I Won The Tannoy Series 90 - Dc1000 Speakers On Eb
I won the Tannoy Series 90 - DC1000 speakers on eBay around a couple of months ago for almost £90, a bargain compared to other loudspeakers I could have got for that price, and a big step up from my previous pair of Tannoy MX1's, and before those a weeny pair that came with my Technics SC-HD70 system! They can also give my dads Tannoy Jupiter S's and Coda 9.2's a good run in the quality department.
My next upgrade will be my system, so that I can get the best out of my speakers.
The sound quality is amazing, with the voices and drums really coming alive, due to the Dual Concentric driver!
I just did a refurb on a pair of these for a friend.
I removed the driver from the cabinet then the inner sound insulation which was a real pain to do properly.
I then measured and cut self adhesive sound deadening ( basic Dynamat ) to line the inside of the cabinets and stuck new felt on top of the Dynamat.
It took me most of a day but it was gratifying when I connected them up to my MF A100.
The speakers now seem to produce more a wider range of sound, deeper bass and more top end with no evident loss of control.

I Have Owned A Pair Of Dc2000's For Around 13 Year
I have owned a pair of DC2000's for around 13 years. I chose them after listening to just about everything, at the time, between £200+, and £800+. These were going for around £300= at the time and I was lucky to get a discount.
I have played around with sound recording and mixing and find these play live recorded sound in a very natural way. They sound great at low and high levels. They may not be the best in the world, but I have never felt the need to change them. They are at home with all types of music. I know some huge speakers go lower - but these do a reasoable job in the bass. Some speakers are smoother but these make a beleivable sound - not artificial in any way.
Other speakers I have owned:- Rogers LS3/5A; Musical Fidelity MC2, Celestion Ditton 22; Celestion UL6; Celestion Ditton 15. - to mention a few.
The Tannoys have outlasted all these (although the LS3/5A's are still technically mine - my Mum is using them).

I Have Had My Tannoy Dc1000's Since About 1985-6 I
I have had my Tannoy DC1000's since about 1985-6 ish, having paid about GBP160 for them - a lot of pocket money for me in those days. Every penny has proved to be really well spent. Excellent tight bass, not boomy but well controlled stuff, like you find in Tannoys new Near Field monitors.
The rest of the system now is as follows : Marantz SR4200 5:1 receiver, Tannoy DC1000 at fronts, KEF Coda 7's as rears, Tannoy MXC centre and a Yamaha YST-320 sub, Marantz CD4000, Sony NS300 DVD, Sony SLV-E70 and a Thomson 28" WS telly.
This produces as sweet a sound as I have heard for under three grand ! Just make sure you optimise the use of the bi-wiring feature and use a really decent set of cables - it makes one hell of a difference !
I have also uploaded a photo so you can see what they look like. The 2025 DC driver is also used in quite a few other speaker systems from Tannoy now, but I dont plan on parting with my little babies for a good while yet !

I Have Had These Tannoy Series 90 Dc1000 Speakers
I have had these Tannoy Series 90 DC1000 speakers for over 10 years. They are very pleasant to listen to - you can enjoy their loud, smooth sound for hours without your ears begging for mercy. If you ever get the chance to own a pair, just listen and you will be hooked.
They can also form part of a surround system, either with 2 more or using the DC2000 or DC3000's. A system to be proud of!
