Perfect Bass That Provides Great Sound Quality

These Speakers are just an awesome. Perfect bass that provides an amazing 3d sound effect. One of the great sound quality i have ever experienced. Superb audio features are included in this. Good product at very affordable price.

A Good Surprise

I bought them because this shop was selling everything cheap. But they surprised me with their non fatigue sound. But I had to fill them with sand to tighten the basse I use a Rotel A1 and a super audio cd/dvd sony 905 (incredibly good analogic warm sound) Together with an old huge Fisher loudspeaker in the back for amazing tight basse, I m happy. I want to improve the amplifier.

Compact, Bright And Cheerful

I guess that feeding these speakers from a Naim Unitiqte is not really a fair challenge for them!

However, I am in a small bedsit at the moment, limited space, and finance! I got this pair off eBay, they were about 40% of the cost of a new pair. In a reasonable condition too for there age.

I would recommend listening to them before purchase, the bass can sometimes "boom" a little, and the top end a little "wooly"

The speakers in my main system are Neat Motive 2's, so it is unfair to compare the two!

I Love My M73i

I have the m73i with a denon avr1600 av amp and a marantz CD 67 ose CD player for almost 10 years and i love it so much that i don't think to change the setup but at the beginning i had some trouble on finding the right positioning and the right cables. They like some room in their back and bi-wiring (in my case the qed qudos for mid/bass and monster cables for the tweeters). For the price at the time they were the best buy but tricky to find the best companion amp and CD, for exp. i also have a Rotel 931 amp with a NAD 541 CD and the old 732i work better. listen first but it's better to test with more than one amp and cd

I Am Using A Marantz Cd Player Cd5003 And A Yamaha

I am using a Marantz CD player CD5003 and a Yamaha stereo amp AX-497 to drive these speakers,Mission M73. These speakers are exceptionally detailed in treble and sweet in midrange, but when come to the bass, you need some space so that they won't become boomy or uncontrolled. Position them about 40cm from the rear wall and about 200cm seperated. And also, try to match them with a interconnect or speaker cable that is having clear treble and sweet midrange, and not so boomy bass, eg. Audioquest Diamondback interconnect or CV-4 speaker cable. You will certainly get rewarded with a wide soundstage and detailed performance, and also deep and controlled bass. We must understand the character of these speakers and match them with a suitable amplifier and player and for sure, we will be rewarded.

I Bought These Mission M73 Stereo Speakers On The

I bought these Mission M73 stereo speakers on the recommendation of a Hifi mag, when I got them I was initially happy when used on DVD films etc on my home cinema set-up but on normal music I always felt there was something lacking.

Recently lent my whole system to my father as we were moving away and renting a place and he set-up my system using his speakers which were old Sony G7 Studio speakers, he was very impressed how they sounded with the rest of my system - I had never heard my system sounding so dynamic and musical

Connected the missions back up and the disappointment was massive, the sound was so directional with no sound stage and lacked any kind of presence

Summary - Try before you buy as you could be mighty disappointed, just purchased some Quad 12L as we are moving in to a new house so all my hifi is coming up with me but not the Missions!

You're comparing these to studio grade Sony speakers! Of course you'll find large differences. I don't think you understand the point of this review process. Were the Sony's even in the same price bracket. Think before you write please!

A Fine Pare Of Floor Standers That Would Make Any

A fine pare of floor standers that would make any hi-fi system stand proud. Need time to be run in but when they are they sound fantastic with all types of music. A bargain for the money!

Bought These Speakers On What Hi-fi Recommendation

Bought these speakers on what hi-fi recommendation as they were a 5 star award winner. These are certainly not 5 star speakers. Out of the box the bass is just nasty. It's boomy and uncontrolled.

However, if you load these speakers with sand the bass improves considerably but I've still heard much better bass from speakers in the same price range. If you put these against the wall, Mission recommend using the foam bungs provided to block the bass port. Use these foam bungs regardless how far these speakers are from the wall for a better sound. The bass is significantly cut down so won't please bass heads but makes the bottom end much more in tune with the music and acceptable.

Quality speakers take time to break in, a week or two in some cases. Educated music lovers and audiophile know this...

Dissing the 'out of the box' sound is a classic amateur mistake, and I'm not being nasty, it's actually quite common- I made the same mis-judgements before I knew better. Live and learn right?

I Have Just Replaced A Pair Of Mission 733 Speaker

I have just replaced a pair of Mission 733 speakers which are still pretty good, with a pair of Mission M73's. The M73's are better in every department, with well defined, powerful bass and good dynamics. The foam bungs do a good job of reducing bass if necessary.

I have done some research and listening in shops, and for the price these speakers are unbeatable.

I am currently after a subwoofer to boost the lower frequencies. Not that the speakers need it.

These speakers are great, so if you want to upgrade your speakers for a sensible price, then the M73's are the speakers to go for.

Q&A

sarrummann

What kind of sand do I have to use loading these speakers? Do I have to put it straight in the speaker or do I have to use something to keep the speaker clean? Is there any danger to damage the speaker while I filling the sand?

sauparnika

How much sand do we have to put in this speaker?
