Hifi dealer close to my parent's home with a box of representative CD's of what I like (film music, jazz, groovy,...)

I had originally the intention to orientate my choice to B&W or JMlab,...

So we started the first hour of test (I had a really nice reseller : Audiovox at Mouscron in Belgium which received me from 20:00 to 22:00)at his personal place on a saturday evening, listening to B&W and Jmlab models, which were approximatively sounding the same.

After one hour I decide to at least try the Mission M53 he had in shop, and then came the "sound" ! We compare it to B&W 202 and JmLab Chorus and were quite surprised how clear and pure the sound was restituted. At some moment we put it on a higher end B&W with a "Lionel Hampton" big band,...and it was surprising how all the instruments were present with the "Mission" speakers and some were almost not there with B&W.

At some moment, the vendor even rechecked his connection to the B&W and even changed the plugs, listening to a such big difference.

From what I have heard it appears that with a DENON amplifier with flat sound (we choose this option because my amplifier at home is Yamaha), the sound reproduction with the "Mission" speakers M53 were bright and clear. Piano sessions of Harry Connick Jr were even resonating as if you were on the scene. His voice was divine, cymbals of Lionel Hampton big band were as if you were there.

With symphonic orchestra from "Out of Africa" the difference were not as distinguishable.

Anyway, I came back from the shop with a different order that what I had in thought originally, but approximatively the same budget.

I have not yet received my speakers at home but will definitely keep you informed of my ear's delight.

These Floorstanders Give A Smooth Even Sound Which

These floorstanders give a smooth even sound which works well with most music types Holsts planets (mars in particular) sounds great with depth and space all the instruments are well placed the balance is smooth but dosen't lack attack when required . They have a fantastic soundstage and great scale that will fill many rooms although they like to be well away from walls. They can be base loaded and are bi-wireable which brings on a new dimension to there sound. The treble is not as up front and in your face as some speakers but is still informative and makes a good all rounder that is equally at home with dance classical and rock. Queens Another one bites the dust really shines the sound is big and the base is just right not over the top and boomy but will probably sound even better base loaded and could make the treble a little sharper as yet I havent tested them loaded but will update you when I have. Their scale of sound should please many and are an exellent buy for their money available in three finishes beech rosewood and blackand rated to run with amps from 25 rms to 100 rms and at 89db sensetivity. I tested them with the new £800 arcam amp and their entry level CD player which really brought them to life. I had previousley listend to some Roksan rok ones on this system which where very up front in the treble department which was great at first but maybe not after continued daily listening may prove tiring and not to every ones tast. These worked well at low volume but became coloured as the sound was cranked up and the base became more distant, Ideal if you are limited to not giving your speakers to much welly.Any way give the Missions an Audition and see what you think at around £400 they are a great upgrade for many sytems from a company that understands how to make music sound great.
