Tannoy Definition D700

I have just recently bought these speakers in a rosewood finish,

they are truly remarkable speakers for a second hand pair costing me £1000 which was just right for my pocket. They have lots of detailed trouble and controlled bass they are very heavy cabinets with the option of Bi wire which I will recommend using. They need huge amount of power to reach full potential of sound, the more you drive them the deeper the bass notes go DOWN. I've been a big fan of Tannoy speakers since a young boy and never have heard double 10s give such great performance in a good cab. At the moment I'm using a Arcam AVR 400 as a processor and a Rotel RMB 1095 as a power amp with chord signature Reference speaker cables.

Tannoy D700 is definitelly great speakers.Very dynamics and fresh sounding cabinets,also beautiful looking.

They are very heavy ad well made.Possibility for bi-wire is also good

choice.

D 700 is very powerfull,and have a deep bass and detail treble.

Its high end speakers,they play well with Japanesse components,and

American.

Dont recommend English,its much neutral...-the speakers is energetic,they need juice for the performance.

I have owned and used these D700 speakers for more than 5 years, I think my opinion should be quite fair. The pair I have is rosewood finish, Tannoy quality finish in detail you can feel. For sound quality,I spent more than 1 year to compare the same price range of speakers,I would say D700 is the most money worthy speakers. The sound quality is even better than those couple thousands dollars more of speakers. They are warm, bright, and quite unique with the nice tweeters of concentric drives, very high-fidelity. My system is Rotel RCD 1520 cd player, Mcintosh MA6500, with Nordost Red Dawn speaker and interconnect cables. Real nice speakers.

This Tannoy Definition D700 speakers is absolutely great performance.

Low bass,grea detail,smooth and powerful,energic sound

Beautiful cabinet and finish,bi-wire,

I bought some Tannoy D700 speakers secondhand in perfect condition and they are superb.

I'm rediscovering my cd collection at the moment because they reveal so much more detail than any other speakers I've heard in the £1000 secondhand price range.

Voices have suddenly become clearer, bass is deeper, tighter and more controlled but the overall balance gives these speakers a very natural sound without it being cold and unemotional or overly bright like some more expensive speakers.
